It's a 37W Quad Core with GT2.That has Intel hd 4600. Why would we want that?
Also I doubt apple would put a weaker gpu in the pro than the 11inch air
You're looking at 47-55W for Iris Pro graphics in a quad core.

In addition to this being a rumor from a source that doesn't have historical credibility, even it didn't suggest there was a "custom chip." The language was vague. It could be as simple as something like higher binning. This is how people get their hopes up and then get let down...

Yeah and the Intel Y Series has a 7W SDP. Whatever that really means, oh wait it idles at 800 MHz.All the Haswell chips with Iris Pro 5200 graphics are quad-core and all have a nominal TDP of 47W.
We really do not want to play TDP games.
1440 x 900 or death on the 13.3" model. I don't want a Macbook Air and I was eying the 1080p IPS ASUS panel notebooks. They're so delicious and they're touch screens too. Wantee...I do! I do!
/s
Joking aside, that could go in the 13" but it won't this year.

I don't want a Retina display. People keep suggesting it and it boggles my mind as to why it's suggested.Well, the Retina 13" is 2560x1600. You can set it to 1440x900.

47W is the nominal TDP with a configurable one up to 55W. We really do not want to play TDP games.
The resolution is ridiculous for the amount of GPU power available on a notebook in that form factor. I draw the line at 1080p on mobile. That's enough with a discrete graphics card. Why not?
The math is strong in this one.
I drive 100mph, you drive 50mph.
(100-50)/100 = 0,50 = 50%.....
So i drive 50% faster
I got 2 pies , you got 1 pie.
(2-1)/2 = 0,5 = 50%
So i have 50% more pie than you!

I consider it an insult to be suggested the Retina notebooks.

Not really. It has more to do with Mountain Lion. Wait until Mavericks combined with a 5100 or a 5200 GPU.
My concern isn't the 2D desktop. I was running 1920 x 1200 on a GMA 950. That sucker would only choke when Flash rolled around. Is it? Macs released within the past 4 years can easily run a 2560x1440 TB display together with the integrated display. That's more pixels than the retina display. So why shouldn't it be able to run it?
It's a software issue. Not hardware. And the software issues will probably be minimized with Mavericks.
Didn't we already point that out?

I appreciate the help but seriously guys, I have more posts than everyone on this page combined.
I've been around the block a few times down here and on Page 1. Bleeding edge computer hardware and interoperability is a personal forte.HAHAHA.
Yes and that makes you all mighty and all knowing.
Cos surely no one with that many posts cant be wrong, right?
(Btw im not really saying you are. But that statement was just bonkers)
I am completely just making educated guesses here, I am probably very off in a lot of areas. But I just want to hear what more people think so I can get a better idea of what I will be buying a month from now.
Yeah.... So that's just wrong wrong wrong....
To say you drive 50% faster is just plain wrong.
50% faster would be 75mph.
How ever if you said "Your driving at 50% of my speed" you would be right.
Its all about what vantage point you start with.
And i know you are going to blatantly say i'm wrong now. But ask ANY math scholar or what ever. Or google it.
Example:
I have 1 cake. You have ½ cake. So i have 100% more cake then you.
So in this example i used me as the vantage point and i have 2 times the cake you do.
If how ever i say:
You have ½ a cake and i have 1 cake. You have 50% of the amount of cake, i have.
Here i used you as the vantage point
All depends on what you use as your constant. I.e 100%
What he said was correct.

Well if you want a great idea of what you will be buying soon, then you can do what I and others have done, and that's research everything like hell. Predictions or dream specs won't do much good.
We all have a pretty solid idea of what will be coming.
15in rMBP - starting at $2000? Down from $2200
CPU- 4950HQ-Quadcore with Iris 5200 ~2.0ghz
I also can't image that the base model will ship with 512 GB. Prices haven't come down that much over the year.
