Videos Dean, or it didn't happen.
It can't be hard to do seeing you are doing video encoding tests, why not throw a video up to verify while you're at it.

Did you miss the earlier link I posted by Toms Guide? Or are you going to claim bias as well?

Don’t worry, when I get my S9+ I’ll make sure to post a few videos for you. Which you can promptly call bias on. Which is why I’ll let you pick the Apps to test.

Even a 16 y/o working at McDonald’s can get an iPhone X 256gb because finance is now available but if paying more for something makes you feel above Android owners, have at it.

..and comments like this have increased wildly on here since premium products became accessible using such mechanisms. Coincidence? :)

Credit for not describing someone who buys a non-Apple product as 'unwashed' though.

Tom's guide is the site I claim is biased, the same article but worded differently was posted days ago, the taken down for some reason, then put back up again yesterday, sans comments.
Philip Michael's is clearly biased, he almost goes as far as saying so.

You choose your video content, just be sure to show some destruction.
Seeing as there's no video of Premiere Clip side by side out there, that would make your video unique.

Not only it's ugly, those stupid edges distort the content and create extra glare. Form over function at its worst.

They've gone downhill since the S7 and the Note 5 in my opinion... but they didn't look as cool so...

Partially agree. With flat edges it wouldn't be anywhere as nice to hold, but the glare and ghost touches do happen from time to time.

I can't speak for him but I haven't really seen the S9 but the S8 is not that hot IMO. I always think Samsung's phone look cheap, even compared to some of their Android competition. Then again, beauty or aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder. It's just personal preferences or tastes. Neither is right or wrong. It's just an individual's opinion.

I find Android confusing but I've been using iOS since 2008. There's nothing more advanced about either. A inclusion or absence of a single feature here or there isn't going to make or break the overall experience. It's splitting hairs.

I live comfortably in the Apple ecosystem with a Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, etc. That's me. These reviews are worthless. The majority of consumers don't look at such reviews. Once they make their initial decision they likely aren't changing.
I respect your opinion and agree with you that "beauty or aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder" but still the way he said it made it sound like he was just talking nonsense. The phone is a masterpiece in design especially with the curved glass aligned to the metal frame.

Regardless of hardware, design, features, etc. considerations, if you care about privacy and security, there is no choice. Google/Android system is taking everything you do - maps, photos, documents, web searches, posts, etc., and amassing it all under a unviversal identifier number that they try to assign to every citizen of the world.

I still really dig the edge display -- the way that the display seems just roll off the edge of the phone. Knockout design, IMO.

After looking at the S8 last year, and now the S9, it really does make you go "Holy side bezels!" with after phone you pick up thereafter.

It's (Edge Display)a gimmick, it doesn't add anything.

Same above comment applies here, the curved edge display adds nothing, actually it is prone to break so it only has disadvantages here, and I agree with the initial comment, the Samsung design is Fugly.
You got only 4 upvotes, that says quite a bit imo.
The back is even more disgusting than the front, horrible design.
But yeah, we can agree on one thing "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Everything that is taken by Google is used to improve your Internet Experience, it's basically having everything thrown at you at a glance. Google doesn't share your data attached to your name and vice versa. Apple has also wrote on their terms and conditions that they do use and share your data aswell, so complete privacy is non existant on the internet. Period.

You can use it to invoke quick apps and shortcuts, for example if you need an handy ruler or calculator, or your favourite contacts, it can come in handy. Also the Edge Lightning notifications are very useful as you can change the colour depending on the App so you will always know what kind of notification you are getting.

This isn't a like competition, if you go that way I got many, many, many likes daily on any of my posts because they state true facts that most won't admit. I'm not surprised that my response on an Apple forum stating that the S9 is gorgeous would get me tons of likes as I'd get if I said the iPhone X notch is the most perfect thing ever made.
I already answered about the "gimmick" you talk about on the above quote.

Sometimes I read these comments and just have to laugh. I've been using Apple products since the days when people laughed at you because it wasn't Windows and there was little software. The Iphone comes out, millions sold, and now we have an Apple user group who act like the world revolves around there choice of phone. Some call others the unwashed masses if they don't own an Iphone (not just in this thread but, many, many, times).

It's almost getting to the point where I'm embarrassed to use Apple products because it has become an elitist symbol for many. Why are you posting here if you use a Samsung? Go to an Android site. Defensive much?

I have owned all IPhones except the 7 and 8. I made the switch to an S7 1 1/2 years ago. I now have a Note 8. I know something must be wrong with me, but my Note 8 is fantastic and I enjoy it as much as I did my Iphones.

And yes, this is coming from a person who also owns 2 Mac Pros for work, an Ipad, whos wife is using an Iphone 6, and is typing this way too long post on a 2015 Macbook Pro.

To me, it all boils down to OS/ecosystem preference. Every flagship phone out there has been pretty excellent in terms of hardware for a number of years now. So honestly, I don’t really care what fancy new feature either company introduces - I’m going to stick with Apple because I prefer MacOS/iOS/TvOS/iCloud etc to the equivalent offerings on android/google.

Same, if I was to get a phone from android it’d be the pixel 2 xl. BUT not because it’s a better phone, instead it’s the stock android experience and lack of extras Samsung packs in. Sadly I’m hooked into iOS and Apple products and there is currently no iPhone plus alternatives for me to buy. The x is way too small and I don’t like tall aspect ratios.

Yikes. Show me a poor person that can afford that $700+ device -- the same as an iPhone, mind you!
Well, I think originally it used to be more that way and then Samsung moved up market. But to be fair, it was being compared against a $999 iPhone X, and it often seems like you can get the latest Samsung phone steeply discounted within a month or two of launch.

I didn't imply it was/is a competition, it just shows few people agree with you but yeah, you won't get many here since it's not samsungrumors, btw, you got 4 upvotes, changed my comment within a minute but was too late.
Upvoting for most of us mean we support (partly) his/her views.

I love the default argument for Apple elitist is price. It's seriously hilarious. If you're default defense about what products you use is price? Well that just speaks volumes to everyone else. Congrats, you paid 1200$ for a phone that does nothing different then the last two iPhones.

You honestly think the notch is the differentiating factor between the two? Notch or no notch, the experience on the X would be eaxtly the same. The differentiating factor is software. Hardware is becoming less and less relevant. It comes down to the OS that brings the best of performance, security, privacy, apps, ecosystem, and support. Apple leads here and provides the best all around experience. Whether or not the phone has a notch means nothing to me and other Apple users.
Glad you like it. Realty is the Notch is a disturbing feature that ruins that All Screen All Glass marketing talk. It's not true as long as images and videos are ruined by the notch.

You can't predict the future without understanding the present. Android does not necessarily need a home button, every manufacturer is free to choose their own control scheme. Some use a physical home button with two sensor buttons, some use only sensors, some don't use buttons at all, relying on onscreen controls.

The search bar on the home screen is a search bar. No one is forcing you to use Google's services. You can keep your Android completely google-free

To use Google "stuff" you have to login. Once you login you add to the file they have on you.

Even if you don't login, if you use any Google "thing" they find a way to track or tag you.

"Get rid home button" means swiping up...copying iOS.

Ah yes, the old fall-back. Anyone says something goog about Apple they must be biased.

The iPhone is faster. Period. And you can actually run superior Apps unlike Android where devs can’t be bothered to create truly powerful Apps. Such a waste buying an Android phone or tablet with a fast processor that never gets utilized.

I've watched a dozen YouTube speed test and the S9+ wins each time so....A11 bionic though right?

Android doesn't even have a home button it has always used in screen virtual buttons, only some OEMS were including the middle home button.

Right, it's still some kind of button. Android will copy iOS and use a swipe-up gesture.

A11 Bionic works in "mysterious" ways.

I'm an apple user, but I love reading threads like this one. iPhone elitist have to belittle anything that threatens their core identity. If anything, the s9 pricing proves that iPhone x pricing is outlandish.

I'm an Apple user aswell and I dont belong to any cult or elistism like most here. It's crazy how Human beings can behave to defend a company that we pay to use their products.

I'm my experience, the people who always use the "price" argument are the ones living paycheck to paycheck making 40$k < a year.

That's so right, here in Europe I see so many who pay their Notch in 2 years plan payments and then behave like the most important person in the world. :D

Don’t watch the video.

The guy rants about how he wants a million choices in how he uses his phone, which is what Samsung gives.
