This “deal” doesn’t work for me only needing 2 lines and I’m not willing to go through weeks of phone calls with Verizon support switching numbers, cancelling lines, etc... for a $33 monthly bill credit. I already went through that headache once when I switched to Verizon.

Good news is they won’t have me locked back in so I can buy sim free unlocked and leave for any other carrier at any time.

I’m wondering the same thing. I switched from atandt after many years to come to Verizon for that same deal you speak of.
I just got home and I can’t believe they still haven’t posted it.

Diehard folks who order as soon as the preorders open are going to be like screw you verizon I am going to order through Apple or switch to a different carrier.

Hey guys, I’m going back and forth on ordering through Verizon or the Apple app w/ the preorder junk. I don’t like the fact they run your credit just to use one of your own credit cards to auto bill you from. It’s weird, but I really want an XS Max, and like us all I want on release day. Do you guys think one is better then the other in regards to stock within first hour on release?

Last year I was able to order a X through Verizon’s website about 20 minutes before the pre-order was supposed to go live and I received the phone on launch day. Meanwhile, a lot of people had trouble getting into Apple’s pre-order page.

So I would definitely try Verizon first.

I never preordered through Verizon before and have 2 questions...

-Can I pay for the phone outright, or do I have to go with a payment plan?

-Can I have it shipped to a Verizon store on launch day instead of my house?

Appreciate the help.

You can pay outright for the phone, instead of payment plan. Can't help you with the shipping. It always comes to my home

I just spoke with Verizon. We have 4 lines me, my wife and 2 kids. Me and my wife’s iPhone 7s are paid in full. The Verizon rep told me I can buy one phone and get the other with with $700 credit. So I would buy let’s say XS and my wife’s Xs would have the $700 credit...I wouldn’t have to add a line.

That being said, I won’t be doing it. I wanted the XR and that’s not one of the available options. This deal applies to the XS, XSmax, old X, 8+ and 8.

What a joke the price of the old X is the same as the XS. Who would buy the X if you can get the new one at same price? The 8+ is $799 when the XR is $750?

I guess I’ll be keeping my 7 and then hope they have a good deal with the XR coms out

I know last year some people had issues with shipping to different addresses. I have my own house but I am still under my parents plan and account so it is there address on the account. Will I be able to ship it to my house or will it have to be delivered to the address on the account?

I'm having issue with the pre-approval on Verizon part using the "Apple Store App". It says "Verizon may require a deposit in order to purchae a new iPhone". I can't seem to pass this message. My account is on auto pay with 0 balance, and my Citizenoneloan is up to date for 12 months payment.

Verizon Reply:
Riley: Upon checking the terms and condition of the pre-order here in verizon. Our pre-order begins 09/14 at 3:01AM Eastern time zone

Apple:
The representative said that they are receiving the same message from multiple users. (Numbers I don't know). But, they do not know the solution to this problem.

I'm having this same exact issue. I called Verizon and they said they can see every time I've done it with a credit check. I said that's weird, I'm upgrading through Apple/Citizen One why is a credit check coming through. He wasn't sure but contacted the credit department and said I was approved every time. The Verizon rep then contact Apple to let them know there is no issue on their end and Apple said it was traffic related, try later. I've been trying since yesterday at various times. I'm on hold with Apple now to see if SOMEONE can see what is wrong. You're the 2nd person on this forum that I've seen have the same issue.

I have used both verizon and apple's app. They both work well. They both will not compete against each other so the experience on both are usually the same. Once in a while right at midnight, apple or verizon's app/website might not work right away. Therefore, I use whichever app/website is available right at midnight.

I have heard that people typically have less issues when preordering from Verizon, but I guess that could vary person-to-person.

It costs a little more to go through Apple, but the phone comes with AppleCare+. Also, they have an annual upgrade program. (I also thought I heard that the activation fee may be waved if going through Apple?)

Verizon will sometimes offer incentives one cannot get through Apple. However, I am not sure if they still have an annual upgrade plan.

Thank you both for the help. I usually do Verizon, but was curious if I should change it up this time!

Isn't AppleCare+ the same price, regardless of buying from Apple vs Verizon?

So when is Verizon going release the details of the actual offer? My wife’s iPhone 7 she got when they had the really good deal two years ago is ready for a new phone.

Normally this bogo $700 off wouldn’t help me at all. I just happen to be upgrading both mine and my wife’s phones. We are giving our old 6s and 7 to her parents and adding them to our plan. Should I go buy a lottery ticket?

Has anyone else been able to get confirmation of this - that no new line is required? I would never trust a single Verizon rep. I bet you'd get different stories if you called back multiple times!

The email has been posted multiple times at.this point on multiple sources. With all of the details

Actually you said you needed to add a line, he is saying you don’t, so this hasn’t been quoted multiple times.

I also just spoke to a Verizon rep who was reading the fine print of the offer to me. Apparently a brand new line is required for the $700 off promotion. Bummer.

Would be nice if Verizon would post the offer (with fine print) on their site so we could actually read it.

It will ship to the address on the account.
