If it is not released this week, I'm just going to get a Windows laptop. I'm not paying $2000 for outdated technology.

so have we all given up hope for today then?

I dont believe we will see hd5200 next, so I doubt iris pro is the reason for this "delay". We will see hd5000 with a more powerful discrete chip.

30 more minutes till the conference call.

And yes, if they won't release an haswell update this week i'll also buy a product from an other manufactor.

The earnings call hasn't happened yet. If there is going to be an update this week it will most likely be after the earnings call or tomorrow morning.

Get the Air, that's probably what I'm going to do.

I thought about the Air but the screen resolution is too low. And I want something more powerful. It is a nice laptop, don't get me wrong, but it is not for me.

I'm waiting till next week though before I start looking for other laptops.

When would we expect the store to go down if this is the case? 5pm eastern? 4:45?

Not looking good so far.

Why would they release an update to the mobile App Store right before the conference call?

Yea, that'll show 'em. You spend money on a windows laptop only for you to have regrets, regrets, and more regrets. If it's not released this week, no worries. Just drink yourself silly and keep waiting.

Not sure why people are waiting for the call. From what I've read, this call does not ordinarily announce the new product so why sit through the call and be left to speculate.

As far as the public holiday comment, I was just kidding so people don't think much of anything. Don't you guys like surprises?

You can get quality laptops that aren't made by Apple you know, I'm considering one and I know a friend who is because of the infrequent updates to the mbp line.

Yeah I was just going to post that. So September it is. don't know if I can struggle though my CS classes with a laptop with a broken screen. Hmm.

Still not conclusive
Apple's known for their tricky wording, etc. a refresh of a MacBook could very well not be considered a new product

I don't think that is the case. But I hope so :)

Or, to play the optimist card, he's thrilled about the new stuff coming in fall 2013/2014, and not bothering to mention the stuff (the not-so-important MBP's) that are being silently updated in the short term.

Yeah, just hopeful time-filling banter. ;)

You are too funny! Now, they've given you a response and you still refuse to believe. LOL
