Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

In Transit: On Time

Just changed to "In transit: on time" for 10/14 delivery as of 9:47 AM after sitting at "A UPS shipping label has been created" since yesterday afternoon. (Origin Scan => Kentucky)

Based on recent comments, it looks like UPS/Kentucky has just opened up the valves on the iPhone delivery floodgate. I'll bet a lot of UPS drivers will be getting some OT tomorrow.

ps: hope I end up liking this thing. I am sure I will definitely miss my Google Navigation with street view. :confused:
 
I live in Chula Vista (suburb of San Diego). Just checked the tracking status this morning and it says it's scheduled for delivery TODAY.

Maybe I'll get lucky.

Well, like many, mine is in transit from Louisville Ky. It says delivery by the end of the day tomorrow, even though i live in Southern Indiana so Louisville is like 3 hours away....so close, so close. Do you guys really think that it will not come until 7 or 8 at night or is that just a rough estimate? I'd rather not waste all of my day sitting at home lol

Calm down.
UPS/FedEx carries a lot of packages for just as many destinations, they can't make a beeline right for you.
Recently I had a package go past my house two times before finally arriving. According to Google Maps they turned a 30min trip into a 7+hr one, but I still got my package on time.
Just let UPS/FedEx do their job.
 
I'm on the same truck as a lot of you guys. Mine just arrived in KY as well. I am located in Philadelphia and the package is on time for a friday delivery.

I was also grandfathered in with the unlimited. Wondering if it's for the whole 2-year contract, though, or just until the end of December when mine originally expired...

Where do you live? West Chester is really close to me and I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation. I was just wondering if a bunch of phones are there and mine will just be delivered standard tomorrow instead of overnight. I am in northern DE, so this would make sense. Or at least I am hoping.....

They give an End of the Day to almost everyone. Because If they promise you a time, And they can't get it in there in time..It's so avoid complaints, etc etc. You'll get it the normal UPS deliver time where you live.:)

well.. I live in Maryland - but northeastern - near northern DE... when I go into the office (normally work from home)... I go into Newark DE... I just got my tracking info... and it's coming overnight. I bet that you get something soon and it will be the same (an overnight - just getting in the system) :cool:
 
Oddly enough mine left Memphis TN at 419 am and arrived in Nashville TN at 9am. I figured they would've flown in to Columbus from Memphis.

I'm not saying that your lying but aren't all the iPhone packages 1.00lbs??? I know ordering more than one is a possibility, but I thought all the phones were being shipped separately.

EDIT: + That tracking says shipped/billed on 10/7/11 there is no way that Verizon shipped it on the 7th.

My Precious is on it's way to The UPS shipping hub in Louisville as part of a bulk shipment I guess. I assume it'll be on it's way back to San Diego later today,
 
I'm not sure how it is w/ verizon specifically, but I had to have the delivery address changed for an order that was coming in to my from another online merchant. It was pretty simple. You make a call to the merchant, they contact UPS, and then it gets delivered to the new address. It did however delay my shipment by a day from what I remember as it got rerouted. Also, I spoke to Verizon today about how my perhaps changing the delivery address if it didn't get delivers by Friday as promised. She said that she could follow up and change the delivery address once the package appeared as actually being in the UPS system rather than just having the shipping label generated.

No. Only Verizon can change the address and its very difficult to get them to do it for you. If the package is like most and starting to leave KY this morning there is nothing you can do at this point. It will arrive at the address on file with Verizon.

My package was "in" Coatesville, PA" about 2 hours southeast from me about 3 hours ago but now based on 3 different tracking sites it is saying that the package is in Louisville, KY.

Anyone else seeing tracking changes like this?

You're right. I had two packages scheduled for delivery and I mixed the tracking numbers up. The phone is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. The one for today is something else. Oh well.

my contract has been expire since Dec of last year and it still grandfathered me in for the entire 2 year subscription. You only lose it if you upgrade to LTE.

It seems some are being shipped separately, but some (like mine) are being shipped together. I received 2 emails re: shipping (one for each phone) but both emails had the same tracking number, and the package is listed as 2 lbs.

From what I can tell, there isn't a "typical" batch yet. Everything is random. :p

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too....I can't imagine this box actually contains an iPhone.

EDIT: Bummer...well tomorrow is right around the corner....it's gonna be a long day for this crowd.
 
For all of you saying the status just says shipping label created at least be happy UPS has an actual acknowledgement of your package. My tracking number still doesn't come up with anything in the system making it hard to believe if they haven't made a label yet and it's 2 day how is it going to get here by Friday like stated on the VZW site.

Yep, now in KY from Coatsville.
I bet it was never there and only in KY. Im sure you will get it tomorrow. Stop worrying.
