I traded in my iPhone 6 two years ago this month and got that Verizon $650 credit towards my iPhone 7 (I was only paying like $8.50 a month out of pocket for it). I got one payment on it left. Im really put off my the prices apple is charging this time around and also not too keen on the huge sized phones they are offering. Im on the fence between getting the iPhone X (old stock through Verizon) or bothering to get the Xr.

Anyone hear of any leaks of what Verizon will potentially be offering? would prefer the OLED Xs and the 5.8 inch size, but its way too pricey for the 256 GB. Would consider the Xr, better priced, but not sure how I'm gonna like the 6.1 inch size and non OLED screen. I guess it also depends on what the iPhone X price drop looks like.

Hello folks! First time around with Verizon and it seems that there is no way to pay the device up to the upgrade point pre pre-order.

My question is if I perform the upgrade via apple instead of Verizon will it give me the opportunity to pay the remaining amount to be eligible for upgrade or can this *only* be done through Verizon?

How have Verizon preorders been in the past? If I’m logged on right at The beginning what are my chances at a launch day advice?

I posted just above this, as I got the same deal and pay just under $10 for 7+
Verizon website says ‘best iPhone launch offer ever’
Don’t think they could beat the $650 trade in value we got

Yea I saw your post and I agree, having a hard time believing they will take a hit like that again. No way. If they do, I'm all for it though.

Currently have the X 256 GB in Silver. Looking back, I should have got the 64GB. My phone says I’m using only 43 GB.

Is it worth it to upgrade to a 64GB Xs? Would only bring my bill down about $6 a month.

Not familiar with the trade in promos though. Is that just for people not on the Verizon Upgrade Program?
If they have a trade-in promo for the XS, you'd have to first pay off your phone in full to take advantage of it.

I tried to do the same. Customer Service said I had to wait until the phone was available for Pre-Order.

I’m with you on the size factor. iPhone X is what I have now and it’s a good size in your hand. I’m tempted to downgrade to the Xr and save $ on my bill. It is a bit wider, taller, and heavier, which doesn’t really appeal to me but saving almost $15 on my bill every month does sound good.

Exactly what I was thinking. I traded in my iPhone 6 and got the iPhone 7 for essentially free (Verizon was paying my monthly phone installments). If this is going to be their ‘best iPhone launch offer ever’ it’s gunna have to be pretty stellar. I’ll beleive it when I see it. But if it’s good, I’ll totally be up at 3AM ordering. Lol.

I would be stoked if they could match it, but I don't see that coming unless they offer that much for trading in an X from last year.

In Verizon. Is it better to order thru Verizon site or Apple app. Or should I jus have both open and refreshing

I’ll probably have both open and refreshing. I pre-ordered through Verizon last year and didn’t have any issues. I’ve heard conflicting reports on whether or not you have to pre-order through Verizon if you have an outstanding balance to upgrade early, but I’m going to try the Apple Store app first since I’ll be ordering a Series 4 as well.

i hope whatever offer verizon has doesn't require you to sign up for one of their unlimited plans. I'm perfectly happy and paying less on a 12GB shared plan right now and that would be a deal breaker. swappa would most likely be the way i'd go if that is the case.

I upgraded my 6s to 7 because of that same offer. :)

My battery drains pretty fast now - even though it says 84% on the battery health. Fortunately I just plug it in when i'm at my desk at work. It's kind of making me want to upgrade.... I know, I've fallen into the trap. I could just get a battery replacement, but deep down, I think I just want a new phone.

I also did this...and have my phone plugged in at my desk currently because the battery drains pretty fast. Would love a new deal and a new phone this year

Welcome to the thread for the Verizon 2018 iPhone pre-order thread.

If the rumors and leaks are true; which iPhone will you be getting? And are you using the Verizon app, VerizonWireless.com, Preordering at a Verizon store or just camping out on launch day.

Let us know.

This thread will be updated on new information when the New iPhones are launched.

Official Apple Announcement September 12, 2018.

If everything is true I’m going for the highest GB iPhone(even though I don’t need it), the largest phone size and the gold color.

64gb XsMax, but will most likely try to get it unlocked and sim free from the Apple store app. Last year I missed my alarm clock and ordered the next morning with a 2 week delay. Was able to go to my local Verizon store and they had plenty of X's on sale and walked out with one on release day. Will have same plan this year as I expect there to be plenty of XsMax inventory due to the high price and most consumers will opt for the Xr.

One advantage with Verizon is they have an extra $100 if you trade your phone for an upgrade (besides the trade in value of the phone, which for a 64gb X is $585 currently). $300 if you do a new line. Plus I'm most likely going for the $9 total protection which is much cheaper than Apple's theft/loss plan.

Just a heads up anyone giving Verizon their Email Address for this Link: https://www.verizonwireless.com/smartphones/apple-iphone-xs/ stating "Get our best iPhone launch offer ever." this is only to notify you when the iPhone Pre-Orders open. This is not for any sort of trade in Promo. I chatted with a CS Rep and that is what they told me and they told me there will be a Trade in Promo that will Launch on Friday at 12:01 am PDT to concede with the iPhone Pre-Orders.

I don't think a trade in promo will be tired to you changing your plans, but its all a guess and if you look in the past they usually don't tie them to you changing plans.

So does this mean we won’t hear what the offer is ahead of time?

.

Just realize that employees on that level are not made aware of information like this until last minute, otherwise leaks would happen to easily if even a CS Rep knew what was going to be offered. Or their call is being recorded and they can't share the information as could lose their job. Just saying, don't take it as gospel what you were told.
Also launching a trade in promo at the moment iPhone preorders begin is not logical by any means. people will have already made their choices and your promo only works for people already deciding to order via Verizon accounts (apple or verizon or best buy or whatever).
In other words, just wait and see

Yup, But I did get a chance yesterday to talk with a 3rd party non-corporate Verizon store and the store manager there offered to give me the trade in promos once he gets them. When I went yesterday to that store, he said they did not give any out yet and he checked on his computer.

Also this is absolutely not true. Yes Verizon has tied upgrades to plans. A quick search shows that the $300 rebate required you be on their unlimited plan for the iPhone X in October last year.
Sorry but I personally have had to change my plan to get the better trade in as well.

Please realize you are not talking to people that know this information ahead of time. Wait for verizon to announce as a corporation. And DEFINITELY don't use a 3rd party retailer as your info source!!!!

I'm hoping they release more details later this afternoon. It's a pretty dumb marketing strategy to hold this information until the middle of the night when pre-ordering begins. In fact, it doesn't make any sense. My fear is any deal will be tied to an unlimited plan.

Yup. This is exactly why I passed on upgrading to the X last year. My phone is now paid off and I can do what I want with it.

I'm patiently waiting to see if the new promo/trade-in offers will be better than last years. If so, will probably move up to a Xs Max base model, if not I'll keep my 7+, 128Gb iPhone with 97% battery health for a bit longer.

Yes you are right they did make you switch plans to get the better trade in deals but that was only once. All of the other promos they offered in 2017 and 2018 did not. Also I did go to a Verizon Corporate store and the rep there also said there will be a trade in promo that will not force you to change plans, but to make sure I am going to go check with my near by Verizon corporate store to check. Generally all Verizon corporate and non-corporate stores are given access to these promos in the web-portals and another place to keep an eye out is on the Reddit section for Verizon Wireless since there are a lot of reps and CS people who work for Verizon Wireless on there so if something does come out they will post it.
