So, if you buy with Apple but on Verizon, you get instant credit towards the purchase price from Apple and the rest is a bill credit over 36 months from Verizon.
I am trading in a 13 Pro Max. You get instant $320 from Apple and the rest from Verizon.
This isn't like buying via Verizon directly. No downside. You get your trade in from Apple and extra $$$ in bill credits.
So, if you stay a year and then pay off and move, you are still ahead cash wise to do the Verizon deal.
If you pay off early, you lose the bill credits for however many months were left out of the 36 months.

That's why I'm not financing with T-Mobile at all this time. Apple's giving me 520 for my 15 PM, I have around $330 in apple gift cards I've been saving up (and just added to my account) since the last time I bought an iPhone, so essentially before tax, I'll be getting the Pro for around $250 if my math's right...

$1099 + tax
- $520 - Trade-in
- $330 GCs
---------
$249 + original tax

And I know the $520 will take a bit to hit because of trading in but I'd rather just have the thing paid off completely.

No you won’t you need the value of the gift cards to the $249.

I moved to minutes from the Apple Store, so this will be the first year more than a decade that I'll not be tracking my iPhone on UPS across the ocean. That should save me a lot of time as I won't have a tracking number to compare to UPS departures and arrivals.

My favorite was when it was on a new 747-8, as my favorite plane ever to fly on was the old United 747s. Several years ago I got my iPhone just days before I flew to Hong Kong, and my new iPhone got to travel the same flight path backwards as we flew over Anchorage and into HKG.

One year I was tracking my UPS flight from Anchorage to Louisville on Thursday night before the Friday delivery. A thunderstorm over Chicago and Michigan forced the flight way east to fly over Ohio and I actually heard it fly over my house in Cincinnati on its approach path into SDF. Almost could hear the jingle bells jingling like on Santa's sleigh.

PS I'm not doing very well in the "saving time" by not posting here while tracking my phone's journey. And i haven't even ordered yet!
Oh wow, I'm doing ISPU as well this year and forgot I won't be able to track with y'all like I've done every other year. Rats. I have no choice though, my B___ of a UPS driver is a rude brute who refuses to drive or walk 300' from my rural gate to my door to get a signature. So every time I get a signature required package, I have to lurk around my security camera to watch him slap the door tag on my gate and then chase him around the neighborhood to get my package. I've filed numerous complaints to no avail. So no tracking and a 3-hour round trip to the Apple Store. At least it's in a mall with a food court.

I pre ordered the 17 Pro on the Apple app via T mobile. When I complete the purchase tomorrow will it give me the option to pick up in store?

Same - My wife hates that I have to get the new iPhone on launch day every year. I try to explain that it brings me soooo much joy, I am like a little kid on Christmas. China is the North Pole. 747s are the sleigh. Tim Cook is Santa.

She just doesn't get it.
Same here, just the other way around. My husband just smiles benevolently at my iPhone Christmas joy. 😂 But he would never complain, as he will get my 15PM once the new one arrives. ;)

Hi from Germany btw, reading here with you as our EU thread is rather deserted. Wishing you all a successful order day tomorrow :apple:

Yes, but the instant credit is the same as buying through Apple directly. The Verizon credit amount is above and beyond. The only way you don't get the full Apple trade-in immediately is if you trade-in a damaged phone. In that case, all the trade-in value comes through Verizon and early payoff doesn't help much. Any months you stay with Verizon before full payoff is money they give you extra above the Apple trade-in.
Only thing is you have to stay at least 60 days for the phone to unlock on Verizon.

Yes. That's what I was saying minus the paying off after a year. Youve basically 'used' Verizon for the first year in bill credits and would owe the balance (minus the bill credits).

Ha! Am I wrong that I was able to do this for the 15? I know I got the discount and I was literally #1 in line to pick up 2 phones, 2 separate orders. Hmm...
No, you may be remembering right; I skipped the last two upgrade cycles — this will be my first new phone since the 14 Pro. I am getting excited now as the clock ticks down!

Ugh...mine is for 4:50am! This is the one day I wish I was in the eastern time zone.
Back in the day I had to wake up at 2:50am EDT to go online and order. Try to go back to sleep after battling the ordering processes for half an hour! So more reasonable ordering time and much more efficient process these days make me a bigger fan!

Go into your account in the Apple Store now and make sure all of your contact info is correct and saved, you have a credit card/form of payment saved, etc.
I made sure to pre-order my AirPods Pro 3 first. Several years I've had to enter all Apple Card (or other CC) info when I should have been clicking the "complete order" button. So this year I definitely appreciated the preauthorize opportunity.

Also, I've been on the iUP for some years, but am going to do the ISPU of Apple Card 24 Month financing as I have the new AppleCare One plan and will only be paying $5.99/month for new iPhone's care instead of the $13.99/month when it is part of the iUP through Citizens One Apple Loan. Supposedly you can switch the iUP phone to AppleCare One, but I spent several hours in August unsuccessfully trying to do that with Apple and Citizens One telling me I had to contact the other one. Phone support for Citizens One is a maze of "AI CS" that made me realize they were no longer working for me... .

I just did a little bit ago... shows up in my apple store app now to complete tomorrow.
I tried to “get ready“ for pre-order tomorrow while trying to apply the Verizon deal and it’s not letting me complete the process of getting ready. Is there a certain order I need to do it in? It’s like the button to click for “get ready” is greyed out.

For people with fussy UPS drivers, a trick I've used when ordering iPhone with UPS delivery was to order an overnight/next day package to arrive on the iPhone's delivery day, that way I got it early/mid morning instead of late afternoon.

It seems the driver's priorities are different when an overnight package is involved.

My first "overnight" was a replacement item for which I didn't have to pay for the item or the shipping, and my iPhone came 6 hours earlier than would have been expected!

Trick after that was to find an item I needed and was willing to pay extra for delivery on that Friday. And to make sure it wasn't ordered at a time that would deliver on Thursday or the following Monday. So I usually just went with the regular delivery, and last year's phone came when the driver must have had someone else on my street had an earlier than normal delivery. He was a great UPS driver, he knew most of the street's Apple shipments were coming to me, so sad when we moved from that street!

I gave up on the carrier special deals as ATT always ended up costing me more money over the year, or locked me into contract charges. Fortunately I had an unlocked phone when i finally gave up and switched over to T-Mobile. I travel enough that the T-Mobile international plan for data, which is included, is free instead of an obscene additional charge by ATT.

Sorry, that's not too helpful for what you are trying to accomplish. I do hope you get it straightened out.

I’ve always liked being “free and clear” by paying full-price upfront. And, that is what I will probably end up doing anyways; being locked into something is not a good feeling. Plus, my Chase card is on a 12 month 0% APR promo on all purchases right now, so I might take advantage of that.

Questions for those that are upgrading more than one phone on the same Apple Account login or who might have the knowledge (you plus spouse for example)...if I want to get ready for pre-order with two devices on the iUP, can I have two loans in my name? Or can I get mine ready and then add another and click to enroll again and input my wife's info for the pre-approval? I'm trying to find the most streamlined way of submitting the pre-order and hopefully avoid having to have two different devices logged into the Apple Store app and submit two separate orders.
