Does everyone whom got thier orders in within the first 5 minutes say “Estimated to ship Around September 21st” in the Verizon portal?

Mine said by 9/21 instead of around. You should be good for release day, since it seems like you placed the order pretty early. Even years when it gave a later ship date I usually got it earlier than it was estimating.

Okay... you're upset that your 7 Plus, a few generations old now, is worth less than a directly previous year's phone would be? You're not even comparing Apples to Apples (pun intended). A 7 Plus traded in for a new 2018 generation iPhone is 3 generations old. A 6 Plus traded in for a then-new 7 Plus would have only been 1 generation old, hence the difference in price.

You go to the Verizon site, pay it off to the halfway point while ordering a new one, then send the old one in once the new one arrives, I believe.
I didn't pre-order because I called Verizon about that yesterday. They said I could turn mine in but to do that I have to wait until there's a phone available. That I couldn't pre-order.

I dun goofed.

I accidentally ordered the Space Grey 512GB XS instead of the 512 XS Max. I called Verizon about 30 minutes ago and had a great chat with one of the customer service agents. I was able to successfully nab a Silver (the color I really wanted to be honest) 512GB XS Max. My delivery date is still 09-21.

Whew...

Should I see anything on my credit card? LOL. It doesn’t even show a hold. I hope it goes through.

I was told by the awesome Verizon customer service agent I was on the phone with that orders wont get charged until a few days before the ship date. It may change this year (may charge sooner) seeing as they have a better, more efficient streamlined process compared to the cluster from the iPhone X launch last year.

Sorry, you are wrong. Back then you could trade in a 6S or a plain 6 for $650 trade in credit. That was a 2 year old phone at the time. That would be the same as trading in a 7 today as it too is 2 years old.

You’re actually both wrong.

1) A 7plus isn’t 3 generations old... only 2 (it was the series immediately prior to 8/X last year).

2) And a 6/6S never commanded 650 trade in value with Apple - ever. Not even the year after it’s launch. You could get that price selling on eBay. But not in trade in.

Sprint has a $750 trade in deal for phones going back to the 7. I might just hold out a week or two to see if Verizon does something similar. They probably won't, but it doesn't hurt to wait and see (unless you need the phone ASAP).

Olivia I thought the same thing. I even tried to make a payment online, it doesn't seem to let you do that. But I went to the Verizon site this morning, and the site let me pay off my iPhone 8 Plus to the 50% mark, then order the XS Max and have it delivered on 9.21. So I had to pay an extra $120 (I got my 8 near Xmas last year), then the regular phone order. I can bring my 8 in to any store within 14 days.

I ordered a MAX, confirmation email time 3:11a ET for my wife...and when we woke up this morning, she had a text message on her phone saying:

"Verizon Msg: Urgent action required. Did you place an order on account ending in XXXX on 9.14.2018? Reply YES to authorize the order now, or NO if it wasn't you. For any questions, reach out to Verizon Fraud at 1.888.483.7200"

Obviously she replied yes, but not until about 7:15am today. Did anyone else get this message? Would this affect my pre-order delivery date?

Snagged a iPXS Max 256GB in gold delivery by 21st, Will be a awesome upgrade from my iPhone X.. Just due to larger screen size. Can't wait

Not with apple, with Verizon. I got $650 trade in for my iPhone 6.

I get what your saying, Im just saying that Verizon has been pretty generous with trade in offers to get you to buy a new iphone. The offer I took for the iphone 7 plus had quite a few phones that Verizon accepted at the $650 offer, it enticed A LOT of people to upgrade. This time around Verizon is saying " Get our best iphone launch offer ever" that led a lot of us to believe it would be just that, a reasonable amount for a trade. However the offer only entices people to get a second line and $700 off a second phone. Im just saying it got a lot of people excited only to find out the offer isnt any better than the last year, I was offered $320 for my 7 plus towards the X, the same offer stands this time around so I personally dont think "best iphone launch offer ever" benefits people like me.

Thanks for backing me up, people are quick to judge without knowing the facts first.

Were not both wrong, only one of us and its not me. Thats why this post is on the Verizon pre-order thread, nobody said the offer was thru Apple

Did anyone check out without their carrier details? First time I did it to check out quicker.

Got an email this morning saying that they were unable to take payment with the information provided. I used Apple Pay. What's interesting is, 30 minutes later, I used Apple Pay in the Apple app to order a case. No problem. So I had to call this morning to give them an updated payment method. They were unable to update the order as there was an error and it would not let them.

So they recreated the order and expedited it so that I would still get 9/21 delivery. I will remain optimistic.

I didn't stay up this year rather I woke at my normal 5AM CST and got on and was able to get a watch 44mm and the MAX in 256 both scheduled for release day. Seems like Verizon has lots of stock or the demand is weaker this cycle. Nothing about this phone really excited me comparing the X to this.... hence why I didn't stay up late or get up early.... if my bill wasn't the same whether I upgraded or not I would have passed on this release.

Did anyone else get the message about no longer being eligible for an annual upgrade if you buy the new phone? Got a XS Max on device payment and this is one of the screens I had to tap through.

I did. It was when I clicked an option to trade in a phone so I back tracked and said I wasn’t trading in a phone, even though technically I am giving back my iPhone X as part of the upgrade program, and didn’t get the message again.

My original plan was to see if I could get the $100 extra on your trade in on top of the ~$500 they were offering for iPhone X. I was just going to pay it off myself now and then send it in to get the deal and be hopefully about $100 ahead of the game but when I saw that message you saw, I got nervous and just did it the traditional way. Does that make any kind of crazy sense?

Argh. Agonized about this one for a while but think I'm deciding on skipping this year. Have the iPhone 7 and Verizon didn't make the deal sweet enough for me to upgrade. The Xs looks sweet though so enjoy!
