Yes you can. You can even bring it in later after your purchase (but there is a time limit, forgot how long but at least 7 days) for a post-purchased trade in. The trade in credit will be applied to your purchase and you receive a partial refund, instead of a gift card.
I take it to the store and have them assist in boxing it up, then they put it in their mail. They were real nice about it.

It took over 25 minutes for the store to finally show that the Deep Blue Pro Max 256GB is not available for 9/19 delivery. I'd really hope they confirm the early 8:00-8:05 orders showing the 9/25 delivery are glitched.

Why wouldn't I? The iPhone is safely waiting for me at my local Apple Store. No potential issues with shipping. I can trade-in my old iPhone on the spot. I set up as new in-store. Then I restore from iCloud backup when I get home. Couldn't be easier.
Fair enough. I've not done that since you had to for the early iPhones.

I remember I think it was the 3G or 3GS having to get to the store like 5 hours before it opened as it was just a queue based system back then. Was first in line. Got in and already their payment systems had crashed (O2 store, only carrier it was supported on back in the day in UK) so waited like 1 hour. In the end had to leave for work and they said they'd put one aside and let me pick it up at lunch which I did.

I like the low hassle of getting it delivered these days but admit it's not as bad in-store as the early days :)

I ordered 6 after and it said 19th but after checkout 25th 🤷‍♀️ I mean slightly disappointing considering I waited a long time before it let me in to order lol. Oh well I guess nothin* to do about it! I see a few ppl think it might get bumped up, hopefully

I have been out so I couldn't get on the order as soon as it was live so I've got an iPhone 17 pro 512GB Cosmic Orange and an iPhone 17 Pro Silicone Case with MagSafe – Orange but with a delivery date of 29 Sept – 6 Oct
I'll have to wait.

This is what happens when they drop black, think that's going to be the most popular color by far.

Finally got in at 8:20 after refreshing about 200x. :20 after seems to be about the time I’m able to get in every year. Apple Store app was available a little sooner but you can’t use 10% military discount so I (not so) patiently waited. Downgrading from a 16 Pro to base 17, lavender. Miss the slightly lighter weight phone and pretty color! 😁💜

Also ordered an SE3 on Wednesday for 8am pickup. The earliest slot by the time I was able to order the phone was 12:45pm but I am hoping it’ll be ready at start of business so I can grab them both at my early slot and don’t have to come back later. I think they let me do that last year. 🤞

Have UPS hold it and go pick it up if possible

Hold for pickup was not an option last year where I live from UPS.

Using the Apple mobile app on my iPhone and cellular data I was in instantly. My iPad using Wi-Fi and the app didn’t let me in until about 8:05a and apple.com didn’t open up until 8:12a. I wonder how they figure out who gets in first.
I was on my iPad finishing my order, but it started buffering at the end, so I finished it on my iPhone. Worked

Order placed at 8 a.m. EST... 9/25 date.

damn apple, charging for all 3 iphone pre-orders separately, had to call my bank to let them know not to flag for fraud. Anxious cause i see the transactions coming in to Chase and I'm missing one and hope that last one won't trigger the fraud alert.
