Do all you 9/19 people still have the cancel button for your phones? Watch and a charging brick it has dropped off but still there on the phone. And in processing (not weird I know I’m just curious 😊)

You can only cancel while it's processing. Once it flips to PTS I think you can't cancel any more. But you have I believe 14 days to return.
Correct!

If my delivery order does not make it by 9/19, then my backup in store order will be 9/19 and I will receive the late phone and return the delivery on Apple's dime.

Figured Apple messing with a loyal customer who went to the effort of pre-bagging, pre-authorizing Apple Card, getting up at 5am and then to find out delivery is 9/25 really burns me.

Yes, if not just to avoid all of this shipping chaos.

I like the shipping chaos. It's a lot different this year not watching flights and tracking progress from China to my door step. But, there is a lot more predictability. I don't have to worry about when it will show up, if I'll miss it, if they'll even deliver since I am in an apartment with restricted access, or wondering if my trade-in will get "lost" by FedEx.

You would rather miss out on the plane tracking, UPS status and delivery attempts ???

Last year mine went missing as soon as it arrived at my local UPS distribution center.

Took a police report to send some detectives to UPS because it was felony case (over $1000).

They found it - took another week to deliver it - retaped box and all!

Anyone doing in store pickup?

Yes, first time slot 8:15 (for some reason they never do 8:00 ones at this location) - I am NOT a morning person but we all love to walk over (3 blocks!) grab our phones, and be back at home setting them up within the hour before the madness happens.

The 9/25 date was clearly a glitch on Apple’s end. They never provide a specific date unless it’s a release date, they always would provide a date range if you weren’t getting on release day I.e 9/24-10/1

Has nothing to do with stock, those who got a 9/25 date originally will end up getting their phone on 9/19.
I know my order changes from the 25th, to the 19th last night. I was online at launch time. I purchased at 703am and it still originally gave the 25th. Last night it changed to 19th. I received no notification about the date changed last night, I just kept checking the App. I believe like you, most of the 25th dates will change to the 19th. One can dream..
