Pretty much the longest week of my life. That said, I was not due for an upgrade until 01/2016. VZW offered me an option to upgrade to the 6s with payment plan for 24 months. When I opened with VZW in 01/2014 I got a 4s for $.01. I am not naive but there has never been a device payment on my bill.

So I received a text an hour ago thanking me for recent purchase with promo code to trade in my phone. I ran it through the website and WARNING FLASH FLASH this device is on a device payment plan and essentially said I would have to pay the remaining payments.

So if I can't trade for credit what do I do with it? Thanks.

Come on Friday for criminy sake

You will trade it in for credit after you activate the new phone. Then the 4s would not be attached to a line.
 
Hope the activation process doesn't get too "flooded" for verizon. I might need to call them to activate unless it ships preactivated.
 
So I just literally joined MacRumors just so I can actually speak in the forum instead of creep on it the last week haha Just want to thank all of you for the information, it's gotten me through this week! I ordered a 6s Plus, Silver, 64GB, currently using a regular 6, 64GB, Gold! I also joined because once I saw that person post that his USPS shipment is going to ship to his house today, I'm almost anxious to see what happened with that, mystery person, what the hell was it that shipped?! It's been 5 hours! :p

There's the answer to my question about the ID and I hope it helps to answer others' questions about the UPS store pick up.

Now I need to decide if I want to pick it up at the store or hub. Suggestions?
 
I called FedEx about possibly just holding my delivery at their warehouse on Friday and allowing me to pick it up instead. I was told that the driver had to make a delivery attempt before I had that option. Not very happy. :(
 
Ugh, I know its coming Friday (I think), but I am getting concerned/ nervous.

Credit Card charged saturday. Got tracking number Sunday evening, and confirmation email from Verizon Monday morning at 530am. Stating that the phone shipped on 9/20.

Since then, the FEDEX tracking number has consistently said "number cannot be found."

A check on Verizon order status shows will ship on 9/24 and arrive 9/25.

I want to trust this, I do. . . but I talked to FEDEX this morning, but they have no info on the package, and they dont see any scheduled shipments for me at my work address (the correct one) scheduled any time in the future.

FEDEX rep (who I generally trust more than verizon reps) said they should have *some* info about the package, but they have none. I asked if it was possible that the info would populate on Thursday, she said no, the moment they print a label, the tracking number should be good.

Contacted Verizon rep, she said, after a few different answers, that the 9/24 to ship with 9/25 arrival is still good info.

But I would really just like the tracking number to be active!!!

Anybody else in same boat? With a tracking number that is not found? Still today?

If I were you (or anyone else receiving their phone via FedEx), I'd pay the $5 for the delivery window. At least you'd have *some* idea of when the delivery would be there.

I don't understand why FedEx won't allow pick ups?
 
Exactly! When we moved from AT&crap to VZW last year, they didn't send us a guide. They were included in the two phone boxes. Basically they told us to turn on the phone and that's it. Obviously we had to call to port in the numbers, but it was really simple. Not sure why activation guides are still a thing. It sounds so 2007 lol

That's weird. To me, it sounds like you have the remaining months to pay off since your contract isn't up until January. To calculate how much you owe, it should be like $325 minus $10 for every month you've had service. So roughly 20 months (including September) would be $125. If I were you, I'd give VZW a call and ask if they could "waive" it since you're switching to a device payment plan. I know they were offering some kind of free upgrade for anyone that switches to the payment plans back in June/July. They may still honor it if you ask the right way ;)

(the $325 and $10 may be wrong, so don't quote me on that. I read they changed it to some complicated system. someone on here probably knows for sure what it is for you)

I do remember during my pre-order seeing a screen/message having to do with a requirement that I return the 4s to VZW upon receipt of the 6s but honestly, I clicked through so fast I am not sure. There should be something directing me with my shipment otherwise I will call them. Thanks again..

Mine went live yesterday and it took about 36hrs for that to happen.

It may just be slow or the people aren't scanning them as they should. I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes packages don't get scanned until they're delivered (for example my iPhone trade in that was stuck on departed post office for a week and *magically* got delivered this morning at 2am)

Same. I got my FedEx tracking number last Saturday, still says cannot be found. I assume it will become active when they scan tomorrow.

I remember last year, most of the movement didn't happen until 4am that morning!

My 6s is coming via Fedex, and, like others, the "customize delivery" box is greyed out. The Delivery Manager offers no other options. So this $5 delivery window doesn't seem to be available. Did you somehow get that with FedEx (and not UPS)?

So I have another question (sorry to post twice in a row)...

My husband and I both ordered the 6s, both in silver, and they'll be arriving together. It's our first time preordering, so this may be a silly question, but do we need to be able to tell which is which before activating them? If they come with pre-installed SIMs, I would assume they're already somehow tied to each of our lines, but does Verizon label the phones or do you just turn either one on and connect it to the correct line? Thanks for any insight.

Has your phone been "shipped" yet? As in, on FedEx, does it say anything other than the label being created? It may not be available until after the phone ships out (like tomorrow/tomorrow evening)

It really doesn't make a difference when you turn them on. The SIMs should already be in. If they aren't, I'm pretty sure they specify which is which.

Anyway, to tell after you activate, look in the About section in settings (General - About). I think it shows the phone number. It's been a while since I've used iOS, but I imagine that's where the phone number is. You could always call each number from your home phone/another phone and see ;)

Hi All! I've been reading the forums here for awhile now and recently decided to join.

I preordered a 128 g 6s+ rose gold on day 1 but decided yesterday that I really wanted a smaller phone so I called Verizon yesterday and had them cancel my order and reorder a 6s 128g in rose gold. I was lucky enough to still get a delivery date for the 25th. Four hours later my card was charged and I got the email with my tracking number this morning around 10:30, now I'm just waiting on it to go live.
I have had a Galaxy s5 for the last year and I am SUPER excited to go back to an iPhone. I hope that everyone's deliveries go smoothly on Friday!
