Well, I do have a verizon question. If I travel to EU or other countries, can I take the sim card out of my iPhone 6+ and put in the local carrier to use it?
Thanks everybody.

Yes as long as you chose to have it unlocked internationally it will be good to go. Otherwise you will just have to call verizon once you get it and they can unlock it internationally.

Eagerly awaiting the iPhone 6 to launch, I sought to my wireless carrier for a solution. Verizon, like many other places was selling pre-orders for the phone. I waited up until 3AM and ordered the phone. The process seemed painless, as I completed my order in only 4 minutes. But this was farthest from the truth.

9/11 - Paid my Verizon bill for the month, as well as 50% of my EDGE agreement. To upgrade the device I would have to have the device half paid off. Which of this date, it was. (I was grandfathered into the 50%, as now it is 60% to upgrade)

Due to the immense demand of the iPhone, I called Verizon twice on this day to make sure that my account was in good standing. They confirmed that it was.

9/12 - I pre-ordered my device at 3:04 AM. At 5:24 AM I have received my confirmation e-mail with the order number, shipping date & delivery date. Furthermore, I also received my EDGE contractual agreement I signed.

9/15 - My order was cancelled by Verizon. Concerned, I called Verizon looking for a reason. After speaking with the 1st representative, she informed me that my order was cancelled due to my Edge agreement not being valid.

I requested a manager.

Upon speaking to (manager), I found out a few key details. The woman gave me a tracking number for my order. Then began to explain that my order was fine and my phone would be arriving on Friday. 9/19.

During this time, Ms. () put me on hold to find out more details.

When the representative came back she began to say that my order was cancelled and that her manager said to contact the Edge team.

Back on hold.

When Ms. () came back, she said that my order was in fact cancelled. Confused, I ask her why.

She stated that my account was not eligible to Edge up at this time. I asked her why was I able to pre-order the device and generate a contract?

She did not have an answer.

I was very angry at this point in time. () then said that it would not be an issue and she would be able to pre-order another iPhone and send it to me overnight and it could arrive on my original schedule date.

I was estatic.

Ms. () then asked for my phone preference. I stated, iPhone 6+ 64gb Space Grey. Upon doing that she then stated, I’m sorry, but those are back ordered until 11/4. I am sorry for your inconvenience.

I then asked about the tracking number. She explained that the tracking number isn’t for one phone, but for an entire batch of phones. Wait… You mean to tell me that I was giving information in regards to a pallet of iPhones that is sitting in a warehouse?

Seems odd to me.

She then said that she was able to wave my next bill of $44 and kept apologizing

I declined and hung up, as I did not want to say things I would regret.

Now, I am left with a Verizon EDGE contract, a pre-order confirmation and a tracking number that is scheduled to come to my house on the 19th.

preordered saturday night the device shipped today, just pop my att sim in Friday and ill be ready to go.

This is no longer necessary. All 4G/LTE verizon phones ship unlocked to non-domestic carriers.

At least for me when I pre ordered it asked me if I wanted to keep my SIM card, and then in the next popup it also asked if I used my phone internationally (if not I would have to call at a later date to have it unlocked)

Why do you think yours shipped so quickly? Lots of people are allegedly still waiting for shipping details from 3 AM Friday morning orders.

Yeah I ordered it at 12:45PST and I'm still waiting for a tracking. My debit was officially charged as of today....

W779001
64GB Silver 6 Plus
No Tracking, Transaction Pending on CC
Ordered 9/12 at 1AM Pacific (4AM Eastern)

Today my phone finally switched to processing! Can't wait until tomorrow to get me tracking number!! Looks like I will be getting my phone on launch day!

Wowww, get an email from Verizon and my heart stopped thinking it was a shipping update. Just another "on hold" notice about my first failed order

I suspect what it was asking you is if you wanted international roaming turned on, not if you wanted your phone unlocked, but I could be wrong. I didn't go through the upgrade process this time. Paid retail.

Got my shipping confirmation from Verizon, 64gb silver plus will be here Friday. So much for those people at the beginning of this thread that were SO SURE we wouldn't get out pluses until October!

I paid full retail and it asked me this as well, something to the tune of "Do you plan on using your phone internationally? Note you can always call later to activate this feature"

Ohhhh it could be that. I can't claim to have read it carefully as I selected my answers rather fast just to get my order placed.

What the hell?

I am worried this is going to happen to me. A rep told me that they would reopened the order, but I am still seeing it as canceled. They said that they would re-open the order and that I would receive two e-mails, but it has been about ~1hr30mins and I have not. If you have a tracking number, I bet you are in the clear. Did you get a 6+? I also had my order canceled because of EDGE, but I was adding a new line onto an existing account.

I've had 4 orders cancelled. If I have another one cancelled I'm just going to the verizon store on Friday.

It's crazy. We didn't do anything wrong either, just by the book.

It was a 6+ 64gb Space Grey.

I don't think there is a light at the end of this tunnel that's for sure.
