Charged or not charged. If you have a expected of 9/25 you'll get it. They typically charge the card when the initiate the shipping process, this happens when they hit the pallet your phone is on.
 
This is the last time I order from Verizon. My AMEX was flagged for fraud. Same thing happened 2 years ago with my Chase card. I called AMEX and cleared the charge and then called Verizon to submit my payment info again. They said everything is good and I will receive on the 25th. However, as others have stated my Verizon status page still says "payment not taken yet." I recalled Verizon and they said my order says paid and preparing for shipment on their end. They still say I am good for the 25th as well. We'll see!
 
I had the same Chase card problem. I called Verizon, they reran the charge, and 2 hrs later I received an email that my order shipped. The only problem I have a tracking # but it is with USPS. I never saw Verizon ship with USPS. Any one else??
 
when i did my pre-order with Verizon, i purchased the apple care- no big deal till I found out it was standard apple care not the apple care plus for 129.00 on the newer models. i called Verizon to see if this will be honored- they said call apple. applecare said to have verizon take the apple care off or purchase the plus. verizon says that is apple's product , they have to fix it. back and forth for almost 3 hours. finally, at my wits end, I spoke to a verizon rep that called apple herself to try and resolve this. I hate some phone support people that have that nasal speech to hide an accent or that is the way they are taught to seek, maybe? This person said that they can only resolve the problem when i have my physical phone. i could not even get an straight answer as to what they would do. just have me pay the difference or the plus apple care? Verizon offered to cancel the order and resubmit but that would put me at the back of the line- My expected delivery is 10/7 now. i have to wait for the phone to arrive, go and get it activated, then take it for set up( i am not doing this myself)- there is a verizon kiosk 50 feet form the apple store and they can do activation. i prefer apple for the set up. personal preference. I'm glad i noticed the price difference on the apple care when my friend was doing his pre-order. I would not have questioned this and later if i needed to use the apple care, I would only then find out that i bought a 97.00 brick.

I'll be interested to see how this plays out. I also bought the AppleCare from Verizon for $99. I think they just misprinted it. There is no such thing as just AppleCare for the iPhone now. If necessary, I'll just cancel it when I get my phone as I want the protection plan and not just an extended warranty
 
Has anyone ordered a new verizon wireless line for their pre-order? if so, does it show in "my orders"? mine only shows the phone which I'm upgrading.

but i got 2 emails with separate status numbers/order numbers

Your order has been completed but a tracking number has not yet been assigned. You will receive an email with your tracking information once the package ships. We apologize for the delay.

I saw how people were being charged. I ordered before midnight on the 12th so I was sure my chard should have been charged.

I called VZW (again) and 10 minutes into the conversation I KNEW something was wrong.

20 minutes later I get told my order is there but for some reason they cannot get it to charge my card. My card number is there but it refuses to charge the order.

I get told they just need to reprocess the order and I ask if he meant canceling the order and starting a new one. He says that is exactly how they do it.

I told him that I expected to get it delivered the 25th as I was among the first to preorder and there is no way anyone who ordered an a hour later should get their phone before I do.

He tells me that he sees they are still available to order now and still get it on the 25th. I call bulls&#$* and tell him there is no way that would happen. I jump to the VZW webpage and it shows a delivery date of 10/14. He tells me that he sees that now and back on hold I go.

40 minutes into the call and he tells me his supervisor is going to escalate it to put my order back in the front of the line but since it is late Friday nothing will happen until Monday or Tuesday.

I say that it is cutting it really close and I have zero confidence that they will get this done right, and I emphasize that with a zero, nada, none, absolutely no confidence. He tells me that his supervisor told him he will get it set up so the phone delivers on the 25th.

I ask to speak to the supervisor and he tells me he has worked with iphone pre orders for 3 years and there are always glitches in the system and he has been able to always get the orders fixed so those who preordered still got their phones on launch day.

He tells me that he has to route the escalation to a higher manager and he has done this exact thing before and gives me the assurance it will get done. Then he adds there are no guarantees because of the iphone limited stock. I tell him that isnt an acceptable answer. There is no reason there should not be a guarantee. I did what I had to do to get it ordered in the middle of the night and they should manually pull a phone from stock if they have to.

He refused to give any guarantee.

Im so pissed and will be all weekend until I call his cellphone Monday. (I managed to get that from him). And I will continue to call him every step of the way......
 
Update:

So I called Bank of America and they said there was no way they could undecline the order unless I had some sort of authorization code. So then we just decided I needed to get Verizon to put the charge through again.

I called Verizon and described the situation the support rep put the charge through again and it popped up on the card this time without being declined. Then he checked and said it went through and it's now in shipping phase. My check order page still shows payment not received though. Fingers crossed my phone gets here next Friday!

a long read, didn't intend to indulge in all of it, but I did..

i think you're being a little too nervous. most things won't charge your card until its shipped, it may not even hold money on your account.

ie. My apple watch, i pre ordered, took weeks (when it shipped) till my card was charged. Anything i order through my amazon prime doesn't charge my credit card until i receive the package. you'll be fine, as long as you don't get an email saying your order was declined due to payment method
 
Card being charged :) I also noted for the first time, the My Orders screen has our devices with a return option, like they're real products (earlier just today it was like a placeholder, and had "no return", yeah, since we don't even have them yet ... :D)

That does suck. I called to be sure everything was ok with mine as I've yet to see any movement. I was reassured everything was and I still haven't. I was an early order and figured I would have seen something happen by now. I may call back to see if there was a problem with the card.

Sorry to hear that :( hopefully they can resolve things for you. I checked my account to see if I've been charged and didn't see anything from Verizon so figured I'd get it late or just hope it's work itself out. Then I remembered to check my pending charges and found it in there.

So if anyone's in the same boat, check your pending charges! My bank separates them out so I don't see pending charges from the main account balance screen.
 
Just saw that my device payment agreement on vzw.com has been updated to origination date of today for the retail price of my new 6s+. The time is getting closer.
 
Still no charge and still showing processing. Called AMEX ahead of time to check and authorize the sales tax charge thanks to the people reporting in here. Nervous about the lack of movement as I preordered at 2:58 am est.
 
After my Verizon order payment declined fiasco, I just checked my order status and it no longer said "Payment not taken yet." And was back to normal with a delivery date of 9/25. Then I refreshed the page and it was back to no payment and n/a delivery date. Verizon is so confusing o_O
 
Verizon suuucksss!!!! I got email from them that they couldn't process payment cause of the bank blah blah. So annoying.
