Not going to make much of a difference in the end. Apple gives you the shipping information as it comes from China. Verizon only ships once it is in the states at its distribution centers. So we get ours slightly later. Our phones are in transit right now just like yours we just don't get to watch them come from China. Plus Apple's website didn't open till almost 0400 EST. I have to get up for PT at 0500...I was going for as much sleep as possible.These posts are funny.This is why ordered with apple.com even though I am a Verizon customer. Not sure why anybody would order on Verizon's website over Apple's.

Oh I tried, believe me. Spent over an hour trying to get my order through Apple, kept crapping out. I gave up and ordered through Verizon cause their site was actually able to handle the amount of traffic they were getting.
so if our credit cards were charged.. that means the phone has been shipped, right? maybe not to us but to some verizon warehouse/distribution plant?

There policy is they don't charge your card unless your device is getting shipped within 48 hours. So all of us that either have holds or charges on our cards, I would expect to see tracking information pop up tomorrow.
any verizonwireless.com orders have tracking yet??? I have a feeling a bunch will pop up tonight, or early morning
I think one guy said he did but I don't think he was paying attention to the thread and ordered from apple.com.

If your order says ship 10/14 as of now, it's likely staying that way. My sales rep in my local store told me that if I don't receive a shipment status tomorrow to cancel my order and he will have one held for me on Friday.

yeah- it seems apple.com orders get to see them come from china... a little bit more fun I guess, but less worrying and panic at the same time!

There was a problem with porting numbers from AT&T on my order, so a supervisor called me. He said phones would ship tomorrow via 2-day, and Thursday via overnight, all for delivery on Friday. It's possible he was as clueless as the other reps quoted here but the information was so specific it seemed like something they must have been told.
Possibly. More will be clear tomorrow when people get their tracking numbers. Although if your card was charged or had your available credit deducted, I still think you will get it by Friday.
Yeah it seems that Verizon is shipping from there distribution centers in the states, which makes sense. So we will have information as soon as they are on their way.
It is the slowest for multiple reasons! I am at a military college and I get my ring this weekend! (That's a huge deal for people in military colleges)

kinda sad... but yes. this summer i had my deviated septum corrected. i had these huge tubes up my nose for a week. it seemed like the longest week of my life before they took them out.. but i think this is dragging even more. should by studying for a limnology exam.. fail.

yeah the reps have all told me different things.... Ive actually been moving phones around my different lines... gave my wife my iphone 4 so my line is ready for the 4S (called different times for different lines, and walked into a store at least once today) and each time I "casually" asked about order times and dates and got a different answer every time... the only one that had any clarity and knew what they were talking about was the internet sales department. they were very helpful about my order!

I switched myself back in February when my contract was up, moving the rest of my family now. Feels great to be taking a $5000/2 year contract away from AT&T after years of lousy services.
Verizon customers like myself who are eligible for an upgrade still had one $30/$50 New Every Two discount to use. The VZW website applied this automatically for me; that wouldn't have been the case on the Apple website.

it's because Verizons' was working when apples wasn't and they both get the same result!
I have the same exact message now save the fact that my order number is in the low 5k range and not the 26k range (thanks to another poster who posted a working link above, since my email link has gone 503).
The charge showed up on my MasterCard earlier today.
Around 6 PM on the 7th. My original date said 10/21 ship but yesterday it changed to the 14th.
hmmmm.... thats like borderline cutoff between getting the 14th and the 21st.... the cutoff for getting a 16gb device was either 6 or 7... we'll see tomorrow I guess huh>
Ya im so nervous. I have a good feeling that ill get it on the 14th because they moved my date up.
