really glad there haven't been any leaks. I personally don't like them as they seem to ruin the surprise of what's to be released and decreases my "want" to buy the product (regardless of what it is).

Looking to buy the 13" Haswell with Retina. My transition to Mac will begin!!:)

If you take the recent refresh cycle into consideration (June - Feb - Oct - June -Feb - Oct etc) we'll see the rMBPs next month, so we've probably still got some waiting left to do.

That said, the refresh in Feb wasn't a typical update per se, so fingers crossed they're given the proper treatment a little early this year. Here's hoping.

The update history of Macbooks (according to Wikipedia) shows a few blips, including updates in January, March and April, so one month off schedule isn't unprecedented. Looking the other way, this would leave a June 2014 and February 2015 update, but Broadwell is due for 2H 2014, so it looks like the 8 month schedule will break down soon anyway.

So, if the invites come out today, they will state there that new MacBook Pro Retinas will be released or not?

That's it invites are out!

EDIT: Apparently it's not, The Verge pulled the trigger too fast

Definitely not. At most, this would warrant an "... and one more thing" mention at the end of the event. It could just as easily be a silent update.

I cant wait!!! I need to remplace my gaming pc and begin the transition to mac.

College is now started!!

That's interesting. I'm the opposite - I'm not an impulsive buyer so I like to do my research of the products well in advance (even if it's just rumors). Don't get me wrong, I like surprises, but the product is going to be what it is whether it was leaked or not. This is especially true assuming the leaks come when the design has been pretty much finalized and the product in production anyways.

me I want better performance

macbook pro= pci-e SSD, wifi AC, iris GPU, retina :D
other laptop have hd4400 or hd4600 gpu -__-

Here's what I think will happen in the events.

September 10th:
- iPhone:
aaaa- iPhone 5s
aaaa- iPhone 5c
- iPad:
aaaa- iPad mini
aaaa- iPad??? Maybe (however small the odds)
- iPod:
aaaa- iPod Shuffle
aaaa- iPod Nano
aaaa- iPod Classic
- Airport Express

Late October:

- iMac
- Mac Mini
- Mac Pro
- MacBook Pro Retina (standerd MacBook 15' cancelled)
- Displays

Early 2014:

- iWatch
- iTV
- Apple TV

Of course, this is all speculation and there is no reason for anybody to believe this as the truth. In my eyes it makes sense to do it like this for the items in each event are similar ie. iPod/iPhone vs Computers vs New market segments.

Well no way are iPads coming at the September 10th event. That's already a given.

I personally don't find any entertainment in getting surprises on this.

I'm ready to make a financial vs technical decision ASAP. I have no problem to buy a current model now if I only knew what the new models are spec'd and priced at.

A new purchase could help me finish the current and next project I'm slated to work on much quicker, but I'm willing to wait since I plan on holding on keeping the new laptop for 5 years.

But I get it's not as big a deal if you're relatively happy with your current setup and not in a hurry.
