Verizon.com: Preorder thread

Correct. Just turn on the phones and set them up via the iOS screens. That will activate them with Verizon. The last activation that I did, I didn't have to do anything else besides the normal iOS setup. The Verizon system did the rest. No SIM swapping or calling customer service.

Fedex smartpost. I cannot believe and of these phones are going that way. They are next day air.
 
My order of 64GB 6s + on 9/12/15 @ 2:06AM shipped last Saturday via FedEx. Showed movement on that Saturday, but nothing since. Currently Sitting in Newark, NJ. No charge to my CC yet. Showing overnight delivery on the 24th, FedEx expected delivery by 3pm on the 25th.
 
Has anyone been able to call FedEx and get the delivery held at a sort facility to be picked up rather than wait all day to be delivered?

Nope, according to FedEx, Verizon requires one failed delivery attempt before they can reroute to delivery to another FedEx location.

Try calling Verizon and see if they can put it through for you.

Oh yeah, that's true, that's pretty much:

Load into plane
Land plane in delivery location
Put on FedEx truck
Deliver to DT's door

(There's a final step where DT makes small talk with the hot FedEx delivery chick...)








... and a final, FINAL step where she says, "Sir, I have to get back to work..."

As long as your account is current, you're eligible to upgrade and you accepted the terms and conditions, this would be done online during your checkout or after you place a phone order, you should have gotten an order confirmation right away. Check your junk folder? I would call Verizon and make sure there's nothing holding it up.

I am new to this game. My 6s is "in transit" with Fedex last scan Memphis TN. I am in the NE. Says shipped 9/24 to receive 9/25 but I got my tracking number Saturday. Pretty pumped for this phone. Been using a 4s for two yrs.
 
Verizon support rep (via web chat) about USPS :

Verizon rep: "I am double checking it for you to make sure this gets taken cared of correctly. Usually, we ship devices via FedEx or UPS and if it is not delivered, that is the time FedEx or UPS ship it back to us via USPS."

Verizon rep: "I am seeing here that the device is shipped via FedEx so there is nothing to worry about. We use USPS if the device will be shipped back to us and not if the device or order is to be shipped to customers."

Me: ..But my status shows USPS sir...What is my Fedex tracking # then? I would like to track my figgy pudding sir.

***...10 minutes pass...no response...*** - Guess the figgy pudding comment confused him.

Verizon: "Thank you for patiently waiting!"

***...6 minutes pass...no response...***

Me: "Where's my figgy pudding sir?"

Verizon: "Since the order has just been released from the warehouse, the device will be delivered via UPS and will be shipped back via FedEx." .. "IT shows here that the tracking number is still premature that is why I am not able to see the details yet. It might take 1-24 hours for the tracking number to be updated with details. Your UPS tracking number is 1Z...and I highly suggest you check it after at least 24 hours for details. I am sorry for the confusion earlier."

Me: "Huh? ... Where's my figgy pudding sir?"

Verizon: "The device is shipped with UPS. Not USPS. Check back in 24 hours"

Me: "I like figgy pudding. Bye".

***EDIT***
Got an email from Verizon with a UPS tracking # about 10 minutes after this conversation.

On MyVerizon, order now shows as pending, but on billinaz's special preorder tracking page he found it's still "we recieved your order and it is in process". Sigh.

Both mine and my wife's preorders show that same thing. Expected delivery of 10/7. I'm hoping we will get them sooner.
 
I've got movement on mine. I started my order at 12:59 MDT and completed it at 1:03am MDT. This morning I got my UPS tracking number.

In the last hour it changed to having working UPS tracking.

I have a ship date of 9/24. If prior posters are right and that is the delivery date I will be happy as I am off on a long weekend on Friday morning and I will have to wait until Sunday night otherwise (I planned this trip on the assumption the phone would be available last weekend :()

A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated.

09/24/2015
Estimated Delivery:
Friday, 09/25/2015, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries)


So UPS has not scanned it yet. I dont think it has been delivered to UPS yet.

Still waiting to see where its first scan is.
 
Verizon wouldn't allow me to change the shipping address. So I'm hoping ups can either change it, or have it delivered to a ups store.

That really blows. I hope I can have it held then. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

No, they are delivering it on the 25th, shipping on the 24th.

If it is in the US it will sit somewhere until going to you Friday. If it is still in China we can follow the progress East.

With UPS I've never had an issue asking them to hold it at the sort facility. I did it with my Apple Watch and it made the whole process much simpler.

If you do want to do this make sure to specifically ask for the sort facility and not a store. In the past I've had it sent to the store and it is a crapshoot if it is there that day or if it delays it a day.
