Another big perk with tmobile is free international roaming unlimited texts and data in over 140 countries.
I'm Going on a vacation to Mexico and called to ask how much it would cost me to use data, texts, and make phone calls back to the US.
They told me its all free and included in my plan.
Other years with AT&T I'd have to add an expensive international package that would cost and arm and a leg with very little call minutes and data that would last a few hours and then get charged an outrageous data overage price.
Last year in Bermuda it cost me an extra $120 for minimum usage with my AT&T plan.
Yep. T-Mobile has unlimited texts, unlimited talk, and FULL SPEED LTE data (it simply uses your data plan from home) in Mexico and Canada - for free. Most other countries have unlimited text, and unlimited data but it's capped at 128kbps (enough for voIP services, instant messaging services, light browsing, navigation, email, etc) and talk is only $.20 per minute. Not bad, actually. Right now for the summer, you get unlimited high speed 4G LTE data in Europe. This may indicate they are looking into doing this as a full-time feature... That would be freaking awesome.

You also get unlimited YouTube, unlimited Netflix (among many other video streaming services), unlimited music streaming, unlimited Ookla speedtests... T-Mobile is the absolute best value out there. If the coverage is there. For many, it is. For many others, it still isn't. But T-Mobile is working incredibly fast at rectifying the issues. I just hugely admire what this company is doing for the industry. T-Mobile has stolen most new postpaid customers and many are switching away from the other carriers. If it wasn't for T-Mobile we wouldn't be getting these features now on Verizon and AT&T.

I went oversees and got a 40 international calling plan added. The minutes and SMS were good enough but it was a 100mb of paltry Lte. Thank goodness there was wifi everywhere.

Yep, usually the data is very little and expensive on those international packages.
It's only once a year thing but it's nice not have to pay anything extra and get unlimited everything still outside the US.

I used T-mobile on Bermuda couple times. It connected to Digicell. Not the fastest throttled internet, but it was free.

It's fun to be incendiary and hate on carriers, but the price per GB went down across the board. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm actually looking forward to the increase in data. I might actually use more. :D We'll be keeping our XXL plan even though we don't even use half of it, even if the price goes up for that plan.

I have a 1gb plan which I never go over. An additional 1gb for an added $5 may not seem like a lot , but I'm not interested. And the data overage protection means an additional $5.

So these new plans means $10 to my monthly bill for a measy 1gb increase...Verizon is full of ****.

They're not bundling anything extra for free...same old Verizon.

This is true but with the rumored changes not all of us need the increase of data for a $10 price hike. For example, I had planned to switch to the "XL" plan at 12GB per month with its current pricing structure as it would be the same cost as my current plan. My current plan is $160 (4 phones with 16GB data, unlimited calls/text). We would lose 4GB per month with that route but I like what the "XL" plan is rumored to offer with the safety mode being included as well as the Mexico and Canada service. However, if it's $10 more per month that's enough for me to heavily consider switching to t-mobile as I'm already at my max of $40 per phone. I had been considering a switch to t-mobile but then I heard about these new plans and would've likely remained on Verizon, but I'm not interested in the $10 per month price increase.

Me too. The 24GB plan has great value. I'll be switching to that.

Are you forced to change to the new plans?

Same with me only using less than 1 GB per month. Now however, if this is implemented, I will go out of my way, and use a lot more for that extra $5 bucks.

I hope this is true, Just switched from AT&T and I can say Verizon is expensive as hell $45 for a 3GB plan plus $20 line acess

Only using verizon now because their coverage is better than AT&T and the LTE speeds are way much better

No, of course not. But I would like the ability to use my phone in Canada, so the new plans are enticing. But as I described in my post at $10 more per month that means I'll likely switch to t-mobile.

So additional options means you're switching. Got it...

Some weird logic in this thread! I know everyone hates carriers, and especially Verizon/ATT/Sprint, but jeeze. This is rollover data, new options, more data for less money, and not forcing anyone to change plans. We sure can make anything into lemons.

Does anyone have a prediction on just how throttled the data speed will be on safety mode? Will we be able to take advantage of this "unlimited data throttle" and still get decent enough speeds or will it be like dial up slow?

No, what I said in my original post you quoted was that I was already considering T-Mobile but then I read about the new Verizon plans. I was sold with the current pricing structure for the "XL" plan with the added features. Now, I would have to pay $10 more which would bring me above my budget of $40 per phone in order to get those features. The reason I was considering switching to T-Mobile was due to those features and better pricing.

I am getting 4 awesome features for free: carryover data, option to throttle (XXL plan), Canada/Mexico free, and a free 4.2 GB (18 TO 24GB for 10% more = 4.2 GB free). Sorry you aren't.

That makes sense. My bad. Sorry you don't get the more for free :(.

There's no denying that for some (on the largest plans), they're getting extras.

Just wish everyone could benefit (matter of speaking).
