And just like that I changed my mind! Just ordered (still with a September 21 date!) the xs, 256gb, silver. Got the agent to waive the dumb $30 fee by persistently asking nicely. FWIW, the first agent said he couldn’t do it so I just switched till someone said yes.
Just a long name for your SIM card.They always list it as a separate item.
I have a 256GB XS Max in space gray headed my way. ETA is October 3rd... I’m horribly impatient... I should have waited up until 3AM so I would have gotten it sooner but there was no way I would have stayed up without knowing what the deal was.

So I Preordered mine and also got a new line with a free iPhone 8 for my daughter. Now here’s the rub. I sold my iPhone 7 Plus on eBay and it pretty much went in less than 2 hours. So now I’m going to go a couple days with no phone and just the Apple Watch Cellular. Looking forward to that actually and just in time the podcast app will allow downloading and streaming from the watch.
Doesn’t the watch have to be tied to a phone via number share?
You are correct sir maybe the carrier can hack that for him? I was told when I bought my series 3 Verizon required an Iphone for the services to be bonded or it wouldnt work.
Order new iPhone XS Max in silver and the new 44mm Apple Watch series 4. I am super excited. I get sucked in every year. Self proclaimed Apple Freak 
No luck for me in getting the upgrade fee waived. The rep just put a note on my account and told me to contact them when it shows up on my bill. Doesn’t make any sense to me considering it’s part of the charge that will hit when the phone ships rather than anything that would ever be on the bill.
What deal did you get with Verizon? I’m waiting on a trade in deal on my 7 plus to upgrade to th max.

Not sure what you’re going to do with your 7 plus but as an FYI I sold mine on eBay and got over $400 for it and it sold in less than 2 hours after the auction started.
It does to set the watch up but after that it doesn’t. I’ll still have the service but just won’t have a phone for a couple days.
They offered $320 for me to trade in my 7+. Chatted with mom and she said she’d give me the $320 for it then let my dad have it.
Sure wasn’t like the deal we had a couple of years ago, that’s for sure. I feel like Verizon gave customers the middle finger with the “buy one get and get $700 off another” deal since it requires a new line.
I live in, grew up in, and travel a lot of areas with crap cell service. Back home the service is terrible and Verizon doesn’t care because they offer the best coverage in the area so they know people aren’t switching. I’ve always stuck with Verizon even when living in areas with better cell service so I can be reachable when I am back home. I’ve worked in higher ed and I’m now a librarian, so I have always had nice vacations where I spend lots of time with my family and I can’t stand to be cut off from the outside world lol.
Otherwise I’d give verizon the finger and switch!
Do you mean that there aren’t people posting about running to their doctor to get Xanax because the anxiety of having to wait for their phone and tracking it is too much to handle and they haven’t slept in days? Or about how they are caling Verizon in a panic because their order status hasn’t progressed in the last 37 seconds? Or how they are getting fired from work because they called out so there can be there to get their phone? Or how they stayed up all night watching the flight tracker pics by pixel as it crossed the screen bringing their phone over from China? Or how they called FedEx at 801am because their package wasn’t delivered yet? I love reading how anxious and worked up people get over a phone. I woke up at 730am for work and ordered mine. It will be here on the 21st. I will be out of town for the day and the phone will wait patiently as will I until I get home. It’s just a phone. Not a cure to a debilitating disease.
Sold my X 256gb on Swappa in 10 minutes (prob should have priced it higher) so I had to ship it out yesterday. I'm using my daughters old Iphone 7 and can barely stand it, can't wait for my Xs Max to come. I orig ordered the gold but then thought about resale and what would sell better next year and decided to go with the silver.
I emailed our rep twice already asking about if they're going to have any kind of trade-in program and haven't heard back. Is there any info out there about it? I read through as many pages on here but didn't see it yet. I have a feeling instead of the trade in program they're pushing the $700 off two.
I think the Xr is going to be the more popular. I have to order 2 so I'm sure I'll be up in the wee hours of the morning on October 19!
