That's a good idea. Verizon will get the phone to you when they get the phone to you (for most of us, that's 9/25).

Even if you have a tracking # the only thing you can do with it is watch the phone sit in the warehouse.

But its more of a sure thing compared to "I hope it ships by Thursday"

You need to trust that Verizon will do what it takes to get you your phone on time. Whether that's shipping it today and having it sit in the warehouse or having it ship Thursday overnight, they'll get it to you.

Verizon has not done one single thing to earn any trust. All I got was days of repeated assurances the order was fine even though it did not show up in my plan order history, others in my plan getting order history and completed orders, a claim all orders that came in before midnight were being canceled, etc.....

As I told the Verizon supervisor Friday, I have zero, nada, no confidence in Verizon. After an hour on the phone he decided to 'reprocess' my order because he did not think it would charge my card. He said the new order has a deliver date of 10/15 but he would expedite it to ensure delivery by the 25th. Then he said he actually cannot do that but his supervisor can early next week.

Then my card gets charged yesterday and the ship date changed to yesterday. Im pretty sure it shipped (despite the VZW supervisor saying he canceled the order). I really want that tracking number because I know then the order is actually shipped.

Received tracking information through Verizon check order page today at 8:10am

Currently leaving MEMPHIS, TN through FedEx

My order still just pending. Guess I should've waited until 3 am to place the order since everyone who ordered after is getting their tracking. It's concerning since one person mentioned that the orders before 3 am est wouldn't go through. After speaking with Amex they said they only got the $1 authorization on the 12th. So I'm not sure. I've never preordered online so I'm worried.

Rose gold 6s+ 128gb could also be the cause but... Yeah. Not liking this experience so far.
 
:( It's not giving me the option. I can see it but where it says "customize delivery" its grayed out and I can't click on it.
It may not be available until closer to the delivery date. I'd try Thursday afternoon/evening to see if anything changes. I was able to "schedule" delivery with my replacement turbo last week (obviously I didn't, as it didn't require a signature). I was curious as to if I could do it with my 6s+ order though.

But try and wait until closer to the delivery date. It may not be available right away for some reason. If Thursday comes around and you still can't do anything, then I would give FedEx a call and see if they can help you out. I really hope we can customize these deliveries. I'd rather not spend my Friday waiting for a delivery :p

9/25 is the delivery date. It will be shipped before that and held at a fedex location and delivered Friday.

Ive read of people having the same problems with the reps time and time again. They cant tell many times exactly what is going on with orders and often give bad info out.

Judging from years past, the preorder deliver date often shows up as the ship by date and the deliver by date. I had more than one reo tell me it would ship on the 25th. I reminded them it was the preorder deliver date and they repeated that according to what they see, it will ship on the 25th.

Unfortunately a lot of people have experiences that bad. Whether with pre-orders or with general account issues. I was up at 11:40 and ran into an account issue so had to get on with chat. Then chat claimed I had to have it billed to account even though that's obviously not allowed. Took her 30 minutes just to place the order, only for her to say I had to call billing to have it billed to account. Talked to them and there was no history of the order. So of course had to start all over so my order wasn't placed until 1:30 with a delivery date of 10/7. The week before I had two different chat people insist that I couldn't switch upgrades between phone numbers, only for the last one to finally realize it can all be done online. I don't know how the training of the staff works but something is obviously needed.

I dont think its a glitch. Its poor programming.

It's been that way for at least the last two iPhone releases. Ship Date = Delivery Date. Some places say ship, some say delivery. And 9 time out of 10 the customer service reps have no idea what they're talking about. They will cover their ass and tell you ship date = ship date most of the time, but when it comes to iPhone pre-orders for some reason it never has, based on my experience.

I've owned every iPhone and have preordered many. Mine is still pending with no credit card charge yet. Not worried at all. My phone is most likely still in China, who cares. I always got my phone from Verizon on the date in the confirmation email.

ordered 9/12 around 930am est for a 128gb Rose Gold 6s !

Was charged yesterday, and tracking information provided today !

phone is local, and will be delivered 9/25 by 3pm !

also excited to have earned a 150$ gift card by purchasing through xfinity portal !
