I spoke this afternoon with someone at the Apple Store in my city, and we talked about the future MacBook Pro retina. He told me it wouldn't be this week or soon, but rather after Back To School... Until now, none of the thing he told me were wrong so... I guess we will have to wait until September, sadly

So the 13" gets a massive GFX boost while the flagship 15" if its only got Iris Pro and no dGFU with actually be worse than the previous gen, doesn't make sense

It is doubtful that he knows any more about future products than people here on this forum. It is a pretty good guess, but don't think it is any more official than the posts on here that say it isn't coming until fall
I also doubt that. It's more likely that the 13" is using the haswell intern gpu and the 15" gets an dGPU.

2) Looking at Intel's lineup, the only CPUs with HD 5000 are the 15 watt ULV chips like those in the Macbook Air. The higher wattage dual core chips either have HD 4xxx series graphics (37 watt models) or HD 5100 graphics (28 watt models).
3) If they were just using the same CPU/GPU as the Macbook Air I would think they would have already released them.

I really do not know where do you keep getting this stuff?! I started to feel like you are lying to yourselves. Every single time someone here mentioned that whatever Mac model is not AVAILABLE in store or that there is a delay in shipping, that was totally wrong for any store for any state. The only thing that is right is that if you choose next-day delivery at any day, it provides you with two days instead at any day with any model. Otherwise, i challenge anyone to tell me that any model is not available in store at anytime unless it is BTO!!
Hmm looks like Kuo still thinks mid September. This is pretty disappointing. I was really hoping for this week or at least before my school starts. I don't know if I can wait until the middle of September. I just hope she's wrong for this one time.
I guess I'll still wait until August and then buy a refurb. Because there's no way I'm paying 2000+ on an old generation MBP with lower specs that I would get compared to a nice refurb.

Buy one just before you start school again and keep it for 13 days before sending it back it be almost mid September then if you really need one.

I know everyone will tell me where did you get this from or totally disagree with me or whatever, but I wanna really disappoint and frustrate everyone here including myself and tell you NO NEW PRODUCTS OR REFRESHES ARE BEING RELEASED THIS WEEK. I am ****ing tired...Apple is sick with its secretive attitude as if it is inventing a new planet and this is no longer acceptable as it is not done nicely anymore and makes people really angry and not happy with the money they pay. They make most of the people in this forum sick including me who instead of focusing on their work or whatever they are gonna do with the machine, consider the machine in itself as the goal and life winning. I am so sorry if I have mixed and unorganized thoughts and if I am pissing anyone off, but that is how I feel right now. Sometimes, if one hides a surprise from you for too long time, he can literally ruin it no matter what it was. Apple has to learn to draw the line or I may be just an idiot person who knows nothing about business or how to make people happy....

I'm making the switch from pc to mac, I wanted to buy the current macbook pro but a lot of people have been talking about a new macbook pro release. hopefully they release it soon.

Though Apple may have first dibs because they're the only ones really doing Thunderbolt, end of the year still seems a little bleak for anything of volume this year (so maybe the Mac Pro, but not the MBP).

It's doubtful that apple will continue the macbook pro series. More likely they will only update the macbook pro retina and discontinue the others.

How is it "not nice"? The problem with pre-announcing products is that it kills sales of your existing products.
A lot of manufacturers don't pre-announce their products. It just so happens to be the case that Apple's users are more passionate than the users of the average brand, so they tend to get in a tizzy about not knowing, the wait, and the hype.
I hate to be rude, but the problem isn't Apple. It's the users. There's really nothing to be angry about here. If the waiting game is too stressful, then maybe you should pick up a current model, or find ways to manage that stress.
Well, I think that if the new one would be released this week, he would already know it because he is one of the "head" of the store... He would know if they already received them or will receive them soon.

I guess one of us is wrong and has his cache/history or whatever uncleared. Try a different browser or an iOS device browser (not the app) or may be someone will confirm one of us is right because I am just tired from all of that. I feel like they caused me to be angry which I have not been before in any situation and that, even if they released it at whatever f... time, I will not be happy at all while buying it. I wish I already had any Mac and I would not be even here and just wait for them to overcook it and even burn it if they want, but I am just feeling this because I got very excited to try mac for the first time.
I can agree to that and would assume if they are ready for release from the Engineering team they might pull-in the release. Depends on the changes....

This is where desperation and reason take different paths.
On one hand, some people would say believe him. He knows what he's talking about as he's never been wrong.
Then you have the other group still desperate for good news that they say of course, he's going to tell you it'll be a long wait. He wants you to buy the old system today. You've already done your part by walking into the store, all he has to do is sell you something.
