I would like to preorder a Xs Max and have it shipped to my work. I know when placing an order that’s not a preorder you can change the shipping address. Have any of you had any luck with changing the shipping address on a preorder??

Thank you.

Good luck tonight everyone.

**Last year it was grayed out and I could not change the address.**

Ok so lets say their trade in deal sucks. It is better to buy out my current iPhone X and then resell it right? Rather than trading it in...

I always had success pre ordering via the VZW web site. Never had an issue, unlike some of the horror stories I red from people preordering via Apple.

If Verizon locks it for the first 60 days, it may not work.

Well thats just stupid. It isn't like I am leaving Verizon, I just need cellular network temporarily on my vacation over there. I have done it last year with my old iPhone with out a problem. It better work or I will be really pissed at them.

I am scooping up the Max in that nice new gold color. Haven't heard a word about 'Low stock at launch' that we usually hear every year especially with any new color they offer...not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Here's hoping for the best though! Good luck everyone! Less than 12 hours now.

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here so this is my 1st post. Lets see how this goes :)

I am currently a Sprint customer and I am looking to switch to Verizon. I spoke with them yesterday and told them I wanted to switch over to them. They said they will call me at 3am (Eastern Time, NYC) so I can Pre-Order the IPhone. I want the XS MAX in gold.

My questions that I have for everyone on this thread is:

1) Is it better to go through Verizon or Apple?
2) Is it true that they will call you back when pre-ordering goes live?

I hope they will have some great incentives for new and current customers.

Thanks in advance everyone :p

Verizon.com tends to open before Apple.com on preorder days. So there is that advantage. Verizon also requires you to pay 50% of your phone on payment plan before upgrading. Like most of us here, the X shipped in November so we will have to pay whatever is left to make the 50% during the preorder process through Verizon. I don't think Apple requires this on their payment plan.

If you contact Verizon customer service and ask about promotions ahead of tomorrow, they will certainly tell you. That's what I did. ❤️

[doublepost=1536870264][/doublepost]Per Toms Guide:

"Verizon is making it a little easier on the wallet to share the iPhone love. For a limited time, pre-order an iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone Xs, or iPhone Xs Max and you'll get $700 off your second iPhone purchase. The offer is valid for new and current members, but both devices must be purchased on a device payment plan and customers must open at least one new line of service. If you have an old iPhone you're willing to trade in, Verizon is guaranteeing a minimum $100 trade-in credit when you purchase an iPhone Xs, Xs Max, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus on a device payment plan. Keep in mind the offer will go live when pre-orders kick in on Friday, September 14 at 3:01am ET. In the meantime, Verizon's website isn't listing details just yet. "

So this is a solid deal, but the requirement to open a new line of service kills it.

Checking in, although don't think i'll be staying up until 3am this time. Chances of snagging a release day pre order at 7am? XS Gold 256gb.

Also, I have paid off >50% of my iphone 7. What will the pre order process be like with regard to trading in my iphone 7? Thanks!

Thank you for replying. I guess I’ll just go through Verizon

I tried contacting Verizon, they would not tell me anything

I’m reading you need a new line of service. If someone had a paid off line, could you open a new line and cancel a prexisting one?

Good question. I have 2 phones and 2 tablets with Verizon and have exactly zero interest in getting a 3rd phone line service as I have no need for it. If that ends up being what I would have to do I’ll just take a pass yet another year.

Just saw it. Not really interested being that I’m not opening up a second line...
I share the sentiment. It would be nice if I could in turn use the new line on my dual SIM iPhone Xs Max then give the spare phone to my wife but I doubt they would allow it.

Does nobody care that none of these carrier deals are confirmed?

I know HeyGreggie personally. If he says he spoke to a Verizon rep who gave him the “straight from the horses mouth” info, then I believe him.

Feel free to believe what you like.

That's disappointing :( what a garbage promotion. It's only usable by carrier switchers or people with spouses/kids. Way to alienate your existing user base, VZ

i get that they are trying to increase their customer base, but how do they expect existing customer to take advantage of this promotion. do they expect people to add another line even if they don't have a person to use it? seems pretty ridiculous, but then again, this is verizon. and of course they will spin is as the largest discount they've offered. smh

Hey guys, I’m going back and forth on ordering through Verizon or the Apple app w/ the preorder junk. I don’t like the fact they run your credit just to use one of your own credit cards to auto bill you from. It’s weird, but I really want an XS Max, and like us all I want on release day. Do you guys think one is better then the other in regards to stock within first hour on release?

I have heard that people typically have less issues when preordering from Verizon, but I guess that could vary person-to-person.

It costs a little more to go through Apple, but the phone comes with AppleCare+. Also, they have an annual upgrade program. (I also thought I heard that the activation fee may be waved if going through Apple?)

Verizon will sometimes offer incentives one cannot get through Apple. However, I am not sure if they still have an annual upgrade plan.

I have used both verizon and apple's app. They both work well. They both will not compete against each other so the experience on both are usually the same. Once in a while right at midnight, apple or verizon's app/website might not work right away. Therefore, I use whichever app/website is available right at midnight.
