Mine did the same when ordering about 1 hr ago..
OK, so after about an hour after I updated (actually, re-entered) my CC info and it accepted payment, my order has changed from "Pending" to "Processing". I guess that's progress. (difference of "We'll let you know when your order ships" to "We're preparing your order".

This is my first year doing a 1-year upgrade, but whenever I'd traded in phones in the past (for credit), I would bring them by the store.

I DM'ed VZW on Twitter when the iPhone 6 was coming out, and they told me I could.

The first year I tried to do this, I was told that I couldn't do it by a somewhat adamant employee who finally went to speak to the Manager, expecting him to back her up. She came back, and said he'd be out to help me shortly.

When I traded in the iPhone 6 for the 7 Plus, the employee I spoke to was aware I could do so, and there wasn't an issue. The employee that took my phone was surprised that I brought my phones in already wiped, with Find My iPhone already turned off.
Hmmmmm, I’m going to check this out with my local VZ store...;)

Got the email saying my payment method didn’t go through (Apple Pay). I updated the payment information to my credit card and I now have a pending charge, the shipment date has disappeared from the order status, and I got a text that my order has been received. Just waiting on the shipping confirmation email but it looks like everything is in motion now for a Friday delivery.
 
So I just got off the phone with Verizon because I got an email that my payment failed, I did use Apple Pay as my payment method when I pre-ordered at 8 AM on September 13. When I put in my card information I had to do it multiple times because it kept freezing on me when I went to try to process the payment. Then it locked me out and said that I had to cancel my order and starting over again. So I called Verizon and they were actually able to bill the amount to my next bill after 20 mins. I was getting ready to be really upset if I had to cancel and start fresh again but they fix my issue I will be getting my iPhone 11 Pro Max this Friday, September 20. Happy birthday to me!!
 
My ApplePay payment also failed. Did anyone need to prod Verizon to get them back into the launch ship window? Mine says ship date 9/20 which I know from experience means Friday delivery.

I think this is my first time using Apple Pay with Verizon- so they've had this issue before with authorization and later captures of funds? I've counted 4 people on this thread alone this afternoon who experienced this.

UPS routed my kids' XR's back to the point of origination by accident. Verizon has jacked me around on my other 2 phones.

But hey, they've already started billing me for my new account despite not having any devices. I'll have to play "Care" roulette trying to get that credited if and when I finally get phones.

Yup. I used it last year to preorder with a lot of other folk and same issue. Had to pay by another method, but I still got my phone on-time. This year I used PayPal. Just got charged a couple hours ago with no issues.
 
How long before it ships with tracking when verizon charge the card? My card was charged yesterday. Ordered on the 13th
 
I’m gonna be on the lookout for an email then. I also paid with Apple Pay. What’s weird is my order doesn’t even show in my Verizon app. The only proof that I placed an order is the initial email they sent me that has all the order info. I got the potential fraud alert email over the weekend and I also got flagged to submit a form of identification afterwards.

Actually in the Verizon app what it does show is tracking for the boxes they sent me for trading in devices, since I took advantage of trading in and adding lines.

Is it the same when you try logging into the actual website?

I’d call them ASAP. Sounds like an issue I had last year ..... and then they put me two weeks later !

I guess lesson learned to everyone, don’t use Apple Pay for form of payment to Verizon lol.

To be fair, it's not just Apple Pay they're having issues with. My credit card order experienced the same issues people that Apple Pay experienced. Verizon's billing system is having issues. The Verizon CSR said that was the reason anyway.

I had the same problem Friday with my order not showing up in my order history, although I never got an e-mail.

Called Verizon, and was told one of their systems was down, and they could find NO indication of my order no matter what they did. They were going to look into my order and get back to me, when I mentioned that I had screenshotted my order confirmation. Was asked to send that, and got an e-mail reply 30 minutes later that my order was good and there was no reason to re-order. 4-5 hours later, my order showed up in my order history.

I just got shipping confirmation. Almost 24 hours after my card was authorized. It's shipping via UPS.
 
Every year my bank (Chase) flags my Verizon order as fraud and the payment gets declined.
