Had major issues with both website and app, was all set to purchase at 3:00 but they both froze up. Called and first rep started asking questions such as "how do you like your X" I said can you please process the order asap and then call disconnected. Called back and had success but this rep could'nt figure out where to apply my Verizon Up dollars so I said just forget it and place the order. Gold Max 256 9/21/18

I don't believe overnight shipping is offered on release day buys. You will get the phone next Friday.

I forgot to tell my phone rep about my VerizonUp dollars, and he was going to transfer me to that department but they told him to just credit it to my account. You can probably call customer service and get them to credit it to you.

I couldn’t change shipping nor choose in store pickup. I also wasn’t presented with an area to enter my Verizon UP device dollars :( so I just went for it as well via the app .. order confirmation at 103am Colorado

Did anyone get quoted the 20th for delivery dates ? The CS rep I talked too last night said the delivery date would be the 20th.

They almost always charge/ship as early as Monday/Tuesday. Depending on where the phone ships from and where it's going, it arrives at the post office/fedEx the day before release. They are instructed to hold for delivery, even if they receive it 1-2 days early. This happened to me last year with the X. Card was charged Monday, shipped Tuesday, received at FedEx on Wednesday. Held at FedEx until it was delivered Friday. And no, you can't pick it up early from them :)

VZW rep at the store where I ordered said either day 20 or 21. Depends on stock location and delivery locations.

I had to get customer service apply a $60 credit onto my account because they could not apply my device dollars. Now ive got a code I cant use. At least they did credit my account the $60, plus $60 for the activation fees and $20 as a loyalty credit go the HUGE hassle with the pre order garbage.

It was like pulling teeth to get that $60 for the device dollars, took over an hour.

They won't deliver until the 21. Apple requires the carriers to put a delivery hold on shipments that might arrive early to ensure that they don't arrive before the official launch date. I believe that Verizon uses FedEx and a direct signature is required for delivery.

Very smooth upgrade fee removal this year.

I picked mine up from fedex last year so it depends on who you dealing with

I tried to order on the Apple site right at 3am but was having a ton of issues so I decided to just order from Verizon. Took 2 seconds, no issues at all, and I got a confirmation email immediately! Can’t wait!

Thanks this definitely makes sense

And so I caved into temptation. I went back and forth all day while I was at work. I came home and I couldn't resist. I ordered Xs Max Gold 256; deliver by Oct 3. I justififed the purchase this way: I paid a net of $320 for my 7Plus after factoring in the generous $650 trade-in 2 years ago. I'm getting a trade in value of $330 this time, so it's not a bad deal from that perspective. Hopefully, Verizon will give us all a nice trade in 2 years from now.

For anyone who hasn't pre-ordered an iPhone please believe this. I have gotten my iPhone on release day the last 4 years and it's very very very rare phones ever get delivered earlier than release day.

Looked back and saw that the iPhone X preorder thread for Verizon had a mix of UPS and Fedex shipments. I guess they use both?

Can anyone confirm?

I was only able to change the shipping address on the website, I couldn’t do it on the app
