I ordered two 6+ iPhones last night around 12:15am PDT, and my confirmation email says delivers by 9/19.

Has anyone had experience with this not being reliable in past years? I have never ordered from a carrier, always from Apple in the past. I just couldn't get through to Apple last night and gave up and tried Verizon.

After I ordered from Verizon, I was able to get "reservation #'s" for the same phones from Apple's iOS app.

If people think the delivery date from Verizon is not reliable, I will try and cancel the Verizon order and try to complete the Apple order.

You did the right thing ordering directly from Verizon. I completed my order at exactly 3AM ET for the iPhone 6+ 128GB Silver and the order status (and email confirmation) shows Deliver by 9/19.

Exactly 2 years ago, I did the same 3AM thing with the iPhone 5, ordering directly from Verizon. Fedex delivered it on the same exact day that it was available to buy in Apple retail stores. I didn't have to leave the house and was activating the phone mid-afternoon while people were still fighting in lines at the store ;)

Certainly glad to hear this!

Have any of you Verizon guys had charges on your credit/debit card yet since ordering? I've received the email confirmation and Verizon's website confirms the order and says "We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 09/19/2014", but Bank of America isn't showing any charges yet. Is this normal?

I believe it's normal. 2 years ago with the iPhone 5, a Verizon charge didn't show up on my credit card until a couple days before the phone arrived.

Most companies will not charge your card until the item ships.

When I looked at my credit card statement, there was an authorization for $1.00 from Verizon. They just pinged the card to make sure it was valid. When the item is ready to ship, Verizon will charge the card.

Thanks for the confirmation. The Verizon order system doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I could find the order status page from the email they sent, but could not find it anywhere from my account online. When I did check the order status online, it just says:

Here is the status of your Pre-Order: We received your order and it is in process.
Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time.

Does everyone have this problem. My monthly charge thing went up to 80. When wil it go back down to 40 like a smart phone is per month. Or is this only for the first month.

Don't worry. Verizon is on the ball with iPhone pre-orders, despite the order tracking being barebones. It'll show up according to the "Deliver by" date in your email.

The iPhone 6+ order was identical to the 5 for me:

Refreshed at 12:01,

Unable to order because of some glitch with IE

Installed Chrome after trying to order for 5 minutes.

Hit preorder link, said I was existing customer, login, picked iphone6+.

IPhone 6+ 16gb was at delivery of mid October already but I wanted 64gb and it still said 9/19.

Changed the shipping address to me, couldn't change the billing address because I share the account with my brother. Entered my card number, told it I wanted the upgrade to be on the family plan, placed the order. Done at @12:15

Checked order status, delivery of 10/7, although confirmation page and confirmation email said 9/19.

I called my bank today to tell them to accept a charge from Verizon for $***.**.

Called Verizon to see if there would be a problem with the billing address issue being different than my CC and they said no.

Checked order status and shipping date changed to unavailable at this time.

IDENTICAL to 2 years ago. So I know the shipping date will change sometime Wednesday night and will say delivery of 9/19 with a tracking number and my card will be charged in a few days.

Be sure to print out the release form for your door when you find out if its fedex or ups. They will be in a hurry to drop it off.

You will probably see a $1.00 hold on your account, to verify your credit card essentially. When they make your shipping label, usually 1-3 days before the 19th, you will get charged the full amount. It is a good idea to call your issuing bank and let them know to expect a large charge from Verizon next week, especially if you want to be sure it doesn't get cancelled.

Mine said 80 and I don't know what that is:
40 for phone plus month in advance, access to data plan? Both would be $80. My confirmation email said $120 which could be the $40 a month plus $80 data fee. It should continue to be whatever it is, Verizon billing requires a second language to interpret, its needlessly clandestine.

I'm not touching a thing with my credit card company. I regularly pay verizon with the same credit card and didn't have trouble with the iPhone 5. I feel like calling them could only screw something up. People are really bad at their jobs.

My bank as of this morning hadn't seen anything so Verizon wont try to process till its time to ship. They aren't going to be super picky because scrutinizing 3 million orders would mess soo much up. I make payments to my brothers account with a card with a different billing address every month with no problems. All it ever asks for is the 3 numbers on back and a billing zip code. Lots of people make payments on Verizon accounts with CC's that don't match the account holder.

I had to wait like 1-2 weeks for my Verizon S3 two years ago. I ordered my 6+ from Apple this time. Took me ~45 minutes but it shows estimated delivery on 9/19.

Yes I know this? Did I say something to the contrary? I said before in this thread that they only check your CC # your CVV code the expiration date and the billing zip code. I guess it depends on what card you use, I've used my AMEX for the last 5 preorders and they have always had a $1.00 hold immediately, just like this time. It is a merchants way of checking to make sure the card works and has available funds on it. I never said anything about Billing Name being different. Mine always is. Sorry if I said something confusing.

That is unfortunate. Luckily I have always had mine delivered right on time by Verizon. Only problem this time was the error in pulling up my profile due to the corporate discount on my account.

I guess, they can't really screw it up it is just like if you are traveling and you call your issuing bank to let them know your card will be used somewhere else. I just called them due to the fact I bought off contract so a $900.00 charge from Verizon is not normal.

Someone asked the same question on VZW site forums and this was the response he got from a Verizon CSR:

"Brojio, we're so excited about your iPhone 6 order! The correct ship date is provided in your confirmation e-mail.

Yay #######

I ordered an iPhone 6 (gold 16g wife) and a 6+ (silver 64g for me) in one order from Verizon. As someone has probably already mentioned, Verizon pre-orders went live about 5-6 minutes early (11:55pm Pacific). Got my order done at 12:01am (went very smooth) and got a confirmation email a couple hours later with a delivery date of 9/19. As of this post, my order status on Verizon's site still shows ship date 9/19. Not sure why the email said delivery date 9/19 and the order status show that as ship date but hopefully it will arrive next Friday.

Would you mind taking a pic of your order status page? My confirmation email says delivery 9/19 but order status page says "not available at this time".

It does this every year. It will be delivered on the 19th.

Ordered last night right around 3AM EST, delivery by 9/19.

Just got another e-mail from VZW that I was approved to add another line to my account, coincidence?

Ordered

1 - iPhone 6 (64GB Space Gray)
1 - iPhone 6 Plus (16GB Space Gray)
1 - iPhone 6 Plus (16GB Gold)

with expected delivery date on 10/14.

I'm almost for certain its the 6 Plus that made my delivery longer.

What are the chances that Verizon will deliver the iPhone 6 earlier say 9/19?

No problem, here it is as of 3:01pm Pacific
