I was on the phone for two and a half hours. A three-way call with an Apple person and a VZ person. Eventually, after trying a million things, everyone threw up their hands and hung up. I'm so over this.I've been on tech support for over an hour now, with no possible fix in sight. I already have a call into an apple support engineer as well, they will be getting back to me within a couple of hours they said.
The thing that baffles me is that Verizon can see my new phone on their network on their end, just won't let the verification zip/pin work correctly.
Looks like that is where I am headed. I didn't actually preorder from Verizon themselves, I used the iPhone Upgrade Program, but it shouldn't matter, its a phone with a Verizon SIM inside of it.I was on the phone for two and a half hours. If you can even get yours activated. The customer service is giving me a runaround now telling me that "everyone" is having this issue activating, although my brother bought the same exact phone as me and has been activated on Verizon since 11 AM eastern time today.Any of my macrumors brothers and sister that live in Colorado get your new iPhone delivered yet? I’m in a far off island so I won’t get to experience the unboxing high until Monday when I get home I paid a house sitter to sit at my place all day to sign for it and secure it
Mine left the facility in Tempe at 8:30. Still waiting for it to get to me at Gilbert. Pretty nervous.FedEx is going to 're-attempt' delivery, as per the rep at the shipping center in Tempe, AZ. I told her I have no security camera footage or door tag to show delivery was ever attempted, and that it cannot be reattempted if no attempt was ever made. SILENCE. Amazing how stupid they think people are. Waste Management tried doing something similar when they said my trash cans were not curbside a few weeks ago.

Wow. I have cameras also but FedEx did drop mine off. I would definitely let them know.**** FEDEX. I'M NEVER SHIPPING WITH THEM AGAIN. They attempted delivery half an hour ago and are saying no one was home. Not only did they never show up, which I can prove with my Ring Doorbell and Camera footage, but THERE WAS NO DOORTAG LEFT. I'M SO ANGRY. IT'S A LONG ASS DRIVE TO GET IT FROM THE CENTER AND THEY WON'T TRY AGAIN UNTIL MONDAY.

I bought through Apple as well. Looks like the handoff of information from Apple to Verizon never happened. Verizon had never heard of this phone. Both companies looking really bad today in my view. Well my Fedex driver came around 1:40 to my area.Good to know! I just moved here. Last year I got mine at 11:00 but obviously that time has passed.
It’s not just an activation issue for me. Verizon could see my new XS Max in their system. So it was activated but the verification process is what’s failing me.I know everyone is excited to use their device but at least you have your device, yes activation issues will occur just think of how many people are trying to the same thing as you - activate their phone and or watch.
Verizon is not the only one having issues today - Apple pickup orders are having issues, people cant get their devices or have to wait 2 hours +.
You have your device so chill-out and take a deep breath----Believe me I know Verizon wants you to activate your devices more than you probably know so we can stop calling them, login into our accounts to see the latest status etc....

People get to experience the joy of setting up and exploring their own new iPhone only once every few years (at least for people of modest means). She’s here!!!!!! I picked it up at home while I had a break at work, brought it back to the office with me. It will sit on my desk and torture me for the next 2 hours lol.
