Vaja Libretto Case - nice but is it worth it?

Thanks for the pictures! How does it feel in the hand?

The Smart cover has the same issue with the microfiber facing outward in cinema position. Not a huge deal so far in practice, though I agree that it would be nice if it was leather touching the table rather than microfiber.

The Agenda 2 has three problems for me:
1) pretty sure it's thicker (the description says it's "padded",
2) it doesn't have magnetic closure, rather it has "elastic band closure" which I wouldn't be thrilled about,
3) the embossed leather on the inside of the cover would leave a "Vaja Vaja Vaja Vaja Vaja" pattern all over the screen.

All great points..I think the case looks great and it's a better value than the A2. And that strap would have been incredibly annoying.

Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks for the pictures savilerow. How does the magnetic latch hold up? Does it slip about or come loose at all?

Cancelled my order, the Vaja site has been updated with the iVolution cases now too! Can't make my mind up if I prefer the folio effect or the ability to take the front cover off entirely.

I'll lose sleep/wake and stand functionality with the iVolution...but it does look a bit better and the detachable cover is good because it means there won't be a flap at the back adding more bulk when I just want to use the iPad in portrait view.

Sorry for the late reply. Took some pics, they didn't turn out well but anyway here you go. The overall impression of the case so far (after one day) is good. Had bit higher expectations though. The black microfiber inner lining is the only thing that is really annoying me, as it will not doubt get dirty really fast especially if the iPad is placed in a "cinema" position on those airplane trays that can be described as anything but clean.

I would probably have opted for the Agenda 2 if it had been available when I placed my order. But the Libretto is good value and guess it will take some time to get used to it.

For some reason the pictures are not showing up for me . . .

Those are some pretty important functions you are losing. Taking the front cover off has it's disadvantages as well over and above folding it back. Still a nice case though.

More decisions to make now that the Libretto Case provides the option of choosing leather for the interior for an additional $30.00.
Still waiting to see what SGP comes out with. They showed a case for the back to be used in conjunction with the Apple smart case cover but it is not what I am looking for.

Thanks for noting this update to the Libretto. I had passed on it before because of the microfiber lining and didn't want an Agenda. But now I may just have to reconsider even though I ordered a moleskine type case. Can't have too many cases, right?

For those who have received a Libretto for the iPad 2, how easy is it to remove the iPad?

Actually, this pisses me off because I had asked about this prior to ordering my case and they had any plans on doing a leather interior. They said they did not. I may try to get it done with leather or see if they can cancel it since mine hasn't shipped yet.

Overall leather should be alot more durable.

I ordered mine on April 7th and am still waiting shipment. I might have ordered it with the leather too if I had known. I wonder if it adds much weight to the case. They told me the Libretto I ordered weighs 10 ounces. Does anyone else have trouble accessing the Vaja website? I can access it fine on my IPad, but have trouble navigating the site on my computer. As a result, I often access the Paris store website with no trouble and have been wondering if ordering from there is any faster.

I have not had any problem viewing Vaja's website on my iMac in Safari, including today checking out the new interior leather option.

You should have no trouble cancelling. If you need a contact email for a person at Vaja that can cancel for you just shoot me a PM.

I bet it does add a little weight to it..

I also have no problems accessing their site on my Mac, using Chrome. Safari sucks IMO..Their site is a little cloodgy though I agree.

I finally found it! This is why I'm not so sure about the leather interior pattern. My Libretto still hasn't shipped, but I think I'm sticking with microfiber.

I'll try to quote, not sure if it will work:

I also have an Agenda 2 case (black outside with rabbit grey inside) and love the look, feel and functionality.

One disappointment is that every time I open my case, my iPad screen has a build up of what appears to be leather oil or 'grease' from the inside cover of the Agenda 2. I definitely know it's from the case as it didn't happen with the vaja case and there is a subtle but definite diagonal pattern to the smudges that match the diagnal design of the Vaja logo on the inside cover.

Has anyone experienced this with their agenda 2 cases? A quick swipe of a microfiber cloth takes care of it but it's definitely annoying to have my case MANDATE this... Especially poor feeling when I am showing someone my great new case and iPad and then there is a smudge festival happening on my screen.

Maybe once the leather ages and dries out a bit the residue left on the screen will reduce as well? I have a Vaja case for my iphone 4 and haven't run into any problems but that case doesn't totally sit on and make contact with the screen like the Agenda 2 case does with my iPad screen.

Anyone have any experience having this same issue? Or, just as helpfully, having not had the issue? Related to the color maybe? What color are your cases where you are/aren't encountering this issue?

Looking forward to everyones feedback and help in figuring this out!

You should check with Vaja on that... When I purchased an Agenda 2 in Mamut last year the inside of the cover didn't have the embossed Vaja lettering. It was just plain leather. So if you ask maybe they'll make it that way for you.

Here is a picture showing what the inside cover of my case looked like:

That case is a thing of beauty! Unfortunately, considering how hard it is to get in touch with Vaja in the first place, I can't even begin to imagine how hard it would be to try to order something "off-menu" :) Thank you for the suggestion!

Ordered the all black for my ipad 2 on 3/24/11 haven't heard anything from them and no responses to email. Love there products, HATE there customer service. It is horrible. Does anyone have a phone number?

I ordered mine about the same time. I got a call on Sunday saying that it was going to be delivered on Monday, but it never showed up. Fedex tracking says it's still in Argentina. I emailed them and it they said it'd take 3-5 business days. So, I'm guessing it's still held up in customs.

Every time I email them, I email three different email addresses. So far, they always respond. Ping me and I can email them all to you!

They are headquarted in Miami and the number is (305) 593-5053 according to my Google search. Don't know if calling them there will help.

Neither work and are disconnected, you would think if they take 200.00 they would have a little customer service
