Like the rest of the crowd I finally got updates to the tracking number this morning after being in the "Label created" status most of yesterday.

2nd day air, but shows estimated delivery for tomorrow by end of day.

ordered 5:30am EDT on 10/7 - 64GB Black 4s - via vz wireless site.

grrrr...mine has has a departure scan from San Diego. Originated in Ontario.

Too bad it didn't make the truck for delivery.... :(

Is it bad that I don't have a tracking number yet, even though my status still says "your preorder will deliver by 10/14/2011"...?

I called Verizon and they said the cutoff for overnight shipping is 4:30p. Should I be concerned now?

Kind of the same spot here; ordered two 4s, a black 16gb and a black 64gb through VZ.

I received the "order has shipped" email yesterday for the 64gb (FedEx is the carrier and it shipped out of the greater LAX area) however still nothing on the 16gb.

Upon checking the VZ order status page it simply notes "your preorder will deliver by 10/14/2011", which I hope is accurate!

ETA: also of note is that FedEx is reporting the package to weigh 2.0 lbs/.9 kg. Wondering if they just put both phones in the same box and did not update the info.

I live in Chula Vista (suburb of San Diego). Just checked the tracking status this morning and it says it's scheduled for delivery TODAY.

Maybe I'll get lucky.

This is very false!! No Iphone shipped from Missouri! Especially On preorder day! If you were a lucky one to get one early it most likely shipped from china! I said most likely!

For all of you saying the status just says shipping label created at least be happy UPS has an actual acknowledgement of your package. My tracking number still doesn't come up with anything in the system making it hard to believe if they haven't made a label yet and it's 2 day how is it going to get here by Friday like stated on the VZW site.

Same here. I have a tracking number without any tracking history. Everything seems to be okay. It still says that I have a set delivery for the 14th, but I want to see where my package is like everyone else! :( lol Really though.

By plane?

Just got an update from UPS, says origin scan 10:24 in KY. My phones coming to NY.

Same here, but mine is going to Connecticut. Does anyone think that these are flying out tonight and we wont see any changes until then? Or are they going to be on a truck? I google mapped Louisville to my location and it told me 14 hours. That makes me think its getting on a plane. Also, "UPS 2nd Day Air" might be a hint..

FedEx vs. UPS

just different lingo...

So. Its Thursday, and i STILL havent gotten an email from Verizon. My order is still "sent for processing." And my credit card doesnt show a charge on it.

So I used the FedEx reference trick and failed. I used the UPS refernence trick and failed.

Then I wondered why in the FedEx instructions, it told me to use an N instead of a W like mine had. Suddenly I put all the pieces together and realized I didnt have to use the N. Or the 2.

Then-walla, got my tracking info.

Oh, and whoever said that unlimited data people will lose their unlimited when they go to 4G is lying. The Unlimited plan does not have a way of differentiating whether you are 3G unlim or 4G unlim, so when you upgrade, guess what- still unlimited.

Trust me, there is a Verizon tweet out there that goes over this.

Yay free phone.... ha

So got my shipment confirmation email from Verizon, and my UPS tracking page is populated with scans etc, showing it sending from Memphis. However, my credit card has not been charged. Yay free stuff! :p

mine's at the local facility. i gave fedex a call and they told me i couldn't pick it up because it's "containerized"
this basically means it's bundled up with other packages, so they won't get to the container until tomorrow morning which was the schedule date of delivery. :(

You are correct!

The only reason we have locations on the map is because the "My Package" program is translating the origin information from the tracking number. My rational mind is telling me everything is fine, but I'm also thinking that these things are still sitting at the entry location and when they finally start moving they'll move at 2nd Day Air pace, which would put them here Saturday at the earliest. And my work location isn't open on Saturday, so that will put delivery on Monday! Looks like I might be heading to a store in the morning...:(

You are correct! My UPS Tracking was just updated:

Louisville, KY, United States 10/13/2011 10:19 A.M. Origin Scan
United States 10/12/2011 6:22 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Scheduled Delivery:
Friday, 10/14/2011, By End of Day

My phone was shipped UPS 2nd Day Air. The largest UPS air hub in the world is about 20 minutes from my house in Louisville. However, my phone originated in Memphis, TN and appears to be on a truck heading for Louisville (it has already passed through Nashville, TN). I guess 2nd Day AIR is just a clever name for "we will send it the cheapest way possible in order to make sure it takes 2 days to deliver."

I'm not mad, just confused as to why that wasn't planned better. If they have a pallet-load of iPhones in Louisville (which they obviously do based on other peoples' tracking updates), they could have shipped mine by UPS Ground and it would have gotten here in 1 business day.

Ordered Saturday...

Just some more information for everyone.

I ordered two phones around 5 am on October 7th, a 32GB black and a 16GB white. I cancelled the 16GB white and ordered a 32GB white at 8:10 am on October 8th. I've called Verizon yesterday and today. Both times they've indicated that the white phone will be delivered tomorrow (I already have tracking information for the black phone ordered early Friday morning).

The individual I talked to yesterday indicated that 10 am on October 8th was the cut-off for Friday delivery of the larger (32 and 64GB) phones. The lady I talked to this morning seemed to think that no phones ordered on the 8th would be delivered on the 14th, but then found that the white phone's order was completed yesterday, however tracking information is not yet available.

The black phone is being shipped two-day via UPS. Customer support indicated that the white phone will be shipped via FedEx (I assume next day).

I guess 2nd Day AIR is just a clever name for "we will send it the cheapest way possible in order to make sure it takes 2 days to deliver."

"You get what you pay for". If you were running a shipping company, you would do the same. It is business.

Your phone is probably on a pallet in a truck full of pallets. Each phone on a pallet probably has a different destination. They aren't going to fish through to find individual boxes like you are thinking. When it gets to the proper hub, then they sort.

Phones were picked up by Fedex in Memphis at 8am yesterday. Status screen shows them arriving in Memphis at 8pm and there have been no further updates. Fedex is making darn sure the things don't arrive early!

Finally! I received an email from Verizon this morning with Tracking Number (via FedEx). My New phone should arrive tomorrow. Thanks to all in this thread for being a "support group" through the dark times that the VZW Order Status Pages bring.

Best of luck to all, and enjoy your new phones :apple:
