Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

Activation Alert?

So I pre-ordered my phone from Apple.com in the wee morning hours on the 7th. So far everything has been smooth sailing, except this evening I received an email from Apple:
"Dear Apple Customer,
We appreciate your recent iPhone purchase at the Apple Store.
Congratulations! Your iPhone activation has been completed, and your phone number with Verizon Wireless is XXX-XXX-XXXX.
For your reference, the Activation ID of the completed order is: XXXXXXXXXXXXX.X
Thank you for shopping at the Apple Store.
Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team"

Is this normal procedure? I've never preordered a phone from Apple.com so this may very well be what they do.
I just wondered how the phone could be activated when, according to my tracking, it's still somewhere in Hong Kong...

I'm right there with ya. Kansas here, I ordered around 8pm eastern time, 7pm here. Originally it said 10/21, it changed to 10/14 on Saturday morning. I have yet to be charged or see tracking info. I'm worried there's a problem with my credit card or something and my order is going to get screwed up. I might call them tomorrow.

I'm in the SAME boat... except I live in PA and ordered at 11pm on 10/7. My status was originally 10/21 and changed to 10/14 on saturday morning as well. I talked to a sales rep, who said most likely if it is still showing 10/14 tonight and hasn't changed you are on board for the first shipment of iPhones on 10/14. Apparently the boost to the release date was due to several cancellations. Glad to hear from someone in the same boat as me. I wouldn't worry though, I think if there were a payment issue you would be notified on screen during a status check or by phone. It wouldn't hurt to call, you may get lucky and speak to an informed sales agent. :) Good luck and keep us posted!
 
I ordered mine through verizonwireless.com (the only way I could order an iPhone 4S because of my upgrade eligibility - it was a complicated process) and the VZN server is down due to over capacity so I can't check my order progress. However, the verification email says I should get my iPhone on October 21.

This is gonna be a looong two weeks. D:

I ordered a White 16G on the 7th at about 4:15 pm cst in a verizon store where the associate assured me I would get it by Friday. I'm still stuck at

We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 10/14/2011

My husband ordered a Black 16G about an hour and a half before me and his status changed hours ago. :(

I normally wouldn't mind, but I'm going out of town Friday and would really like to get it before I leave.
Granted, I'm not really that worried yet, I would just get a lot more work done if I could see it had changed. ;)

You do know that Apple delivered the iPhone 4's AFTER Verizon did in February, right? So, there is no justification for your post at all.
 
Mine says expected ship date: 10/14 (on verizon site)

I understand that it says itwill ship on 10/14, or is it something else? Would it deliver on the 14th or for sure just ship on the 14th? :confused:

My status just updated looks like they'll b here BY the 14th!! No tracking #'s yet but seems like they are working on it as we type!!;)

I checked a couple hours ago and had the"Order being processed" status, then I couldn't even get on the site...All of the sudden my status was updated to...

This is what mine has been set to since 6:00pm CDT... no CC charge or email. Ordered 32GB Black at 1:55am CDT on Oct 7th (right when pre-order opened).

I'll continue to wait impatiently. :eek:
 
Just checked my pre order status and it says it's being processed to ship with an arrival date of 10/21/11. :/ Think that will change to the 14th? I ordered 4 am on pre order night.
 
I get this stupid error:

"Please check the information you have entered. Data may be missing or may have entered an invalid Pre-Order Number or Last Name."

But when calling them and double checking, they say that the pre-order number is valid and will deliver by 8/13. This means two more days!!! But I doubt it will show up the 13th, more likely the 14th.

Make sure you are using the confirmation # not the order #!! I had the same problem at first..:eek:
