I'm currently on Verizon monthly IPhone X plan. I'm planning to order the XS max tonight thru the Apple Store app. It shows that I will still need to pay a balance for my current Iphone X. When would I need to pay the balance? Before the order (now) or while processing my pre-order tonight?

I wanna know the deal already. I traded in 6 and paid less than a lunch out each month for the 7+ I have now. It’s time for a new one and I want to trade this puppy in to help offset the cost.

I'm thinking about joining the Verizon upgrade program. Is it a better deal then buying the phone outright?

I’m wondering the same thing. I switched from atandt after many years to come to Verizon for that same deal you speak of.

Not necessarily a better deal, but gives you a lot more flexibility. There's really no reason not to except that with Verizon's new policy they might not unlock the phone until you pay it off. So might not be worth it if you need the phone unlocked immediately.

Verizon's iPhones are unlocked so they become world capable when you travel. The Verizon model is the same as the Sim free apple sells.

I also got the $650 trade in promo 2 years ago. Now I'm on my last payment. Do I have to pay off that payment today so I can order a new phone? I guess I won't receive the last credit worth about $27.

You would pay that balance when you are checking out. It will be added to the total. So your balance + the sales tax for the iPhone Xs Max plus whatever else you add.

Ok so lets say their trade in deal sucks. It is better to buy out my current iPhone X and then resell it right? Rather than trading it in...

I know that always used to be the case, but there are signs that they are changing that.

I'm having issue with the pre-approval on Verizon part using the "Apple Store App". It says "Verizon may require a deposit in order to purchae a new iPhone". I can't seem to pass this message. My account is on auto pay with 0 balance, and my Citizenoneloan is up to date for 12 months payment.

Verizon Reply:
Riley: Upon checking the terms and condition of the pre-order here in verizon. Our pre-order begins 09/14 at 3:01AM Eastern time zone

Apple:
The representative said that they are receiving the same message from multiple users. (Numbers I don't know). But, they do not know the solution to this problem.

How do you pre-approve on verizon?

I’m stocked it’s my first attempt to order via Verizon directly after a undefeated run of getting each new model minus an S series I hope this goes smooth and I can have it ship to my store or whatever since I’m traveling on 9/21 lol I wish everyone nothing but success and May your Verizon portals stay up and functioning I got shanked last year on Apple site so I used B.B. Any positive Verizon preorder success stories welcome

So I am traveling to the philippines in a few weeks soon so can I pop in a globe or smart sim from over there and use my new iPHone xS max there for a few weeks on their network?

I always had success pre ordering via the VZW web site. Never had an issue, unlike some of the horror stories I red from people preordering via Apple.

If Verizon locks it for the first 60 days, it may not work.

So use the desktop browser site vs the Verizon app is the best play in your opinion? Thanks for responding

I did the exact same thing and had 1 payment left. I went ahead and made the payment. I will probably end up just selling the phone myself because I will more than likely get more for it than any trade in. I wish Verizon would post this awesome deal they are talking about so that I know my gameplan before 3am
