Hahaha, just seen this thread thanks to Anand's twitter. Glad I'm not the only one who's been waiting bloody months now for this review. It better be excellent.
Certainly, I think he'll be disappointed by the lack of graphical power in the regular 15" MBPR.
There probably is no point to this guy's review at this juncture, I have had my machine long enough to know that it does not matter what some guy who lives his entire life wrapped around tech would say, the thing just works brilliant, no lags, no screen issues, runs cool, amazing battery life and **very** fast with it's 1TB PCIe drive.
My suggestion? Find a real hero in life, one that actually deserves this kind of attention, not an Internet Gear Review Hero, LOL. Oh yeah, buy the computer if you want a great computer, end of story.
Why is he running window on that machine?
Hmmmf

"HAHAHAHA, I feel bad I wanted to finish up a while ago just keep getting pulled around with travel"
Why is he running window on that machine?

Any updates on this?
No, because, judging by your joining date to this forum and your post count, I assume you are one of the many people out there who has heard about Anand for the very first time and his God-like figure and cannot pull the trigger before he opines, and Anand takes advantage of this to further improve his reputation and his website by posting various stuff, from serious ones such as iPad Air & Mini reviews to trivial ones such as smartphone audio quality testing and from interactive "Ask the Experts" posts to admittedly incredible holiday giveaway post, combination of which would generate a "wow" effect on a person like you.

It's not Anand's, it's Chris' rMBP and article (he's our audio/monitor gear guy). The software he needs for the analysis is Windows only.

It's been 50 days since Rmbp was released, still no review. Refreshed again today.
Man...Anand should fire himself.
First off, the review is not for you. It's for people who haven't bought. I assure you that Apple didn't stop selling MacBook Pros the minute you bought yours.
Second, I don't get why you see the need to attack the guy. He and his editors are extremely good writers (a rarity in tech) who distill complex stuff down to simple terms. Recognizing his skill set is not making him a "hero"; it's giving credit where it's due. As for it being a "great computer," I respectfully submit that the vast majority of users aren't qualified to render a judgment nearly as informed as Anand's. It's great that you're happy with your purchase, but your opinions are...shall we say...not comprehensive nor empirically rigorous. If you think because you've purchased a lot of high-end gear that you know the ins and outs sufficiently to render that judgment...well, I'm just going to suggest that's a naive point of view.
Third, and perhaps most important, what's with the anger? Bad day at work or something? I can't see anything in this thread that merited your tirade, so I'm at a loss.
I can't wait to read Anand's review, but I sometimes wonder - if someone is waiting for his review to make a decision on the notebook, do they even know what they're buying either way?
Kinda like that "if you have to ask.." phrase.
