Now DFW stores are showing "Ship to Store" on apple.com ( I have cleared my cache and history too). I wonder if this is a default message due to the stores being closed for the night. Oh well, we will see tomorrow ;)

shows ships to store for me when checking pincodes in ny or il, could be some glitch.
I dont think im keen on expecting anything till i see it up online. Till then bookmarking this thread for any breaking news:cool::D

Same here in TX, they all say "Ship to Store" when just 2 days ago the closest 5 stores said available for pick-up today :O

I am not sure where do you get this information, guys? All NY stores show available now for all models. Checked using zip code 10019 for example.

Some stores close, some are open 24/7. When all shops are closed, I guess it will say "Ship to store", while if stores are open, it says "available now."

Big deal.

Same as the "NEW" models in BestBuy Canada, that can be clearly identified as current generation models by looking at the serial.

Apple 4K Thunderbolt 2 Display

Just curious and please correct me if I'm wrong.

But Thunderbolt 2 is being released late 2013 (I think I read that somewhere).

Wouldn't it be logical for Apple to wait for that before releasing any new MacBook Pro's?

I'd love to connect to a (wishful thinking) 4K Thunderbolt 2 Display...

(so adding to the mix of upgraded goodies)

NEW - 4th Generation "Haswell" Intel Core i7-4950HQ Processor with NEW Intel HD Graphics 5200.
(Huge improvement in battery life & faster graphics performance)

NEW - PCIe SSD Storage.
(Screamingly faster 727MB/s read and 661MB/s write transfer speeds - as per tested on MBA)

NEW - Thunderbolt 2 (available in late 2013)
(Support for 4K video file transfer and display simultaneously)

NEW - 802.11ac.
(The faster, next-generation standard for Wi-Fi)

(Hoping for a NEW AMD Radeon HD 8970M? dedicated graphics card also...we'll see).

If no update by the end of this month I'd expect it in either Sept or Oct. According to the buyers guide Apple has never updated any of its products in Aug. :(

Hard to say. It all depends on what direction they want to take the "pro's". I find it odd that they have the MacBook "pro's" but no MacBook "Non pro". (I do not see the air as a non pro.)

They should rename the NON Retina's to "MacBook" and it would then be the non "pro" option. They can then keep the old chip 1 gen behind the pros.

But they would not keep the superdrive in it. It's 2013, noone's uses DVDs anymore.

They are not going to redesign a soon-to-be-discontinued machine just to remove the superdrive.

That would force them to use brand new production techniques, making it more expensive than just to ship them with optical drive (where I guess they also have plenty of enclosures in stock!).

No, cMBP's will keep the optical drive till they're discontinued.

Do you think they will put the Haswell into the cMBP? I guess not, since it has not been updated more then a year now!

As many have said before, i also think that the Macbook Pro will be release when OS X Mavericks is ready. Considering that 10.8., which was Developer Released on 16th February with final shipping on 25th of July. This 5 months period will not very likely be any smaller this time ( anything below 4 months is highly unrealistic ). This would mean with the introduction of Mavericks on June, 10th a late October (more likely mid November) timeframe will be it. ( Also fits with Apples, Q3/Q4 predictions )
This would also fit in line with Xmas-shopping-season.

Even so i would love to get my hands on a Haswell MBP for my masters which starts in September, i don't have my hopes up too high.

I have never written about Haswell in a cMBP.

You wrote that they would remove the optical drive from the cMBP - my answer is that I highly doubt it because it's reaching its end of life.

Regarding Haswell, I think that we may see an update to the cMBP (calling it simply MacBook).

I cannot see Apple having ONLY the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro Retina in the line-up. Maybe they'll be ditching the 15" cMBP, only having the 13". But time will tell....

You have a point.

The first developer preview of Mavericks already have a very high build number, making me think that Apple had already tested it intensively before WWDC in a lot of in-house builds.

Beta 3 just seems so refined, that they must be really close to the final product.

However, if Mavericks is 2-3 months away, and the Haswell rMBP's are ready, I am sure that Apple will just release the Haswell rMBP, and probably offer a free upgrade to Mavericks.

Example:

Apple released the 2011 iMacs on May 3, they shipped with Snow Leopard. Lion was released on July 20 (2 months, 17 days later).

And last year: Apple released the rMBP at WWDC in June. They gave anyone who purchased them free upgrades to Mountain Lion which was released the next month.

I for one hope there is not going to be a silent upgrade after the earnings call. Cos tbh I'm still hoping for bigger improvements then just CPU, WiFi and SSD to the rMBP.
I'm not saying that its extremely likely that we will get things like IGZO or a more slimmed down design.
But improvements like that feels like they would not be just pushed out with a silent release. They would come from a event.
So im still hoping.
Even if some think its just a pipe dream :p

Surely we would have had more clues by now if we were expecting a release at some point this week? Seems a bit unrealistic no?

Hi, can anyone confirm this? in Amazon UK?
the base version of macbook pro 13-inch is out of stock in Amazon ( those that are fulfilled by Amazon ).
same goes to High end 13 inch and 15 inch rMBP.

Nop seems to be in stock.
