Now that the dust has settled I'm wondering if we can all agree this year's pre-order experience was not as smooth as previous years. The problem I ran into was in store pickup was 'unavailable' for every iPhone, so I had to re-order 5-10 minutes later when in store pickup suddenly started working. I saw a ton of people reporting their Pro orders all say 9/25 even though they ordered super quickly -- I'd like to believe a significant chunk of these orders will get pulled up to release day.
Mine was smooth. I got in at :01 I saw the delivery date was 9/25 and switched it to store pickup on 9/19. Even got the check in time I wanted.

Interesting because I just checked delivery dates and they've slipped to October.
I did a silver and blue Pro in 256 and both are for 9/19. It looks like you can still order these colors for 9/19 as well!
did you have to resign up? New credit pull, etc?
I just had to wait until my eligibility was reset, 10/15 mins or so then I was able to select my phone for upgrade. No new hard pull but to be fair, the only hard pull I ever had was when I started the program back when it launched, each year after has been a soft pull.

I had a pre-order setup but the system didn't work until an hour later. So now my 17 Pro Max in Orange doesn't deliver until October 16-13. I'm hoping it will be sooner but will also try to snag one from stock after release.

I also got the 9/25 for my pro preorder. People speculate it’s a bug of the trade-in-kit ship date? I’ll give it until Wednesday like others are saying. I can always just show up at the store and cancel my order then.

Glad to hear a lot of people had no issues. In retrospective it wasn't terrible, just not S tier.

The worst EVER pre-order experience was the iPhone 6 launch. I think that was basically peak iPhone hype in the US. Months long delays, people's orders not arriving on time, carriers were super useless back then, etc.
