This is my very first time actually pre ordering an iPhone so I didn't know what to expect lol
 
Ordered a Space Gray 128 iPhone 6 Plus at 3:15am. Initial screen showed delivery time on 9/19. Received email confirmation about an hour later and it showed delivery of 10/14. I called at 8am and cancelled that order and ordered the 128 Space Gray iPhone 6. Confirmation email shows delivery of 9/19. This will give me a chance to use the 6 and see the Plus in the stores. I was on the fence between the two right up until 3:01am. I was running through the airport yesterday pulling a carry on and I did appreciate using the 5s easily with one hand. Hopefully, the 4.7 will be just as easy.

I actually did something similar, and ordered an Apple phone for delivery on 9/19 while my Verizon one isn't slated to deliver until 10/7. The Apple one is full price while the other is subsidized. I'm hoping the Verizon one arrives soon enough for me to make the decision and not have to go a few days without a phone.

Order Date: 09/12/2014
Deliver By: 09/19/2014

But when I go to the website and go to 'Check Order Status' it doesn't show the order at all. I have to search by the preorder confirmation number I get this:

Here is the status of your Pre-Order:
We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time.

Does anyone else get this? Know what it means?
 
Yeah they will sit at the hub for the majority of next week and then begin the process of actually shipping to their destinations. These phones have been sitting in Memphis for probably a little while now. Man if they sent them out early to all the satellite locations for delivery in a few days...everyone would get their phone early lol

The local branches will get them early. Consumers? Not happening.

Right, I worded that wrong. I meant if they start sending them out to local branches as soon as the orders came in as opposed to what they do where they wait till later in the week right before the launch.
 
i ordered on 9.12 at 2:54am. i received a confirmation email stating delivery by 9.19. later in the day i received an email from fraud prevention asking me to call in to verify my order. i did that this morning. in the process of doing this, they told me that their warehouses would not be receiving the iPhone until the 19th and therefore i will not get it till 2 business days after it ships. furious, i asked to speak to customer care and they told me the exact same thing. anyone else with this scenario? really annoying. hoping they are just as clueless as most other carriers and i still get it on the date promised in the email. customer care said the email was wrong and should of said ships by, not delivers by. i ordered the 6+ 64gb gold and my wife a 6 64 gold and they said the same for both.

That's exactly what I see. Spoke to Verizon again and they said I'd get an email once it's shipped. I asked what the estimated shipping date would be and she said 9/18??? I dunnnooo?

In the past, the date it says it will ship on is actually the delivered by date. For example, this year my iPhone 6 128GB says both ship on and deliver by of the 19th depending on where I look. But it's not even sold out, if someone goes and buys it right now it will get here on the 19th. With that being said if it says it will ship on the 19th it actually means it will be delivered on the 19th. This has been true for the last 3 preorders of iPhones for me at least.
 
My shipping notice says my phone got picked up in Memphis! It isn't shipping from China.
 
I had two separate orders for regular 6 64gb Gray. Both have tracking numbers, one is coming from Memphis with delivery by Friday 3pm, the other is in West Chester, PA with delivery of Thursday by 3pm.

You got yours a day early last year? That's awesome. I don't have a tracking number yet, but my card has been charged so i imagine i'll get my tracking sometime today.

Did you guys get an email when you got your tracking number or was it surprise? I hope I get the by 3PM delivery time and not the 8pm.

The problem here will be that I took Friday off to be home for delivery but not Thursday :)

Of course, I'm betting it'll move to Friday delivery anyway, but in the unlikely circumstance I miss delivery Thursday I'll go pick it up at the Fedex depot after work Thursday.

The other irony is, the first order I got in at around 2:57am and the order got an error, so I tried again at 4am and that order is the one with Thursday delivery.

I plan on returning one of them; will I have to pay a restocking fee on a completely sealed, shrinkwrapped phone? I'll argue if they try to make me pay for that.
