Then Apple will release MBPs only for USA and Canada, and other english-langaged countries :). The rest will have surprise in few months.

:D.

just a small bit of a query. What if the new haswells have a pcie ssd, how much of a difference would it make between the current ssd on the retina?

Would it still have to face those first generation bugs?

Since guys have been talking of low stocks. Out here in India the super drive has been out of stock since sometime. Ive checked various premium resellers, authorized retail no one has them and do not know when they will be in stock.
While the 15 inch retina has been pretty low but then again the store told me that its just 1 in 7 customers that pick up a 15" retina.

Theoretical speeds are around 300-400 MB/s increase.

Last year during the summer, my cousin went to buy a MBP base 13in and none of the Local Apple stores had stock for a week, so could just be a lot of people bought them?

PCIe is a definite. To answer your question:
• In benchmarks? The difference is huge.
• In day-to-day usage? You won't really notice it.
If you're hitting the disk heavily with some operation, yeah, it'll be faster. And if you ran the two side-by-side, you'd obviously notice the difference. But I don't think we're talking about a big deal for most users.

Doubtful. This is pretty evolutionary rather than revolutionary, so it should be pretty seamless.

I guess i will be happy with my early 2013 its anyways handling whatever software i use on it like a beast unless the specs show some goodies.

This thread is starting to mirror the waiting for 2012 iMac thread!

Steady on fellow waiters. Enjoy the summer, wait a bit, then we get our new machines.
Or Apple springs a nice fat surprise on us and releases this week.

My money is on the former though unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong!!

The wait in 2012 was similar to this one. One difference was at that time the iMac was due for a form factor update. I think the only thing holding back the rMBP is Intel. But hopefully we won't have to wait as long as the iMac took last year

i consider buying the current gen and get done with it...
this is going to be my first mac and my first laptop, i want to get the best bang for the buck i can, but college starts soon and if there will be no new updates it will be apples loss...
the only thing that bothers me is the screen issues (does those issues happen also in the 13?) and the UI lag while web browsing...
i also thought of buying the new air, but the screen is pixelated like my 2nd gen ipad...

If bang for your buck is your goal, you can't beat the 2012 refurbs.

Screens are reportedly fixed in the refresh versions (and they replace them for free if you get unlucky otherwise).

The zoom+scroll while browsing is supposedly software related and seems to be fixed in 10.9 betas.

Nope.
It only tells us that Mavericks may be shipping sooner than we thought. I would say September.
I will count that as a rational if not certain point favoring new MBPr release soon.

It makes no sense to release new hardware AND new software at the same time on a grand scale. Too many things can go wrong.

If one were seeking to minimize the possibilities for consumer complaints and the resultant costs of support, then minimizing that risk by releasing new HW with proven stable SW makes the most sense.

Later, when McCain/Palin is released, then one always has a stable OS to fall back on, should trouble strike.

AAPL may be many things. But crazy and pointless risk-taking it is not.

That's my take, FWIW.

Yep, I'm hoping apple announces the rMBP tomorrow and then offer a free upgrade to Mavericks that will see a release in late August/early September.

There's no reason on delaying a new product just because a new OS may be near to launch. That makes no sense and apple didn't wait till they released ML when they introduced the rMBP. It shipped with Lion.

We could see Mavericks in August, if this unsourced tweet is to be believed. (If someone can find that original tweet being referenced, that would be awesome!)

Man, it wasn't a GM. But maybe Apple just didn't want to call it a GM? (If it is in fact a GM rMBPs might be here soon, shipping with Mavericks!)

It makes sense if there are some rMBP-specific tweaks built into 10.9 that they don't want to bother including in 10.8. Or if they want to inflate the battery life stats by using Mavericks instead of Mountain Lion.

Edit: Or even some graphics tweaks to minimize the difference between the Iris graphics and the dGPU from last generation.
