Carrier Verizon 2018 New iPhone Pre-Order Thread

Well crap...totally did not think about this! It would not let me select the “this is a business” box when I ordered. I wasn’t worried about it because I figured it was just so the driver would know to deliver during business hours, and I had it sent to my hotel so hours don’t really matter. But this worries me. We will only be there until Sunday morning so if I have to deal with tracking down a phone over the weekend I may have really screwed things up! I wonder if I call FrdEx today if they can get it marked as business in their system?!

My experience with this is that if it’s a “residential” delivery it will not go to a business. Residential trucks do just that, deliver to residences. I know this because I had something shipped to my work that was on a residential truck. At the end of the delivery day the tracking said undeliverable , no such address. After calling and raising hell I was told that residential trucks won’t go to businesses. They won’t even look for the addresss. It’s really stupid but that’s the way they are.

There is no business box. By default all shipments are to businesses, there is only a residential box in UPS or Fedex shipping sites.

The customer service rep must have done this for mine. I tried calling FedEx this morning and he said they can't change it. I would have to contact the sender. But he said that it will be delivered with no issues. I don't think I believe him. Ugh.

I also contacted Verizon and the rep said that "he changed it to business" but it hasn't reflected that on the FedEx site so I don't think I believe him either. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Well there was a box to check, it just wouldn’t let me check it...whether it matters or not, I don’t know.

I will say, in the past I had 2 phones delivered to my office at the time and definitely never marked the order as it being a business, so perhaps they have a way of figuring it out at the sorting destination.

Yep, I do know what you mean. When I ship using FedEx or UPS online there’s a box that says “this is a residential address.”

Can someone help -

I won't be home for delivery tomorrow and tried to call FedEx to request them to hold it at the facility...

FedEx told me, NO, they can't hold it at facility due to Verizon not allowing holds. I said, "okay, I'll just pick up on Saturday with the door tag that is left on my door." FedEx then said NO again - it must be signed for upon delivery.

Has anybody experienced this? If so, what's the solution? I am never home during FedEx delivery times.

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
I talked to a rep at Verizon and he said a lot of phones that were charged last night are waiting for the carrier to pick them up today so as soon as that happens you should receive your tracking email! Everyone who has a 9/21 ship date should be receiving their phones tomorrow. Tomorrow is gonna be a long day.. LOL

Using your tracking number, it will tell you where it is now (for example mine is in Memphis).

I live in the Detroit suburbs so I just searched flights between MEM and DTW on flightaware.com. There are three daily flights FedEx flies on this route (3am, 3:30am, and 3:30pm) knowing that mine is in Memphis and just departed the facility I can narrow down that it will likely be on the 3:30pm flight.

Yes, I got charged last night. I got the declined email notification for Apple Pay around 930p EST and followed the link to pay with my debit. I've been at work logging into my Verizon acct every hr and finally at like 1p it showed shipped with the tracking info. I didn't get the email notification until about 30 min later.

I finally decided to get a watch, so I’m back to stalking my status. The gold aluminum 40mm sport showed a 9/21 delivery, so I went with that, and it’s already processing!

It's always been like that for me whenever I order with Verizon. I just plan to be home all day tomorrow until my phone gets here.

My order that was accepted and shipping 9/21, then declined, then fixed, then never processed, then cancelled, then reordered but for 10/10 shipping now has no ship date on it. I'm thinking that probably means it's finally going to have tracking soon? Don't know. Have any of you had your ship dates disappear and NOT gotten shipping info fairly soon after?
 
I just got an email from fedex reminding me I have to sign for package and has a link to make arrangements to hold it but since many people posted, I don’t want to take the chance it will be delayed.

FedEx is THE WORST! They hold you hostage in your house all day waiting for your package. In some instances, I have waited only to get a “customer was not home” message on the delivery. They blew right past my house and didn’t even stop. I’m in the same boat as you, I keep trying to presign for it online, but it just says “System Error”.

Mine did after I got charged last night around 930p. Then changed to shipped today around 1p.
