No, you don't. There are only two true unthrottled unlimited plans out there. The old Verizon plan and the iPad AT&T plan.

No, you don't.

You get around ~11 or so gb of hotspot data included.

Why must T-Mobile fans always exaggerate everything about their beloved carrier?

Yes, passed 25GB you may get de-prioritized and throttled but that's not always the case depending on the area and congestion of the cell site.
With my unlimited data plan I get 14GB's of Personal hot spot data. That is also unlimited but throttled passed that 14GB per month amount.
I think its time for you to start looking into switching to Tmobile:)
They got a deal when you get 3 lines on a family plan you get the 4th one for free.

No reason to switch. The equivalent plan over at T-Mobile would cost more money and they still can't match AT&T/Verizon in pure coverage/reliability around here.

They're about 90% there, whereas Sprint is closer to 80%.

Coverage is debatable depending on the areas you frequent the most.
I got 6 lines with unlimited everything with 14gb of hotspot for $210 a month.

For those of you with t-mobile is it overall a lot cheaper than Verizon? I have two iPhones and two iPads. Thinking about making the switch. I use lots of data and sometimes go over and get charged fees.

Do the research. How many lines and how much data do you use now? What do you pay now? Go to TMo's website and check their rates.

Done & done.

I'm about to ditch AT&T after 12+ years with them and the prime candidate to replace them is Verizon. I'd consider Tmobile, but for all the awesome things they do their reception still sucks, and all that other awesome stuff means squat if I can't place a call. I'm being patient and waiting to see if Verizon has any Note 7 or iPhone 7 deals before I switch over to them.

Don't forget to get someone to refer you. You both get $$$. Hit me up if you don't have anyone.

I'm on the double data 30GB Everything Data and if the rumor is true of the 30GB Verizon plan for $135 - I will move to that plan for my 5 lines.

We will see on 7/7/16

Rumor mill says SOME data packages will get up to 30% allowance bumps

And a new tier which is 30GB for $135

Yeah, but they don't have "Safety Mode". I'm hopeful that they will release something similar soon as they will soon be the only major carrier that still charges for overages instead of throttling. $15 per GB when you have an overage is insane. That's akin to the crazy fees they charged for texts years ago.
I don't need safety mode. What I need is the data I pay for each month goes into a bucket and rolls over until I use it. I PAID FOR IT AT&T!!!
This one month crap is better than nothing but I pay for 15GB if I use 10 then 5 should go to my reserve, period. They used to handle minutes like that, unused would accumulate until you used it or change plan. If I have two heavy use months in a row, I'm screwed even though the last 10 other months I never when over and really had accumulate (paid for) an unused 4 GB per month so lost 40 GB I PAID FOR.

My experience with all carriers

2010 AT&T... Had the IPhone 3gs this is back when they only had unlimited data plan. Was happy with the iPhone and the service wasn't half bad.

2010 Sprint... Bought the HTC evo the first 4g phone. The phone was a mess a pure pile of junk and the service was horrible. Jumped ship. Had to get bbb involved to get out of paying huge bill that I should of never got. Sprint was running a 30 day free trial if don't like service return phone and no charge, yeah I took phone back after 12 days.. They suck

2011 Verizon Got the Samsung fascinate galaxy S1. Phone was pure garbage went through like 7 refurbs in one year until Verizon let me get up on an HTC thunderbolt. Service was fantastic, but Verizon was ripping me off overcharge all of that, what a nightmare.

AT&T 2013 or 2014 ..I went back and got the galaxy S4, phone was nice but broke down a few times and got a few returbs along the way, service was good, but was being overcharged for data I wasn't using.

Tmobile 2014... They paid to get me out of my AT&T contract offered lower monthly price for service and unlimited data with free hotspot. I got the LG nexus 5 phone it was wonderful besides weak speakers and average camera, sold it a year later and got the iPhone 6 white silver model 16gb.

Present time still on tmobile.... Still rocking the iPhone 6 year and a half later still loving it and phone works flawless even though I use the hell out of it daily and push the thing to the limits. It's got wet, spilled stuff on it, do video to text all the time, I record music with it all the time ( my little band) I just use it use it... Rock solid phone and great service...

Well said.
It should be at least a rolling 12 months of accumulated data like tmobile does.
It's called data stash. And even if you change data plans you don't lose your pool of data stashed.
Another way of making customers happy instead of looking for ways to charge them extra.

Now that's something...T-Mobile is trying harder, the other carriers...not so much.

Because they love their carrier for actually making moves to satisfy their customers.

And it isn't "throttled" unlimited data. It gets deprioritized, which is very different. You only will see slower speeds in very congested areas. At that point, data service would suck whether you're deprioritized or not. Pretty much, if you aren't in the middle of a huge city the majority of the time, you are not likely to see degraded service ever on the unlimited plan.

Also it's 14GB of tethered data which, considering unlimited YouTube, Netflix, and music streaming, would be hard to pass for many unless you're using your phone as your home internet service... Which is frowned upon by all carriers. It causes congestion. Thus, the "soft caps" on unlimited plans and limited tethering. AT&T doesn't let you tether at all on their unlimited plans with directv I don't think. Unless I read wrong when I was researching it for a friend with no ISPs where he is besides garbage satellite.

Are you sure that service sucks in your area? If you go to T-Mobile's site, a prepaid SIM kit is only $3.99 if you use the code "SIMDEAL" at checkout. Once you get this SIM card, you can stick it in any unlocked phone and use it to see the cell service you would get just like normal (you get signal bars and what cell technology you are getting like EDGE, LTE, etc just like normal) for unlimited speedtests on the T-Mobile network so you can test before you fully commit. There is no need to buy a plan for it or anything, just put the card right from the packaging into your phone when you receive it. No setup. I used this to verify that T-Mobile has no coverage where I am lol.

T-Mobile has come a LONG way in the past 3 years. Not yet as good as AT&T and Verizon but still better than Sprint. Do not doubt this carrier though. They are improving at incredible speed in order to catch up with the big two - and they're already rivaling in many areas.

Stop with the blanket statements. Every area is completely different in terms of cell coverage. Where my cousin is? T-Mobile rocks with cell service while I, on Verizon, had weak, unusable 1x and 3G the whole time. A friend of mine, AT&T is fantastic at their house, Verizon, again, terrible. Can barely grab a bar of LTE that always drops to unusable 3G. Where I am though, AT&T and Verizon are equal, Sprint is spotty 3G, T-Mobile is absolutely No Service.

Bingo. I'm actually moving the other lines off my family plan to Verizon in a few months (once their contracts are up), due to better rural Northeast roaming agreements (specifically USCC).

I'm keeping my AT&T "unlimited" plan. No reason to move. Verizon/AT&T are fantastic here in Massachusetts.

Yeah, in cities. Not major highways or rural areas. The Big 2 still reign supreme there. I still can't drive from Boston to NYC and keep 100% HSPA/LTE service with TMo (even with a B12 device.)

Last year I went from San Franscisco, down PCH, across LA, through the desert cities, to Phoenix. Wife and I do these road trips about once a year. While not every inch of the roads in the desolate areas had LTE, there was at least 3G, with some spots only able to make calls. This is one reason I stay with Verizon; they have coverage in rural and desolate areas of which I like to travel by car.

If you only do these trips once a year I wouldn't base my carrier decision on coverage you might experience in random desolated areas.
I'd base my decision on local area coverage and Locations with your every day cellphone use;)

This. And if you need the service during the road trip, get a Verizon Jetpack with a prepaid plan, just buy data when you need it for the trip. You should pretty much always be able to call and text on T-Mobile as they have a roaming agreement with AT&T, as well.

If you drive around ALL the time though for work, then needing the better coverage is very valid. For occasional road trips though.. I think most could do with the solution I presented.

I've been with Verizon for 15+ years with grandfathered plans. that road trip was an extreme example, but i spend time out of major city areas and I get the coverage without worry.

Another big perk with tmobile is free international roaming unlimited texts and data in over 140 countries.
I'm Going on a vacation to Mexico and called to ask how much it would cost me to use data, texts, and make phone calls back to the US.
They told me its all free and included in my plan.
Other years with AT&T I'd have to add an expensive international package that would cost and arm and a leg with very little call minutes and data that would last a few hours and then get charged an outrageous data overage price.
Last year in Bermuda it cost me an extra $120 for minimum usage with my AT&T plan.

I went oversees and got a 40 international calling plan added. The minutes and SMS were good enough but it was a 100mb of paltry Lte. Thank goodness there was wifi everywhere.
