With the conference call on Tuesday, I think there is a chance that they'll be released next week.

Then, Mavericks will be released about a month after the updated rMBPs (late august/beginning of september) giving all the new rMBP users a free update to Mavericks.

I can't see Apple releasing new rMBPs, Mavericks, iPhone 5S, iPods and maybe iPads in September/October at once. They'll have to spread it out to get more sales. No one is going to buy both an rMBP, iPhone/iPod and iPad at the same time.

So, within 14 days, I hope to order my new Haswell rMBP (I'm optimistic in this great weather. 28c sunny this week!).

Maybe I'm pessimistic because it's 1 degrees Celcius here in Leura, Blue Mountains, Australia.

There is certainly a chance they will ;) Otherwise it's going to be September or October. If not next week we'll have to just hunker down through August.

may Steve heard our prayers.

You forgot the iMacs and Mac Mini's.

Wow, a fellow Melbourian.

How does the back to school promotion play into this?

They'll most likely just exclude the new models from the BTS sale, which means it'll still be an attractive deal for people not wanting the very latest model.

What are the opinions on Apple going with Workstation GPUs such as nVidia's Quadro-series for the 15" rMBP? They seem to be promoting OpenCL a lot, but looking at the near future the Mac Pro will benefit from this the most with 2 of those GPU's.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with OpenCL and have no idea if "workstation" GPUs perform better then "gaming" GPUs using OpenCL.

I have a theory that AMD gave Apple Radeon prices for those FireGL cards in the Mac Pro.

I say this because if Apple is paying the prices AMD wants for those processors they would have been better to go with NVIDIA. The performance on the K20 is higher. It is clear to me that they went AMD for price reasons (Not that the cards are crap, they are actually very fast).

So I am wondering if they did get such a deal which is what I suspect that perhaps they could extend this on to the MacBook Pro and truly turn it into a Pro machine like the Mac Pro.

Remember years ago when the Mac Pro came with a 7300GT while other workstations from Dell came default with Quadro's? It seems that Apple is reversing course and now offering workstation graphics by default in their Pro desktop and if they feel that way about the Mac Pro which is a low-volume product perhaps they are thinking this way about their Pro portables also?

I'd personally like to see a pro GPU in the MacBook Pro and I'm willing to pay for it.

well isn't that Apple have been switching between AMD and NV cards in couple past generations?

sounds like any card that has better price/performance ratio will be selected as the next GPU.

I am waiting for the new rMBP too and saw the link to B&H where a MBP with haswell processor is listed. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?atclk=Processor+Type_Intel+Core+i7+Haswell&ci=18818&N=4110474292+4291615352+4254301290+4100277619+4100277621+4034387733

I asked them if this is a mistake (because at the moment Apple does not sell any MBP with haswell..) and they told me that it is NOT a mistake. They confirmed that this is a MBP with haswell processor. Furthermore I asked for the availabilty (on the website 7-14 days) and they said 7-14 days are the ETA that Apple has given!

I do not know if this are reliable information but I am optimistic. ;)

Why would there be a 2.8? The leaked 2.4 scored higher than IB's 2.8. That seems like the top end for Haswell this year.

Holly-Molly !!! this is very interesting.... it's even Awesome ! Come on! Give me my Haswell rMBP 13"

Maybe it is just a mistake... the code is like current models "ME664"..

If we assume this is true and it will be available in the next few weeks, it could just be them plugging in numbers just as a placeholder till the specs are confirmed. I don't know how tight Apple is with specs leading up to a refresh.

The bad news is that unless that price is just a place-holder, it's $250 more than the current 16GB/256GB SSD rMBP right below it on the i7 page.

I can't help but imagine that the person you were talking to simply repeated all the information on the website (of course they'd say Apple gave the ETA, who else). Still, 7-14 days is almost too good to be a coincidence.
