Unfortunately Fedex won't let you do anything like that till they have tried a delivery attempt. They are very strict with these policies on the iPhones, not a normal shipment to be sure!I know I read awhile back that a few of you were inquiring about picking up the package at a FedEx location and thought it wasn't possible but it is!Hope this helps any of you who won't be around for the delivery time!

Ordered 2 iPhone 6+ Gold 128GB - entered VZW website 11:55PMish PDT, completed both orders by 12:08AM PDT. Received order confirmations for both shortly before/around 12:20AM PDT on Friday. CC charged for $529 by two units on Sept. 14 before midnight. Checked VZW website and noticed tracking number for UPS on one order by 8AM PDT, Sept. 15 and the other tracking showed in website around 9:30AM PDT, Sept. 15.
Latest Update: Around 10:15AM PDT, Sept. 15, received official VZW E-mail - "Verizon Wireless Shipment Notification" for 1st (earliest) tracking number. Still no second offical VZW e-mail notification for 2nd order...yet.

That's correct, unfortunately. I've contacted FedEx about it twice, and they said that per Verizon's rules they have to make one attempt to deliver. Even asked a friend of mine who works at FedEx loading trucks and he said that they're pretty strict about it, not that it's never happened, but said that nobody (at least here local) would do it, as they'd have someone up their rear-end about it. Sucks, I'll get to sit here all day watching FedEx trucks go up and down the street, never stopping.
Yeah my order starts with 211xxx. I'm hoping Verizon charges today. Maybe then I can get my tracking number by tomorrow. It seems the are being fulfilled in order as long as the device is in stock. Common Verizon hurry up!!

I just received an email telling me "Your order has been completed but a tracking number has not yet been assigned. You will receive an email with your tracking information once the package ships. We apologize for the delay."
Now when I look up the pre-order number I've been checking since Friday, it tells me that order's been cancelled.
When I look up the new order # in the email I just received, the ship date is set for 11/4(!!!)

Aww that stinks! :/ I was so hoping to be able to go get it early in the morning on Friday (if everything ends up coming as it should) and not have to wait at home staring out the window for it until 6pm hahaha....I know sounds so pathetic. SO EXCITED.
I just did. She said it was canceled by the system and not anything on my part but that they already rebuilt my order. According to her she said that because it was canceled I was "pushed up to the front of the line and should receive the device by my original order date" but my new order status says 10/28. I asked if there was possibility that it could be here by the 19th and she said it's possible but she also quoted the 10/28 date as being the date from the last order. So now I'm really frustrated. Part of me is tempted to just cancel and order the 128gb 6 because it still quotes a 9/19 date on the Verizon site. After Friday I will be without a phone so I have to do something and I'm worried waiting in line won't get me a 6+.
Haha think about the lines at the Fedex and UPS, it would be madness. Ahh good news! Just got off the phone with another rep at Verizon, he said that the ESN has already been attached to my account and the phone is scheduled to ship 9/17 (this Wednesday) for delivery on 9/19 via FedEx or UPS 2-Day Express. Very interesting, I have never seen Verizon ship UPS, but when I chose my shipping method it said FedEx 2-Day. Guess I'll find out Wednesday!
Did anyone else's order date in MyVZW change to the date of payment? Mine changed, but I'm wondering if it's because that's when they reprocessed my payment or if it pushed me to the back of the line.

I don't think I've seen any posts say their gold iPhone + 16gb shipped. My order was 58,XXX and same date as you.
I haven't seen any either. Must have been extremely low stock of them. Disappointing considering that seems like it would be one of the most popular models
My order date changed to the day my card was charged. I think thats when you are officially out of the "Preorder" system and have a real "order". I had no orders in my account on verizonwireless.com until they charged my card. Also have tracking # in hand roughly 14 hours after the charge.

Received first of two official VZW E-mail - "Verizon Wireless Shipment Notification" at around 10:15AM PDT on Tuesday, Sept. 15. My second official VZW Shipment Notification e-mail arrived about 10:50AM PDT on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Both UPS tracking numbers do not show in their system, as per usual UPS needing >24 hours tracking to show on-line.

Not sure if this is new information or not but I just spoke with a Verizon rep on the phone and she said any phone pre-orders made between 9/12 and 9/17 would start to ship on 9/19. She was reading that from an internal shipping schedule.
I ordered two iPhone 6+ 128's (Silver, Space Grey) on 9/12 at 4:49am with a shipping date of 10/14. I'm confident I'll get them much sooner than that. Maybe even next week.
