Is it a single line plan?

Single Plan. Only me. Have had verizon for many years. Buy every iphone at full price. every year. owned every iphone except 5s. obviously have unlimited data because att, t-movileass, and sprinterass have no clue what they are doing. left those ***** when verizon got involved....

if we choose to "Edge Up" online and turn in our phones, will we mail them in or take them to a Verizon store?
I think there was simetbing on the FAQ page about this not applying to Early Edge or Edge Up.

I have been answering various Verizon questions that are strewn across this forum, so I thought I would make a thread for someone to ask a question and I'll answer it, just to help out the community. Obviously I will not disclose my position, but I am capable of providing fact driven answers to most questions! Also, if you have any Sprint related questions, I can help out as well.

Let's get started!

Thanks for this. I am interested in doing the Edge plan on one line (family share of 14gb with 6 lines) whose contract expires 10/4. Verizon offered me the Edge plan, am I able to easily swap the Edge phone (iPhone 6) on a different line? (Kind of like doing an upgrade swap)

I'd like to get a Verizon 6 full price I don't have Verizon service. How can I buy one?

If there's a God, the Verizon rep answers the phone and says, " Hi, is your body ready??". LOL Just busting your chops. Good luck.

I'm not available to upgrade until next year so if I preorder the iPhone 6 on the Verizon website can I choose Verizon Edge to pay for the phone or will I have to pay for it all at once?

Any idea on the amount of stock? I won't be able to pre order til the customer service phone line opens at 6 AM due to eye surgery leaving me temporarily unable to look at screens. That's about 3 hours after the pre orders go live.

Customer service will be there at 3am taking orders. I set it up to have them call me at 3 to do the preorder.

Here's one, if you don't mind.

My Verizon contact is up January 11th, 2015. I'm looking to split off my father's cell plan and use my own.

I do plan on preordering, as my father's line is eligible for an upgrade at the subsidized price, as I did for the iPhone 5. Using HIS upgrade won't renew the contact on MY line, correct? Only on HIS line? If so, then can I just order the phone under HIS number and activate it under MY number when it comes?

Ok I'm extremely paranoid about losing my UDP. So here I asking for a personalized answer.

I currently have an i5 on line 1 and plan on transferring my upgrade from my UDP on Line 1 to Line 2 which currently has a 2 GB TDP and preordering the iPhone 6 this Friday 9/12 through Verizon's website. My UDP on line 1 will be retained correct? If yes and I preorder using this method how do I proceed once the i6 arrives? Do I discard the SIM that shipped with the i6 before I turn the phone on and put the SIM from my i5 (UDP)in the i6 or do I activate the i6 on line 2 then deactivate it and reactivate it on line 1.

My goal is to upgrade to the i6 with a subsidized price and then move it to my UPD line. Please help.

The easiest thing to do would be just upgrade the line without UDP then do a device only change and move the i6 over to the UDP line. I'm not super familiar with pre ordering, but that is how you would do it otherwise.

Thanks for the reply, just to clarify, I can have 1 line on the edge program and the other 3 still under the more everything plan? Also one more question is there a way to keep the edge phone after it has been paid off.

Yes, the other phones will be charged the full $40 access fee. The phone is yours from Day 1. You're financing the phone, not leasing it (unless you decide to upgrade before the 20 months and before paying it off).

I have an AT&T contract now that has ended (but has not been canceled). Can I pre-order a verizon phone as a new plan, receive it, activate it with whatever # they assign and then later port over the # from AT&T later?

Edge is a payment related program (like a contract) while More Everythinf is a plan, the two are separate and deal with different things. As for the phone, you have a choice of trading the phone in instead of paying it all off or keeping it as you pay it all off--the phone is yours you just decide what you want to do with it.

What are the odds of getting someone at Verizon to move up an upgrade date by less than a month? The wife's upgrade is October 12, but a phone rep flat out immediately told her no when she asked to be moved up in order to pre-order?
There's certainly a possibility, but it's unlikely.

I am not currently eligible to upgrade with a discount until next year. Can I still pre-order the iPhone 6+ through Verizon or Apple and purchase the phone at full retail price?
You can always buy a full price phone (assuming there is one for sale).

Hey, thanks for doing this! Here are my questions:

Looking to trade-in a 32gb Verizon phone and use that trade-in toward the iPhone preorder. Any idea how that will work? Do I need to buy the 6 and wait for them to pay me for the 5?

Also- I am looking to get a new 6 now, knowing that come June I am moving overseas and will need to cancel service. Should I EDGE and pay the balance of the phone when I leave, or sign a 2 year agreement and then pay the ETF when I leave? Are there any cost differences?
Yiu can check the FAQ page about the details of the trade in offer.

As for pricing, with Edge you would need to pay off whatever remains of the full price of your phone or return it essentially, with with a contract you just pay the ETF (which goes down from $350 by $10 every month) and keep the phone.

Not sure if this question has been answered, I tried to look but couldn't find anything.

If there is another line eligible for an upgrade now and I transfer the upgrade to my line tomorrow, will I be able to then pre-order the new iPhone without any issues?

Or my other question is, if that doesn't work am I able to just pre-order from the line that is eligible but then when it arrives just activate it on my line?

Thanks!

Yes you can do that.

Yes, it's called a "Late Port" and there's a department at CS that handles those inquiries.

Hello! Thank you for helping us folks here!

I started my own thread here:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1775302/

But basically is just boil down to this:

My family has 5 iPhones with Verizon, four with UDP and one with 2GB TDP. Three of the UDP lines are due for an upgrade. Can the one TDP take all of the upgrades at once or does it have to be done one at a time? We all want to upgrade to the new iPhones but also want to keep our UDPs.

Has it been confirmed whether or not we can pre-order the phone under a new Single Line plan through the Apple website?

Or must you pre-order it on Verizon's website?

Thank you!

I have a family plan with unlimited talk and text, all 4 lines eligible for upgrade:

iPhone 4s with unlimited data
iPhone 4 with unlimited data
Dumb phone
Dumb phone

Is there a way to get iPhone 6 on all 4 lines, and keep unlimited data on the two while getting less shared data on the other two? Or should I give up the fight and get Edge?

Holding onto unlimited...just because!

I have an old iPhone 4 - is it possible to trade this in, get a $200 card, and then buy the iPhone 6 at full price and use the $200 card to keep my unlimited data?

One more question...

Do you know if you can choose to ship the phone to the a different address than the one that is on your Verizon account?

I'd like to ship it to my work since I won't be home to sign for it.

Thanks!

As answered in the other thread, I do not believe upgrades are possible on unlimited lines without losing the unlimited data. You cannot upgrade a grandfathered plan whilst keeping the same grandfathered plan. You have to buy the phones at full price.

Currently have 2 lines More Everything Plan, both are eligible for an upgrade. We both want to get the new iPhones and preorder tonight. My questions are:

1. Can we both sign up for Edge when we do the upgrade tonight if we've never been on Edge before?

2. Can we have the phones shipped to the store instead of our apartment? My husband will actually be home all morning on the 19th but we are leaving to go out of town for the night probably around 2:00. I don't want to risk them delivering the phones at 6:00 and having them sit there overnight unattended but I also want my new phone!

TIA for your insight!

FYI I asked Verizon chat online if you can get the $200 gift card/tradein and buy the i6 at full retail with the gift card and she said yes.

Does anyone have experience with using was CS reps say in store if theres a problem?

Buy Outright

I am not interested in signing a contract with Verizon at this point. Will I be able to get an iPhone 6 at launch on the verizon prepay plans? Or any other way?

I'm currently on a More Everything plan with 3 lines & 6gb of data. All of us are out of contract now. We all want to get iPhone 6's. 1 will be a 16gb iPhone 6, 1 a 64gb iPhone 6 and the last either a 16gb or 64gb iPhone 6+.

My question is would it be cheaper for us to do the subsidized upgrades and renew our contracts or would it be cheaper to upgrade to 10gb of data and do EDGE to get the $25 discount.

Also what would be the price if we switched to EDGE and only 2 lines upgraded to the iPhone 6 64gb & 6+ 64gb.
