just as a short intro: i told myself i would stay off this website due to all the stress it caused me with the iPhone 5 preorder. i was worried sick because of everyone's problems/speculation. crazy enough, i got the phone on the release date with 0 problems and all that speculation was good for nothing..

BUT. I'm back (regrettably) and this time i am a bit worried.. when i preordered my 6+ 64gb at 2:57am, i had to use my debit card with a different name than the account owner. when entering card info, it states that the name on the card must be the same as the account owner. I'm almost positive this was the same scenario when i preordered my i5 and all was good, however i haven't gotten a $1.00 or $0.00 charge yet which is getting me anxious. i just want to get rid of this gs4 and move on -_-

anybody else enter a different name than the account owner but have signs that its okay?

Oh NO! Tell me you didn't do that! Not only was your order not placed, you'll probably be blacklisted...

Just kidding. I did the same thing as a business purchase. My order has been charged and I got the shipment notification today. I think you'll be fine. Unfortunately, VZW DOUBLED my order and I have both a 6 and 6+ in the system. That's another story...

I did the same thing and was also worried. Everything ended up going okay and my order is processed and should be shipping shortly. I did call to verify and they did mention it took much longer for them to verify the card as not fraudalent and okay the charges because of that but it still went through.

I ordered through the vzw website with a CC that had a different name on it than the account holder. Same billing address though. Process went through smoothly and now i have tracking info. You should be fine.

I used a debit card with a different name and billing address than what is on my vzw account. I have a confirmations email that says delivered by 9/19 and when i check on vzw site it says expected ship date 9/18. All seems to be good but have not checked to see if my bank account has been charged.
 
I don't know if you already got help on this - but I wasn't their customer either. Call this number: 1800-922-0204 and then from the menu press the number for checking your order. It will ask for your confirmation number and tells you if your order is shipped! :)

I tried this, no option like that was given to me by the automated machine.

Great tip! When I called it said "pending shipment" which seems promising.

whew, okay I'm gunna stop worrying. seriously tho, 33pgs of peoples concerns doesn't make this any easier.

WORD OF ADVICE: literally the same exact stuff was going on with the iPhone5 preorder. wheres my order? why haven't i been charged? will i be okay? why is it saying 9/29 when i ordered at 3:15am?..eventually, everybody got their phone on the release date who pre-ordered before 7am. apple was anticipating a huge launch so they have millions of phones stocked up. so if you ordered quickly, you'll get it launch day, trust me

Mine said that all day yesterday and this morning and then around 5pm it finally gave me a tracking number - so don't worry if your e-mail says delivery by 9/19 you will get your tracking info soon! :p

Name on my card was different than the account name. Card was charged and received notice it shipped earlier today w/ tracking #.
 
Ordered 6 and 6+

I went to the Verizon Store at 08:30 and there were 10 sales people and 1 customer other than me. I wanted to make sure I didn't lose my unlimited data plan and felt more comfortable doing it there.

The 6 shows a ship date of Sep 19:D. The 6+ Oct 21:(.

Thank you so much for that information! I am a new customer as well! It worked like charm (mostly) I was so excited when they were saying "Your order will ship by _____" only to have them not fill in the blank about when it would ship. How cruel! :p Guess I'll just have to try again tomorrow! Speaking of tomorrow....
anyone know if they will ship on Sundays? My fiancés phone is strangely going through USPS (which I've been reading through these to see if anyone else is finding that they are going through USPS as well but no one seems to be!) so I know there's no mail on Sundays and I'm not sure if my phone is going to do the same and go through USPS or what the deal is. If it does go through USPS I really do hope that they still ship orders out. :/

I think I may have made a bit of a boo boo. My Verizon account is listed as FirstName MaidenName MarriedName, but my credit card is listed as FirstName MarriedName. I allowed the system to auto-enter FirstName MaidenName MarriedName as the billing address. I've seen threads popping up here-and-there regarding orders being canceled for "fraud." I'm now trying to enter a different credit card to see if it'll let me update the billing address, but the system is "busy" and, of course, customer disservice isn't around. :(

I was concerned about something like this earlier because I realized our Verizon Acct is under my wife's name, and I used a CC with my name on it. Got freaked out and called customer service and the rep seemed pretty quick to tell me that the name on the card doesn't matter as they just go by the numbers. Put me at ease, but then again I have no more updates other than my conformation email. Still nervous.

I don't think my potential issue will be with Verizon but rather with my CC company. They have my maiden name on record, so hopefully they realize that I'm the same person!
 
Okay, I ordered two phones on our account and have two order numbers, they were ordered using Edge so I don't have the advantage of being able to watch for an authorization on my card.

For my hubby's 6 I have received a shipping verification with a FedEx tracking number, it's coming from Memphis and will be here Friday by 3:00 pm. I tried the OrderLocation_OrderNumber that someone suggested above and it did not work.

My 6+ seems to be lost in space. I know it was ordered, I received my confirmation email and my phone on MyVerizon shows that I am waiting on a new device and can't make any changes on my account until that device is activated. My order confirmation email says it will ship by 10/7 and at first the order status page said the same. Now I am getting what seemingly everyone else with the 6+ is getting, no shipping date available. Has ANYONE who ordered a 6+ gotten a shipping verification? Obviously anyone who purchased the 6 will get their phones on time, but what about us plus people? My current phone is on its last legs, it has to be plugged in in order to work. If I unplug it, it might last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes but then it dies. I was so frustrated with it before the keynote that I almost bought a 5s but I decided to hold out, thinking that I could last until 9/19. Now I have to last until at least 10/7 or maybe even later and I am scared to death that one of these times it isn't going to turn back on! This is very frustrating!

On the order I have that has a tracking number I used the sequence you gave me as a reference number on fedex.com and it did NOT work.

Thanks for that, did you add zeros in front of your order number so that your order number is nine digits?

Sadly, I was one of the people who logged on exactly at 3:00am set and got ecpd errors on the verizon site.

I ended up ordering my a few hours later and got a delivery date of 10/7.

I ordered on the 12th later in the day till i figured out how the trade in program would work. I have a date of no later than 10/7. Hoping it will be sooner since i also signed up for the trade in, which doesn't give me a lot of time to ship it to them.

According to the message that I got from a Verizon rep, you have until 12/31/14 to send in your trade in device.

Plenty of time...
