And the funny(?) thing is I just got an email from VZW telling me I am approved for phones as a new customer and to switch over..... note to VZW - I did that last Friday!

Carrier Verizon 2018 New iPhone Pre-Order Thread

So I chatted Verizon because I still haven’t been charged for my 2nd phone I bought at around 4:50am est. this is what they said. I take it with a grain of salt but it makes sense.

So my only concern for those of us who haven't seen any movement is that, what if they don't get enough phones from Apple? I thought it was a little strange that I got a 9/21 ship date when I ordered at 9am EST.
Funny - I talked to a "Charlie" a couple nights ago as well regarding my "$30 upgrade fee". He wished me the best of life and happy I was a customer. It's so far reaching it's not even funny. Wherever Verizon is sending these chats/calls, needs to stop. There's a barrier that's really causing issues and customer service is far from being met.

Its definitely possible. Id even say its likely. But its concerning that were less then 48 hours before release date and a ton of people still haven't even been charged, let alone have their phone ship
I ordered 2 phones at 3:10AM EST and only one shipped back on Monday, finally the second one just shipped today so it appears the systems are catching up. Based on myself and others who were nervous at first but now breathing easy. Both have 9/21 delivery dates now via FedEX (i live in CT).
I’m not super anxious about it like I have been in prior years. Especially since I can probably talk my wife into letting me have hers Friday since we both got the same phone and hers has already shipped with Friday delivery lol
I really hope you're the first person to receive your new phone, your paranoid posts are driving me insane.
I wouldn't be too worried, they're shipping overnight from the Eastern US via FedEx so it could happen as late as tomorrow night.
You will get an email saying your shipment was delayed and they give you a new suggested date.

My tracking information says they are shipping on 9/20, so there still is time. The phones are literally just sitting in a warehouse right now. Mine is in Memphis.
No I ordered the XS Max gold 256gb and I haven't been charged yet.
Yeah I found this out the hard way yesterday when I called Fedex to have them hold. Really dumb in my opinion. I am not a huge fan of UPS, but this is one area they are definitely better on than Fedex.
I have a problem at my apartment complex where the driver of Fedex will park and mark all the packages as nobody home and drive off. Even the apartment office has witnessed it and questioned the driver but the driver lies and says he did even though you could see him sitting in the truck the whole time.
Because of this I want to be able to pick it up at the warehouse, but since I can't I'll have to make sure the apartment complex calls me if they see the fedex truck.
You'll get this on time. The warehouse is near the airport where the FedEx Superhub is (aka where all FedEx packages go through). It'll likely be a late night flight Thursday night/early Friday morning and then taken to a local sorting place where it will get on a FedEx truck for delivery.
Keep in mind, that if people preordered their phone through Verizon, they may have had the fees and taxes deferred to their next bill.
I can say that my GF's iPhone XS Max 256 is saying it is in transit in the states already, with delivery by end of 9/21
Max and AW both ordered with deliver by 9/21... Phone has shipped as of lunch time Watch still shows processing.
UPS is the same way. If you schedule to pick the phone up instead of it being dropped off then they will delay your shipping date by a few days.
That is not my experience, I picked my iPhone X up on day one last year at the UPS warehouse, no shipping delay. The delivery isn't delayed, it's just held at the warehouse. I have done this with other products as well, and never had them delay the shipment past the original date just because I chose to hold it at the warehouse.
Someone already posted on here doing that with UPS and instead of a 9/21 date, they now have something like 9/24 delivery to UPS location.
I am a UPS My Choice member. You can re-schedule drop off dates, changed address for shipping and hold for shipping. I once chose to have them hold my package at a large UPS hub and they delayed my shipment because of it and it was something insignificant.
Ok, I am starting to get a little worried. Perhaps I should call. My order was placed at around 4 am EST Friday morning. I ordered a Max 256 SG. I paid with Paypal. The money still has not come out of my account and no shipping notification. My watch which was ordered separately after the phone was ordered is right on schedule.
I ordered at around 1:30pm CST and got my shipping notice this morning, so you'll *probably* be fine
