Carrier Verizon 2018 New iPhone Pre-Order Thread

Well the order changed from Ship 9/21 to ship 10/10. The Xs Max 64GB silver showed 9/21 but the Xs Max 64GB gold shows 10/10, so the order is delayed until 10/10. Still have our 7+ on AT&T so I will have to be patient. Sometimes dates change but gold was very popular.

Totally - I don't miss the HOME button one bit! I thought I would but the phone was so smooth and got used to swiping immediately.

I chatted and called and they refused to credit me.
 
I’m switching over to Verizon from T-Mobile. Did the process online yesterday around 3pm central. My husband and I ordered the Gold 64gb Xs for me estimated delivery by Sept 21st and the Space Gray 64gb Xs Max for my husband estimated delivery by Oct 3rd. Got a call today from the fraud department they were making sure we actually did place the order, so my husband says. I looked up the number and it does match. They told us we should be receiving both phones by the 21st so we’ll see. :D

I dumped Verizon earlier this week and switched to Total Wireless. Cut my monthly bill from $170 to $60. No damned fees like Verizon. Purchased my iPhone from Apple unlocked paid in full. Will just switch my SIM card over to it when it arrives.
 
Early this morning, I received an email from Verizon fraud to contact them. When I finally got a hold of someone, they said they needed a copy of my DL. I told the rep that I had already emailed it yesterday...She was able to pull it up again and my order is being processed, allegedly with the same ship date of 9/21.

Are you a new customer? If not, it seems odd they are requiring a copy of your drivers license.

If they ship the subscriber info on the physical sim how would you be able to transfer that onto the embedded sim later? Defeats the purpose of the entire dual SIM feature.

The only thing that makes sense is if the shipping carrier encodes the esim.

Apple itself has not activated eSIM on the phone and the website states it is coming in a future Software Update.

I read through as many pages on here but didn't see it yet. I have a feeling instead of the trade in program they're pushing the $700 off two.
I think the Xr is going to be the more popular. I have to order 2 so I'm sure I'll be up in the wee hours of the morning on October 19!

However the Xs Max leather options are rather slim right now. I don't want saddle brown as everyone and their brother will have that. So I opted for the white silicone. Yeah, they have not re-issued Nectarine leather which was my favorite. Coral is not cutting it. I hope they bring Nectarine to the leather cases. The silicone cases make placing things into pockets tricky.

I think once your account is active with Verizon and you activate it should complete the port from ATT automatically.

The VZW rep gave me an 888 number to call for the port. Said I needed the AT&T account number and any PIN or password. I have two number to port to VZW
 
Was just curious, who here likes to set up their new iPhones as "a new iPhone" vs restoring from a previous backup?

I always set up as a new iPhone. I just feel like it’s cleaner that way. Plus I usually have some junk on my phone I don’t need. I also don’t carry any photos over from the old phone. I put them on the computer and store copies on multiple external hard drives. I just like starting fresh.

I’ve always just restored as old iPhone, but now that you mention it, it seems like a good idea to set up as new iPhone because I also have a lot of apps I don’t use. Can you still transfer pictures over if you set it up as new though?

I had mine waved through the Chat on the app. Just try and kill them with kindness that usally works.
