Neither work and are disconnected, you would think if they take 200.00 they would have a little customer service

They are horrible with customer service..Knowing what I know now I would NEVER had ordered this case from them. They absolutely suck ass, don't get back to you and aren't forthcoming about anything. Prior to ordering my case I asked if it would be released in leather on the inside at any point soon because I would have waited. Sure enough, they make the interior in leather now and won't respond to my emails to get it changed, or to cancel the order.

Seriously, think twice before you order from this company. You need pretty thick skin to deal with their communication, it absolutely sucks.

My next step is to just simply dispute it with my CC company and have them retract the money from Vaja.

I guess I will file a dispute with amex, but the bigger question is how does a company survive that operates this way and shows no concern for it's customer. As a business man if I ran things this way I would be out of business!

IF they haven't responded and you still don't have your case they haven't lived into their end of the bargain, you can file a dispute. It's over 35 days for you I think..I would cancel it.

I may do the same if I don't hear anything soon.

At one point I was contemplating the purchase of a Vaja case, but that company is a joke when it comes to service.

Very nice cases. But like the Piel Frama iMagnum case they leave one corner unprotected which makes it somewhat useless from a protection point of view.
Typically when you put down your pad these are the points where they hit a table first etc ...

I've got mine. It's nice, but not worth the asking price imho.

Honestly, I paid $180 because it was the closest thing I could find to an iPad 1 case...but it's not even as functional as that.

I am now on my fifth email and called all the numbers plus the one from whois. I wonder if they are aware of their reputation or even care, I have filed a complaint with amex, anyone have any other advice?

Response!!!!!!!

After much emailing and yelling I got a response, see below, at least they admit fault.

"Hi,______

Maria Cecilia the person in charge of customer service has been on vacation since 28/4, I personally pick up her work on 29/4, may be there was a gap between us, and your emails haven´t been answered, we are very sorry about this, your orders have being delivered on 29-4 via fedex under tracking number ____________ and _________________

We are catching up on demand quite well, there are only a few orders that haven´t been sent in the stipulated time frame, and your are part of this batch with one of your orders that has been dispatched 2 days later than promised, the other order is on time, please accept our apologies for the delay.
We don´t steal yours, nor anybody´s money, we work hard to gain it, we offer an excellent quality product for the money you have paid, you can also certify this cause as we see in our records, this is the sixth order you buy from us, and for what we know we never fail in what we have promised.
Hope you can understand

All the best,

Best regards

Why do you say not worth the asking price? Is something about it less than you expected from the description?

I don't know they could have shipped mine I don't care..I am disputing either way. I hate this company and everything about them.

There are only a few companies that take 35+ days to ship you an iPad 2 case. If people have a problem those companies (Vaja & Portenzo), then why order from them? We all know what we're getting into when we order. They are small companies that offer a great product at a premium. I took a chance Vaja, waited out the 35 days and my Vaja is on it's way. Sure, they're not the best with emails, but I haven't had many problems getting a response. Most people for years have been beyond happy with Vajas product. These cases beat almost any case can buy at local store.

If people are going to keep complaining, then why did you order from said companies in the first place, when you've read what you could be getting yourself into. Dumb on your part.

Dude here's an idea..GFY. No one here complaining is dumb first off. Second I am not compaining about the 35 day turn around, just the fact their service sucks, much like your suggestion above. No one could have known that aspect going into this purchase.

IFM all the time, me and Rosy Palm. Thanks for taking it to that level.

Read the forums. Vaja (and Portenzo) is/are known for slow responses. Fact.

You took it to that level when you called people dumb for complaining. Maybe you forgot.

I spent $180, I deserve responses and for the company to live into their commitment for two measly flaps of leather.

Enjoy your case.

Enjoy your case.

Sorry, but hopefully you can tell I am not happy and don't need to hear how dumb I am.

Sorry if I got pissed, I just really have had enough of this company. I work hard for my money, they should too.

Got my case today coincidentally. So I guess my question about changing the interior is out of the question.

Anyhow..I have to give credit where credit is due, as much as I HATED dealing with this company, this is the best case I have seen. I love the way it folds up, love the sleep/wake and magnetic closure. And the leather is fantastic. Everything people say about the smell is true, it's delish. Think of the finest leather jacket you have ever smelled. Both stand positions are very stable. And best part NO BEZEL COVERAGE.

I got black which looks really sharp. I guess I can live with the interior since it's not cheapy microfiber, feels nicer. But honestly, I can see it not being as durable as leather interior. Although would definitely add weight and thickness. This case is very thin overall IMO, very cool aspect. And to anyone wondering if the metal emblem will scratch a table the answer is yes without a doubt. My emblem was also a little scratched upon receipt actually, and I am sure it will continue to get scratched so not concerned over it. But so much for quality control or customer service with Vaja.

So for me the moral of the story is. Case is nice, satisfies the quality oriented buyer, not the Customer Service oriented buyer. I guess I am both..Still not worth the asking price, but great quality usually isn't. As far as customer service BUYER BEWARE, Vaja sucks in that regard.

Would I order again from them? Doubtful, unless they produce something I absolutely have to have. By then there should be plenty of choices out there.

Quite honestly, now that I think of it. Someone in the US should start a business that makes cases exactly like Vaja, quality and designs, but just differentiate themselves with top notch service and they would be sure to crush Vaja. Or at the very least make them treat their US buyers better. Problem with Vaja is there is nothing like it out there, particularly in the US, which is the probably the largest device market in the world and a great market for leather. Hmmmmm..Who wants to put together the business plan for the VCs? : )

Mine arrived today as well, albeit without a tracking number or any advance notice. Only problem is I'm stuck @ work and can't drool over it just yet! I've been buying Vaja cases for years (going back to the iPaq days) so I'm used to the way they do business and IMO the quality of their products has always been worth the wait.

Vaja Cases

I'm new to the forum. I have been looking here for a couple of weeks trying to find a case for my iPad 2. Really, I have been looking to find something that I could use instead of a vaja because of the same reason that several of you have noted, the cost.

I have ordered several vaja cases in the past (iPad 1 for me and my wife and our original, 3G and 4 iphones). Yes they are slow and they are not the best at communication but we have ever had a problem with any of the products. When my iPhone 4 case was delivered late (60 days vs. the 45 days at the time I ordered) they sent me a $20 discount on my next order.

My wife's iPad2 case was delivered today and again it is outstanding. Needless to say, I have not been successful in finding an alternate case for myself, so I ordered mine today. I actually like to microfiber. This was not an option for the iPad 1 cases.

It is a little frustrating that a new case might show up tomorrow on their website. This caught me on the iPad 1 case. I ordered mine when it was $220.00 and paid $260.00 when my wife decided she wanted one for Christmas. But that seems to be the way they operate.

For those of us still waiting pictures are appreciated!

Skids, glad to hear you got yours and it meets or exceeds your expectations. For all the frustrations with Vaja and their prices the product is really sweet.

I swore I wouidn't order a Vaja for the iPad but after dealing with sub-par Yoobao cases with various issues, and seeing other options with other compromises, I decided I might as well get one I'll really enjoy. With Vaja obsessing over when a case will arrive is pointless. You pay your money and forget about it until it shows up on your doorstep.

Mine is still probably 3 weeks away. . .

Got mine today too! Worth the wait. Really nice case. Very light, nice leather, microfiber is fine (may collect white dust, but no biggie). Now, the Toblino 2 goes on Ebay. This is my go-to case.

Here are some quick pics I took with my iPhone...

Thanks for the pics- anxiously awaiting to hear news of mine ordered on April 7th- (libretto shitake) - maybe next week???

I also received my case today I think they waited until they had a large order going to the US before they shipped them out, I never received a shipping notice I had no idea that it was coming today. The case is beautiful I love the feel and the smell of the leather, the case is expensive but it is the nicest case I have ever seen. I have a BSE skin on the back and nothing on the front.

When I bought my iPad 1 case last year the emblem was scratched/scuffed up too. I wonder if they are always like that.
