I just reached out to someone I know at Verizon that reached out internally to find out what the deal is with the preorders and it's exactly what I've been saying along with what others have said. Your confirmation email is the "bible". Whatever date is in that email, is the date you get your phone. Don't pay any attention to the order status system as it won't likely be updated until a few days before the phone ships for most people.

Anyone that was going to have problems with their order pretty much heard from Verizon about it already, but it's a good bet if you don't get any emails from Verizon by COB tomorrow, your order is good to go. based on your confirmation email

Alright, I finally got some answers! I just called and spoke with a rep who agreed with me that there has been a ton of contradictory as far as reps who have said that phones aren't shipping out until 9/19 and not delivering on 9/19.
She was reading aloud something off of what I would assume was an updated document on delivery times....it said that phones will be sent out on 9/18 for 9/19 delivery and that it is possible that phones have already been shipped out but that FedEx won't deliver until 9/19.
Another thing she mentioned was that she listed a time frame...if I placed my order between these times (which I had) then it will definitely delivery on 9/19. I couldn't hear the times very well otherwise I would have shared them with you guys so maybe someone else can be at ease with me. haha for now I'm just going to relax and hope for the best. Hope that this time I heard from her was correct and know that it is okay that I haven't received my tracking number yet. At least I know that at the very latest it could come on the 18th! So for anyone who is as worried sick about this as I am...maybe you can find some comfort in knowing that as well haha

Honestly, to me the whole 'time frame' thing makes no sense.

If "THE MEMO" was sent out before the launch, they'd have no way of knowing how many orders would be taken, so it makes no sense that way.

If it was sent out after launch, there's a low possibility that EVERY model would have the same number of orders vs. stock for that 3 hour window, so that makes no sense either.

I could understand them saying, if you were the first 500 orders blah blah you'll get your phone, but every order between 12-3 just doesn't add up.

(If someone else can think of a way this fulfillment promise would work, please feel free)
 
How do you know you placed your order between those times if you don't know what the times were?

You guys don't have to be so mean :( She asked me what time I order the phone and I told her and she listed off times. Then said "which you ordered within that time frame so you will definitely get your phone by 9/19"

Also as a side note she did need to know the color and size of the phone to know when the ship date would be because it is different per color and size!

I placed mine at 3:15am EST. I wish I knew the time frames she said so that I could help more! :(

I thought the same thing! haha but I'm thinking that the reason there was so much confusion for the last few days is because they were waiting for an updated memo. Once they had all the orders and counted how many they could deliver for on each delivery date they then set the time frames. So it wouldn't be something that they set up before pre-ordering began but something that was set up after they were able to look at their numbers. This still could be wrong but it's my best guess for the information that was given to me.
 
Two previous iPhone preorders with Verizon:

4: Received a confirmation email within a couple of hours of ordering. Email said ship by 02/10/2011. Seemed like every story from everyone who talked to a rep was different, with the most negative ones getting the most attention. Delivered on 02/10/2011.

5: Received a confirmation email within an hour of ordering. Email said deliver by 09/21/2012. Seemed like every story from everyone who talked to a rep was different, with the most negative ones getting the most attention. Credit card (Discover) auth charge showed pending and credited back on Friday. Order status showed a delayed then empty date over the weekend. Credit card charged for full amount on Monday. Shipping notification email on Tuesday. Delivered on 09/21/2012.

So far this one is tracking exactly with my 5 preorder experience.

Well my 9/12 ship date from my email confirmation, that was 10/14 on the order status lookup, has now changed to "Not available at this time". At least something changed. lol

I ordered two phones at different times:

1:30am - Iphone 6 / 128gb / Space Gray

9:00am - Iphone 6 / 64gb / Silver

I have Fedex shipment tracking that shows both will show up on the 19th.

Funny thing is that the 128gb got picked up on Memphis and the 64gb was picked up in Pennsylvania???

I'm not sure why you're so insistent that we won't. We have in the past. No reason to believe they're lying to is now.

I never said people won't. That would be hypocritical. I'm saying people have no validity in saying someone will based on past releases. Common sense.

Look at what that person said, the email said delivers on 9/12. Based on your past experiences, he should have received his phone already. Right???
 
Is this typically the next step before getting tracking? It's been like this since last night. I don't really expect anything to happen on a Sunday but just wondering.

I would use the 611 or the toll free number to check but it only works for the Verizon account that I'm currently on instead of my new account.
