Probably because by default they advertise the AppleCare+ included price. I think you can get it without it, though. My gripe is the hard credit check they do. It just seems silly to ding someone for an iPhone.

Having come from a family business where I watched people with ridiculous credit walk thru the door consistently, I'm also overly sensitive to this. I'm not sure I'd even want the "ding" for a loaded Mac Pro, but at least it would be worth consideration.

I might be wrong but don't the carriers do the same when u start a new device payment plan?

It can be a $1k+ loan so I understand the credit check and I don't mind that so much since they generally have very little impact after the first couple months. If u are doing another big loan in the near future I can see being hesitant about the hard check though. Just my 2 cents..

I don't know, honestly, but I don't think so if you have an existing account since that was done at time of service creation. They didn't, that I know of, when I did it with Verizon this week. If they do it's a soft check, because I haven't gotten any monitoring notifications. I've had my account with Alltel/Verizon since 2003, though. I just happened to have my number on another carrier, and my wifes on Verizon. I went back.
 
So, I ordered 2 iPhone 6s Pluses 64gb 1 silver and 1 SG on 9/26. They said ship date was 10/12. On 10/12 that changed to 10/19. On 10/14 the SG shipped and is now at the store. (I ordered from a retailer bc my friend works there) and the silver plus order was canceled. WTF! Now, having to reorder it, ship date says 11/2. Verizon has no clue why it was canceled and couldn't do anything about it but offer me a $25 credit. Anyone else have that issue?
 
According to the website, my 6S+ shipped yesterday but the iPad Air 2 that I ordered with it still hasn't shipped. This is from a 9/27 order. WTF? Those are a dime a dozen at this point.
 
Update:

The local Best Buy where I was able to snag my 64GB SG 6s+, got a shipment of two RG 64GB 6s+. I grabbed one of those and cancelled my Verizon order. That means two more phones are now freed up!!

Got my 6s+ 64gb space gray today! Ordered 9/25, with original expected ship date of 10/12. Moved to 10/19 this Monday then shipped yesterday. Not sure what I'll do now that I don't have to check this forum all day. Good luck everyone!
 
Just got off of the phone with Verizon. So there is now a hold on customers and VZW agents ordering the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus (mainly Plus) due to them not being able to meet demand. So my order for the 64gb Space Gray 6s Plus (ordered 9/28) is still pending with new ship date of 10/19 (original ship date 10/12). She said I will probably not receive any info tomorrow and should wait until Monday 10/19 because shipping doesn't happen over the weekend. This is going to be a long weekend of status and thread checking. Cheers to the freaking weekend!
 
Still waiting on movement for my 9/26 order for 64gb SG plus.

EDIT: Pending charge has arrived.

This is awful. And their stores probably still don't have any.
 
Mine arrived at the local sorting center yesterday evening. Thought they would deliver today, since they normally deliver the next morning. They held on to it. :/ So, I won't get it until tomorrow. :)

So, I just noticed I got charged for my 9/27 orders and a check of status identified "Your order is currently being processed. Please check back later." I'm assuming there is some movement which is better than the adjusted from 10/12 to 10/26 shipping date email I received earlier this week.
 
My order has officially shipped via FedEx!! 128g RG 6s +, 2 64g RG 6s+, 64g G 6s+. Ordered on Sep 13.

Will FedEx deliver these on a Saturday? Shipping says will be delivered Monday, but if they shipped today with 2 day shipping might I see them on Saturday?
 
That's what I was told too. The sales rep said that it was best to order the phone online or with a sales rep through the customer service line.

Hope they do something to prevent themselves from ending up in this position again next year. Needless to say, after my situation, I will not order from them again.

I had quoted your original post, before you added this other stuff.

I guess it is best, if you insist on buying it from them. I walked in another store and walked out with the phone, a day after cancelling with them. They sent me their iphone 6S promo text a couple days ago, so there was no incentive to buy from them, if they'll still give you their trade-in deal afterwards.

What time did it ship out?

*edit* Actually, the retailer must pay extra for it to be delivered on a Saturday. Not sure if Verizon does that.
