I guess Anand's recent post on their website where they are calling for new writers is a kind of confession that they are undermanned and hence they could not deliver the review within the time frames (I deliberately used plural form of frame due to multiple delays) they expected.

This might be an indication that we may get the review sooner or later. Regardless, I expect an ultimate response from Mr Hammer or another co-worker of Anand whether this review is really coming, and if so, when, along with a time window if not a precise date. I think ppl following this thread deserve this at the very least. If you look at from the other side of the coin, it is IMO 99% certain that Mr Hammer or another co-worker of Anand or likely Anand himself is seeing the reactions here and unfortunately they deliberately opt not to comment at all. At least I will definetely be thinking like that if no comment is made in a couple of days or so. After that I don't know the other ppl but I would not bear the fact that we are being completely ignored.

Someone using Twitter might contact him. He usually answers there. But hey, 3 months! This is rather pathetic...

a lot have tried. I guess he can't hear the question "when will the rmbp review be out?" anymore. (and. i understand it)
I mean peope really are HATING just because of a review

an update would be great as to whether it is cancelled, delayed, or a status. the mac pro review was released before the rmbp.

Thousands of happy new rMBP owners are getting work done efficiently on these new machines.....all without the "Mothership" of reviews.....see the pattern?

It's not needed...none of his stuff is, it's really one big Internet Gear Review Hero circle that he wants to be needed by you and you want to bow in praise to he that is to be bowed to...

Lets all let this thread die and wake up to the fact that Mr. "And-And" is simply no longer needed in order to make a well considered buying decision in this day and age.

I mean really......Internet Gear Review Heros?

Assuming that Anand is not -at least officially- surfing on this forum, Mr Hammer, please MAN UP and tell us whether the review is on its way or not.

I have nothing new to tell. I'm still under the impression that the review is coming because that's all what Anand has said. I'm just one of the writers, I don't know Anand's schedules or progress.

Wow, entitled much?

thank you for the post, it was very good of you to provide a comment. does he know the level of interest in the review? the mac pro review was released first, I would have to believe that apple sells more laptops than expensive pro desktops.

i have read on tech websites that notebooks sell more/ popular than desktops.

I'm sure he knows of this thread. I believe he once reacted on twitter regarding this thread (edit added link at end, he did)

And you don't need to explain that notebooks sell more then desktops, really ..lol. They review stuff they find interesting, it's more important to them then the business (to get a lot of views on the website). Let's be honest, if you were in Anand's shoes: review a totally redesigned bad ass Mac Pro, or review the Haswell 15" rMBP, which in the end is just a spec bump. What do you choose?

It's not that I don't care about this review. After the Haswell rMBP's got announced, I obsessively waited every day for AnandTech's review of it. After a few weeks, I stopped being obsessive and just waited, in a normal way. Now, I don't wait for it anymore. If it comes, great, I will read it for sure.

Some tweets for the people that didn't know about them:

"that’s next on the list, most of it is written I just couldn’t finish prior to the Mac Pro being done" (31 dec, Regarding rMBP)

"Sweet! is the 15” rMBP still in the works, or was it too similar to previous models? (question)"
"still in the works" (31 dec, reaction from Anand)

"Haswell rMBP review is still in the works, running in tandem with Mac Pro" (20 dec, Anand)

"Maybe we need set up AnandRumors? :p *with link to this thread* (question)"
"HAHAHAHA, I feel bad I wanted to finish up a while ago just keep getting pulled around with travel" (6 dec, Anand)

Tim, my friend, he has a very good idea of the "level of interest." Major web sites using a whole bunch of analytical tools. There's an entire field of people who specialize in this stuff, and those who are very good get paid a lot of money. Plus, his entire business model is oriented around traffic.

The bottom line is that this is simply an uninteresting review. It's a minor revision of an existing product. It's hard to come up with with a fascinating, intensive, sophisticated review of something that's basically already been discussed in detail. By contrast, the Mac Pro was an entirely new product.

Per his Twitter account, it will appear. Folks need to chill out.

This post reminds me of The Crunge

" Has anyone seen the bridge... Where's that confounded bridge?"

I think its pretty funny that there are people still waiting on his review after this long =p . Just look up his review for the previous generation model, it wasn't exactly a big refresh for the late 2013 model. He's not going to say anything that the 10's of other major reviews haven't already.

Actually it should be exactly the other way around. If it's a minor revision, then you can keep it short and sweet, pretty much just providing the graphs with minimal commentary.

Except that's not Anand's style. It really never has been. His reviews are frequently incisive and dive into aspects that many people hadn't even thought of until they read the review. The fewer the changes, the harder it is for him to write an Anand-style review.

Apple made the trace 0.01mm wider near R1, improving electrical performance and reliability. ;)

Can someone setup a website dedicated to News and Rumors about Anandtech's Haswell rMBP Review? Don't forget a forum too.

Analysts suggest that a review may or may not come from Anand in the future. Stay tuned.

Inside sources indicate that the Haswell rMBP review will have 19 sections, one more than the Ivy Bridge review. Sources also hint that low yields on iGPU vs. dGPU performance comparisons are cause for delay.

Btw, it is funny how people keep coming back to this thread just to say that (a) they don't care about the review anymore and (b) that they don't understand why people still wait for it.
Like going to a car show and telling everyone you don't care for cars.

Where did you get this information?

+1. Not to mention that they assume that the sole reason ppl who are waiting for the review is to base their buying decision, as if they can read ppl's minds. Regardless of the reason, why ppl's interest bother you? Jeez, mind your own business!

It is funny how people keep coming back to this thread just to opine about people's opinions about an non-existent article relating someone's opinions on the MBP.

this is the last day of January and no review
wonder if we will get a refresh or review first.
