Then I wonder what am I getting? I'm using the tacking number provided to me from Verizon for my order status page. I'll keep you guys posted once I get home from work which is 5 hours from now
I did find it weird at first that it went USPS but then I started thinking that maybe because there's so many shipments Apple would use any carrier available to deliver.
i am curious as to what you are getting... But i have read here somewhere the a few people did receive USPS tracking numbers (UPS have been known to outsource a lot of their deliveries to USPS. Note: Amazon)

Ok Now I'm thoroughly confused. I have a tracking # with UPS with something in Memphis and a valid USPS tracking # as well from PA. I only ordered 1 phone and it appears they shipped me 2.
Forgot to mention that I ordered my wife the 128GB RG 6S+ last night when her upgrade became available. The date is slated for 10/21. 64GB was already at 11/4. 16GB was also 11/4. Not as bad a wait as last year but still flying off the shelves especially when Apple reportedly had a much larger supply available. Very exciting times I'm nowhere near as anxious as I was with the Watch wait lol.

Switching back to Verizon, and iOS (I go through phases every few years of something new). Hoping the 10/14 date moves forward, it did with the 4s when I ordered that late. Now I'm just hoping my HTC M8 keeps charging until it gets here. lol.

it was confirmed a few pages back by someone who contacted a verizon rep that they indeed send empty boxes to return your old phone in, which is what you are probably getting.No, I didn't. The USPS one's are verizon activation guides. I called the rep because I had 2 tracking #'s. The UPS one is the phone and they are sending activation guides thru USPS.

I have yet to receive an email from Verizon with my tracking number. I got it through the site. This seems very discombobulated.
activation guidelines is some bull. why is only like THREE people getting them then? its got to be something else, again if he said he has edge, its probably to return his phone.

They may include a promo code for you when your phone arrives, so don't do anything just yet. I'd wait about 2 weeks before trading it in (and maybe get in touch with an online rep/phone rep to see if they have the current promo for you. if VZW doesn't want to offer you much, take it to best buy. they were going to offer me $100 for my 5 and $25 for my 4, so I imagine the 4s would be somewhere in the $50-70 range. Then just sell the gift card on ebay or go to one of those cash for gift card kiosks)
The trade-in was pretty simple. Verizon sent me a package via USPS and it was the weirdest thing. You get this "envelope" looking thing inside of a regular brown box. You take your label out and then put the "envelope pouch" back in. You slide your phone under a small piece of plastic that is somehow supposed to ensure that it doesn't get damaged (??). You send it back via USPS.
For me, it took a week to get to their facility in TX. I sent it out last Tuesday afternoon and it departed the post office at 4. After that, they didn't update it or anything. I finally got fed up on Monday afternoon and emailed them and asked where it was. This morning, I woke up to the tracking that says it was delivered this morning at 2am. Isn't it funny how it just magically appeared?
Can't wait to do it all over again with the 4. I guess the hassle is worth a bill credit though. It'll give me time to recoup from my loss of $300+ lol
I'm pretty sure its the box to return your current device (if you're on Edge). However, I'm on Edge and haven't gotten one, so who knows.
Did any of these USPS people request a trade in box at one point and then forgot about it? Those come via USPS
I'm porting over from Sprint so I'm not an EDGE member and I didn't request to trade in my phone I have currently. But the order confirmation stays that my shipment is coming via USPS
For those of us that have phones sitting in Newark, NJ since Saturday the 19th with no movement since, when do you think we'll see our phones start to move closer to their final destination? I'd assume by tomorrow midday, but just curious what others have seen in the past.
