Carrier Verizon 2018 New iPhone Pre-Order Thread

What is pricing and gb options for verizon XsMax? I just paid off current iphone so am ready to upgrade, but like to know pricing before tomorrow midnight gets here

Is it better to just trade my X in for the XS+ or should I buy it outright to sell later and then upgrade?

I just spoke to Verizon about having my next phone thru the Apple upgrade program instead of the payment plan thru Verizon. I have 2 payments left and they assured me that I can go thru Apple and upgrade and return the iPhone X that is thru Verizon’s plan. Here are screenshots:

I'd rather go on the Apple upgrade plan this time but I don't want the hard pull on my credit right now so looks like I'm going with Verizon again. I'll probably get the Max because it's different "enough" from the X.

Im gonna do it with watch but verizon doesnt eveb have a change on their website yet to show new apple stuff coming. That’s unusal they usually spam that sh*t for a week before.

Don't do it. They're confused. What they mean is you can buy through Apple on a Verizon Device Payment Plan after just making the 2 additional payments. If you buy through Apple with the iUP and not a Verizon DPP, there's no way you'll be able to just make 2 payments and return the phone to Verizon. The 2 payment plans aren't compatible with each other.

BUT... Verizon is currently offering $565 for an iPhone X trade-in, which is more than the implied $500 you get by upgrading through the Verizon upgrade plan. So you can pay the Verizon phone off completely and then trade it in to Verizon. But you should pay it off ASAP and then get the trade-in price locked in online. You have 30 days to send the phone in after that. It's like getting a $65 discount on the phone, haha.

That is a great idea. I wonder if I should just call Verizon and clarify.

Is it better to do the Verizon upgrade program or Apples? I am kind of unsure which one is better...
Apple’s plan is more expensive because it includes AppleCare+. I don’t know if that matters to you. I like having one bill will all my cell phone charges so I chose the Verizon upgrade program.

best offer.... i'm going to go out on a limb here and call BS

Unless the offer is like the one 2 yrs ago when I got my 7 it won’t be the best. 2 yrs ago you traded in your old phone and they gave $27 monthly bill credit. Paid $4 for my iPhone 7 for last 2 yrs.

If it is, I upgrade. If not my 7 still running smooth

I upgraded my 6s to 7 because of that same offer. :)

My battery drains pretty fast now - even though it says 84% on the battery health. Fortunately I just plug it in when i'm at my desk at work. It's kind of making me want to upgrade.... I know, I've fallen into the trap. I could just get a battery replacement, but deep down, I think I just want a new phone.

I bought the Apple battery case about a year or so ago. Nothing like going to bed and still seeing your phone at 100%!

Depends on if Verizon has a kick butt trade in offer like they did two years ago.

I had th 6S and had no plan to get a 7 until Verizon had that sick $650 trade in program. I still like my 7+, and unless Verizon comes up with a sick deal I will stick with the 7+.

Hello all, good to see everyone again each year in this thread;)

Hahahaha. Welcome back. I can’t wait for the panicked delivery posts to start. There’s the ‘i’m not going to be home, can I pre-sign,’ the ‘I think I saw the UPS truck leaving my block but they didn’t ring my doorbell,’ and my personal favorite, ‘it still says the phone is in (fill in the city) are you sure it’s going to deliver on launch day?’

I’m not poking fun, I will be right there posting those same things. It’s officially fall!

So good to be back doing this again!!! I"m planning on the Xs 256 GB Space Gray. Will have the website on my Mac and the Verizon app ready to go!!! Good luck everyone!

Best iPhone launch offer ever....
2 years ago I got $650 for my iPhone 6. Literally pay <$10 a month for my 7+.
Last year was $300 ish.
Let’s see what happens

Yes you need to make the 143.00 payment at Pre-Order Time. You need to wait till then, when you pre-order it will give you a option to pay up the remaining balance to do the upgrade program.

Seems to me if I paid the amount needed to upgrade now that would be one less step in case supplies are limited and the ship date gets pushed back by weeks in a matter of minutes. Not true?

Last year I preordered on Verizon and they went live like 5-10 min before apple.com did as I was refreshing both at same time. I got it Nov 3rd so I will probably end up doing it on their site again this year. I also went to Target the morning of and picked up another one so that was always an option too

Yes I remember the 10 minute mistake Verizon made last year and I was one of the fortunate ones who got an order through before midnight. It was sweet!

You can't pre-pay up to 12 payments even if you want to, unfortunately. You can only pay it off completely if you want to pay early. If you only want to pay off to to 12 payments, you have to do it at the time of upgrade.

Since you have an X, you can payoff in full early and then trade the phone in through Verizon (you have 30 days to send the phone in). Right now the Verizon trade in value for the X are more than 50% of the original MSRP, so that's actually a better deal than doing the annual upgrade.

Currently have the X 256 GB in Silver. Looking back, I should have got the 64GB. My phone says I’m using only 43 GB.

Is it worth it to upgrade to a 64GB Xs? Would only bring my bill down about $6 a month.

Not familiar with the trade in promos though. Is that just for people not on the Verizon Upgrade Program?
