Well that seals the deal for me on the 4.7". That bezel is way too crazy on the 5.5". I think 5" with a tiny bezel would be ideal. My wife hopes the 4" model doesn't go away or that they bring back the 3.5" model because it actually fits in her pocket and hands.

Serious question: Are there any good Android phones that are smaller? If Apple completely leaves out another size segment again then they'll lose sales to people in that range next. Eventually my wife will want to upgrade from her iPhone 5 to get a better camera or some future feature like wireless payments. She shouldn't have to get a phone that is uncomfortable for her to use to get those features. Charge us more, I don't care! It just needs to be an option. I think it's pretty lame to draw someone into your ecosystem, have them invest a bunch of money, and then stop selling a device that comes in a size that is useable to them. That iPhone 5 won't run forever, and it definitely won't be supported forever.

The moto x is roughly the size of the current 5s.

Whereas other companies made Phablets, resulting in a risibly large phone or a ludicrously small tablet, either way it was an object of derision, however Apple being Apple found a way through the confusion and perhaps inspired by the Beatles, came up with the Fablet, which is basically a very fabulous thing to own.

"Taller than the Note 3, but not wider than the Note 3... bigger than the Note 3, but smaller screen than the note 3.. like, it's ridiculously big, SERIOUSLY."

Oh my god, shut up! Don't know what's more pathetic- that I watched half of that video, or that macrumors posted it.

He said that after the first half...so did you watch the second half or are you just plain lying? If the latter, I'll be very hurt.

I have been wanting a 5.5 inch for awhile but after seeing this video I've got some serious doubts. It looks a lot bigger than the Galaxy which are huge to begin with.

The kid in the video is incredibly annoying. Could barely sit through a minute of that. :/

I went from the 4" iPhone 5 to a 6" Lumia 1520. I really love the hardware and form-factor, but it's the software that makes me want to switch back to iOS. A 5.5" iPhone would be great for me. Not sure if current iPhone users can handle such upgrade (some comments in this thread suggest they can't) :p

Doesn't make any sense to even have bigger top/bottom bezels than on the 4.7" – TouchID obviously doesn't need all the space.
They just streched the 4.7" to 5.5" and made a mockup.

The 5.5" is bloody huge!

My take is the 5.5" is not an iPhone but a somewhere between a iPod Touch and iPad Mini. My guess it'll be called the iPad Micro. I can easily see this sold to the pre-teen and teen market.

I bet 4.7" device is the iPhone 6.

Yup, his voice has not completely changed yet.

At 5.5", Apple might as well call it the iPad mini-mini.

On a related note, I've never understood why anyone would need such a large display on a PHONE, a phone that ideally would fit in average pants pockets. I get that there's a market for such devices but if a large display is needed, why not just go all in with a tablet? Oh that's right, it's so one isn't carrying two devices. What ever, I'll just keep laughing at the people who hold such large looking devices against their heads when ever they make phone calls.

He's what, 16 or 17 and he has all that neato equipment that his dad probably bought so he can shoot his tech podcast. He's only the millionth person to do such a thing.

And his hands look kind of funny. They look like the hands of a heavy-set person.

This reminds me of the iPad mini rumors before it came out , I saw mockups that looked like an ipad 3 but smaller ,same bezels & everything

This mockup is basically the same , the current iphone making it bigger not changing the bezels

Hahaha the 5.5 is bigger than a Note 3 hahaha, that is truly daft and I don't think people appreciate just how big that really is until you hold it in your hands. Meh I still think the best phablet is the Note 2 personally, its cheap now too.

I don't think they will launch a 5.5 anyway, if you read between the lines even the rumour milk isn't certain of it.

So what is everyone who is saying "shut up and take my money" who are desperate for the LARGER 5.5" model, perhaps coming back from Android, going to do when such a model does not exist and only a 4.7" is announced?

If that happens?

Yes, yes and yes and yes one more time. Agree.

The only thing that is weird is Xcode doesn't have a new size for it. Instead they have flexible sizes, where you design apps that resize to different screen sizes. Maybe they are paving the way to a 5.5, but I highly doubt iphone 6 is it. I mean go see a note 3. I just laughed and thought it was a joke until I realized it was a real phone.

The flexible sizes are most likely to start to migrate developers to not relying on hardcoded magic numbers in addition to potentially split screen iPad and/or Apple TV.

Even though we don't know for sure if the iPhone 6 will look like this, the video gives me a good idea about the size. Looks like the 5.5 is a bit too big for me. I hope the rumors about not having enough sapphire for the 4.7 are not true. Nice seeing these in high quality video, and not just pics.

Yes, this video has made me doubt my desire for the 5.5" model. I guess we can only wait and see what Apple ACTUALLY do and if a 5.5" model even exists.

You mean like they already do with their separate iPad optimised and iPhone optimised apps.

Have to laugh at all the posters on here complaining about the video, because he is a random non professional guy making his own videos in which he can say whatever he wants as we live in a freedom of speech world. If you don't like it why don't by you make your own videos or is that too difficult for people on here?
Its also funny that most likely every time you watch his video he gets paid money.
