Hopefully we'll see a shiny new black ipod shuffle the death of the U2 ipod and the ability to download last weeks network tv programs. I don't want to ever have to use my Tivo or VCR again. .99 - 1.99 for a network download seems about right. Lost, Desperate Housewifes,Alias...Night Stalker. Hopefully the video enabled ipod will come out so I can download these to my mac and then stream them to my tv witht the remote. A lot less bandwidth needed to download a few television programs than a huge movie in HD quality.

I noticed yesterday during the conference call, that Apple's homepage had an "exclusive Madonna content" link in place of the "special event" one that's there now. The link went straight to the iTunes page with no mention of Madonna.

As dissapointing as that is for me (want new PB!) it looks to me like todays announcement will at some point involve Madge.

Tomorrow will be Australia's day in the sun. iTMS Australia released and finally, one more thing....

Genius! What a bloke... what a 'tash! :D
Beer powered I take it?

Here are iGary's "Announcement Morning" predictions:

1. Today, Apple will launch a video device, store will go down at 2:00. New iPod configurations will also accompany the event. This will round out the holiday iPod lineup. Apple has never used California Theater for non-iPod events.

2. New PPC products will be announced over the next two weeks. Freescale's dual-core proc and IBM's dual-core proc will find their way into PM's and PB's.

This means for the holiday quarter, Apple wil have a fairly "fresh" lineup for the holiday season, and some of the last of the PPC products for the pro line going into next year with a new dual-core lineup tht has at least a little bit of growth room for the first three quarters.

My guess. :)

1. It's a mo' not a 'tash.

2. Very much beer powered. Holds the record for most beer drunk between sydney and london, 52 cans on the flight to begin the Ashes so many years ago. Back when we held the Ashes that is....

Speculation, but considering the launch event is also taking place at the BBC in London, could a Video iPod be one of the portable devices the BBC won't elaborate on to use with their forthcoming TV-on-demand Interactive Media Player? (www.bbc.co.uk/imp )

15. What do I need to use iMP?

FOR PC (and the High Definition tests):

* A broadband connection at home - 512kbps or higher
* Windows 2000 or XP, with IE5.5 or later installed.
(This trial unfortunately does not support Apple Macs dues to the Digital Rights Management being Windows based)

Could it be since the BBC is involved that Madonna will be in London at the BBC while Steve is here in CA?

Goes along with the rumors of a iPod for Madonna

Just thought it may be of interest that the PB BTO has gone down from 1-2 weeks to 6-8 Business Days, not sure what that means.

It's annoying how the Powerbooks 15" and 17" have extended Ready to ship ETAs but the 12" is still saying 24hrs. I get the horrible feeling (Coz I'm in the market for the 12"!!!! Just my luck) that they are not going to upgrade the 12"!!!! I probably hexed it! great!

It's the same in the US as it is in the UK. I would suspect that they are not going to upgrade the 12" or that have such a HUGE amount of stock that they just need to ship it out quickly and the more popular 15" (And I think) 17" have just run out of stock. I don't know but I would love an upgraded 12"... one with 100Gig hard drive, HD Screen, Backlit Keyboard, PCMCIA card slot, GigE card, plus a nano dock! upgrade to the CPU wouldn't be unwelcome!

I'm off to sell my soul on eBay!!!! :D :D :D

I'm going to see if I can get to the BBC thing. I've got a friend (whose wedding it is on Saturday and who I've just spent a bundle on) who is high up in the legal department there - maybe she can wangle me an invite? Worth a go methinks...
